I've been saying for years that there is nothing elegant or complicated about proper Italian cooking. It's simple and earthy. Proof positive! I can't wait to make this.
Pasquale? Where would I be able to procure those little scallop dishes or scallop shells????? Bc where I live,,,, I’ve never ever seen those,,, im in Pa,,,, and there’s no good seafood stores or seafood places to get anything like that (?!),,,,, im in Lewisburg Pa,,,, ( it’s a very old Victorian college town,,,, yet ZERO seafood places to get FRESH Seafoods ect,,,,,, ,,, anyhoo,,, I so SOOOOOOO ENJOY WATCHING N FILLOWING YOU! My grandpa Louis came straight here from Southern Italy,,,, n he never even learned to speak English!! Lol lol. Yet I was able to understand Italian,,, but couldn’t SPEAK it to save my soul!!!! Lol lol lol🙃😁,,, yet somehow i understood every word he spoke to me,,,,, he use to walk me on his Hugh farm,,, and he would pull radishes straight out of the earth n dirt , brush it off n feed them to me! Lol,, my matah use to have a FIT bc she said it wasn’t washed properly!! ( lol lol lol lol) yet my grandpa still did it anyway!and I luvvvvvved it!,,,, tnk you so much for being YOU!,,, bc you sound exactly like him with your ITALIANO accent!!!!!👍👍😁😁🥰🥰🥰🥰😁🥰🥰😁😁
How would you make a scampi sauce for sautéed shrimp and scallops on angel hair pasta? I want to try it on the shells like this, too. This looks really good!
Here is a breakdown of what I paid here in NJ: 4 Scallops (wild caught): $5.33 16 shrimp (wild caught): $8.28 Garlic: $0.60 Lemon: $0.79 3 Tbsp. Butter: $0.40 1/2 cup Dry White Wine ($15/750ml bottle): $2.40 1 cup Plain Breadcrumbs: $0.60 Total for 4 servings = $18.40 ($4.60 per serving) Also, you do not need a chefs range/oven to cook this in. A toaster oven/air fryer works just as well and might even cook faster.
We had this for dinner but I think the wine ruined this recipe. I worked for a famous Chef He Cooked for the Queen and several Presidents and he told me Never cook with wine.
Anything that starts with olive oil, garlic, hot pepper, and wine has GOT to be good. Can't wait to do this one.
I agree. Smells great too! Hope you enjoy
You forgot the butter.

Many of the best recipes are peasant dishes which never show up on a restaurant menu. It's not complicated or fancy.

Hello! Happy to have you here
Looks delicious 😋 Do you let the wine reduce?
Definitely making this soon! Beside wine, what would you suggest serving with this? What's your "go to"? A pasta side dish? A salad? Some veggies?
My lemon pasta is delicious with this! a simple garlic and oil also works. In the summer when my arugula grows in my garden I make a salad with it.
@@OrsaraRecipes thanks for the suggestion!
Buon appetito!!

With the price of food these days, I'll try this recipe if I win the Lottery. Also, not everyone has a chefs range or oven.

16 shrimp (wild caught): $8.28
Garlic: $0.60
Lemon: $0.79

Total for 4 servings = $18.40 ($4.60 per serving)
Also, you do not need a chefs range/oven to cook this in. A toaster oven/air fryer works just as well and might even cook faster.
@OrsaraRecipes Thanks, but that is a bit much for me.
hey friend is your eye ok? what is wrong? sorry if this is a rude question.
Why is it called scampi? Now I know what to do with my shells, but where are they? Hmmm
What happened just saw your account was banned? Hope Pasquale is alive and well?
Pasquale, what happened with your oh yeah baby? 🌶️
We had this for dinner but I think the wine ruined this recipe. I worked for a famous Chef He Cooked for the Queen and several Presidents and he told me Never cook with wine.
You need to cook off the alcohol in the wine otherwise it will taste bad.
Bellisimmo
