What can you do to recover the heat off the exhaust pipe. Some people will use an old iron radiator and others make a sand battery. I have gotten into the programming before and tuned the Hz down to 1.4, it wouldn’t stay on at 1.2Hz. This when I was running it by pump speed. I just use the thermostat now so it’s either on full blast or at its lowest speed which I believe is 1.7Hz. That’s bearing noise they are cheap enough to replace. I keep a second heater as a backup just in case. I can swap them pretty quickly in case one needs a rebuild.
Good call on keeping a spare. If the bearings have Timken or Koyo parts that cross reference to what's in there, those would last even longer. I've seen several videos where an old steam radiator has been used to scavenge more heat from the exhaust so there's less wasted energy. I plan to do that myself when I get the HCALORY unit I'll be ordering once I get rid of my shop's pellet stove.
Thanks for the info , I was considering running waste oil or a mix of 50/50 but after this I think I just run coloured diesel of heating oil .. does not seem worth the trouble to fool with alternative fuels However biodiesel might be an option as well , it’s just used veg oil - methanol - lye mixture Cheers
So on last year's cleaning it was bad, this years cleaning had maybe 20L worth of oil through it diluted with diesel so it wasn't so bad. Far as filtering I definitely didn't do that. There's a channel called @loweredexpectations and he tossed, trashed and pushed limits of these heaters testing all sorts of different things. End of the day the anyone who claims they burn waste motor oil in these heaters based off my dilutions from 10:1 to 2:1 diesel to oil and @Loweredexpectations I can say safely on a stock heaters wmo isn't worth the head aches and cleaning needed
Last year I was clearing out what I had mixed before taking the heater apart for cleaning because i was having all sorts of startup issues. So in short I wouldn't suggest trying to burn waste motor oil and new motor oil when it was cheaper still was having startup issues with time
Never tried used cooking oil, never looked into the flash point difference but if I was still testing I would definitely look into it and make the area possibly smell like French fries 🤣
I run these heaters all winter 24 hours a day but I run on as low as it will go I have to clean them more,Great video thanks.

So what ratio did you run last winter? 10:1? That seemed pretty clean
