I've decided to give MRCS after my PG Ortho. The reason is very personal ,i.e, I'm not sure I'd be able to land a non training job - but if I complete my PG here , then even if I fail to crack MRCS , I'll have something to go back to and start earning immediately .
Hello mam I am too from Mayurbhanj, Odisha motherland siblings. I have question that if I will graduate from a foreign med school I have to do internship in India to get a permanent Indian license to practice medicine in India, then to get GMC registration I need to clear both PLAB 1&2 then how can I pursue neurosurgery residency which might equivalent to MCH neurosurgery in India. Could you guide me to know up the things ?

May I just ask you that how do we get our speciality once we qualify both the plab exams (for IMG)?
PLAB exams are just licensing exams. To apply for core training you need to apply for the desired speciality separately. There is application period, you need to meet the eligibility criteria, appear for any exams if needed (some specialities have them) and then all specialities have interview + OSCE after which if you match you are offered a core training post. You can look up and apply on oriel website.

That’s incorrect. You apply for the speciality you want to specialise in for Core Training and Higher Speciality Training.

I believe non training job is kinda necessary as an IMG to gain NHS experience before getting into training. Am I right?
By easy if you mean doable. Then yes, it’s possible to get a job post internship as a fresh pass out.
I can’t put a number on how long it takes as it varies person to person. How long it might take to get GMC license, how many jobs you apply, how many get back to you, how many interviews go well, who offer you jobs, how long till your sort your tier2 visa out. It depends on a lot of things. Sorry, can’t be putting a number on it.
And lastly yes, I would recommend you doing a non training job before taking up training.

You have to do medical school to enter residency. And you are called doctor post medical school till the end of your life.

My opinion doesn’t matter. You should do what you feel is right for yourself. Everybody’s circumstances and priorities are different which is completely fine.

Yes, you can. You gotta find time and can do them on your off days or take AL etc if you want to. But I wouldn’t overly exert myself so much for some extra bucks. But that’s my opinion.😁

Is coaching from BHATIA/DAMS helpful in passing PLAB . I am planning to join Bhatia to take coaching for upcoming NEXT exam but I am very interested in giving PLAB exam !
I didn’t take any coaching. I solved question banks and that was that! I don’t think it’s necessary to join Bhatia for PLAB. It’s pretty straight forward if you have the study material.

I tried to find out from GMC online but i guess it says all the slots for 2021 are booked.
Hey. If all the slots are booked then you will have to wait for an empty slot to be announced or added. You can see availability in your GMC account when you apply to book it.

Hey. I am unsure about what the pre-requisites are for MRCS. Usually for someone to be giving royal college exams(few of the parts) there needs to be a certain number of years they need to have done in that speciality. Not too sure you will have to check it. Secondly, royal college exams are membership exams.

Will a DNB degree after mbbs of some more help for getting a job in nhs or making the CV a bit pretty?
Of course any degree makes it look pretty on CV as it counts as work experience. But it is unfortunately not recognised here.
Can I work as a fy2 for 2 continuous years? Does that count as increase in experience and increase the chances of me getting a speciality? And could you do a video on writing a CV?

I have explained my whole timeline in that video and various other videos. If I get to writing it will be a big paragraph. I hope you understand. Also, every speciality has different requirements when it comes to core training. I hope that answers your question.
I didn’t do any PG in any india post my internship if that’s what you are asking. Also, I can’t be promising what your job chances post PLAB2 will be- it depends on your portfolio and how you do in your interview. Thirdly, you have to be in U.K. to be giving PLAB2. Lastly, how many years you want to work as a junior doctor is in your hands. Don’t be in a hurry to get into core training job - take your time. It’s not a rat race.

It is perfectly possible. You may wish to pursue higher training in obs and gynae meaning MRCOG and become an obs and gynae consultant.

Honestly, I haven’t tried any in India. So, I wouldn’t be able to recommend. I would only be comfortable recommending what I’ve tried. PLAB1 I prepared by myself. However, I only bought the mocks via Samson. PLAB2 I took up a 2 weeks face to face course + mocks in London.

Indian PG is not recognised in U.K., USA, Europe, Australia or New Zealand.

Finish internship and then apply for FY2. Gives you an experience from India as well.
