I don't use as many items as you do and I've gotten 4K per challenge so far, I think lighting in the picture and how the items are arranged makes a difference too
In the first week, my outfit had double the requirements /3 and /5 and I went 3 points ahead of all of the ballgowns. However I just scored 1500 moonstones: Last week, I had just the minimum outfit requirements for earth outfit and I got 4000 . So I doubt going over the requirement tags makes much difference. I would however be really interested to know if putting Premium Shop items in your DreamSnap gets you any bonus points? I've tried it with Fire and Water challenge and I've added Star Path items, Premium Shop items,... (have like 11 in the picture.) Just curious to see what the ranking will be next week. And if GL somehow adds a small bonus % in that formula when the algorithm detects PS items or if it doesn't matter.
I used premium shop items in my first entry and got 600 moonstones. No premium shop items in my 2nd entry because people were talking about how they vote no if there’s premium items - anyway that entry got 2500 and ranked waaaay higher. I don’t think premium shop has anything to do with it

Last week for Red & Blue I had the worst time ever. I had red and blue clothing that apparently didn't count, red and blue flowers that didn't count, even items with clear red and blue in them not counting toward the total, to the point that I couldn't take any of the nice photos I wanted and ended up just having to pile specific items in the shot just to fulfill the requirement. Very frustrating. I would like to find out what the criteria are for items counting toward the requirement, because it's definitely not straightforward.
For starters you need to pay attention to the type of challenge if its a design/furniture challenge then clothing items will not count towards mandatory or suggested items and if its an outfit challenge then only clothing items will count. It doesn't mean you cant dress your avatar to match a design challenge or set up a background design for a clothing challenge as those will help in voting it
I had a hard time too. I wanted a specific picture and junk like energy cans were counting. It made my picture look bad. It also doesn’t count duplicate items.
One thing I noticed is that the pixie dust reward doesn't vary as much as the moonstones do. So even if you are not getting those big moonstone rewards, if you just compete each week you can still mostly keep up with pixie dust.
Yes photos that don't meet requirements can be submitted, I have seen them. Photos of walls, of just the person standing there and there was an inappropriate one a few weeks ago made entirely with tomatoes. They do need to make it so only those that meet requirements can be submitted though. I'm sure the ones that dont are still getting rewards and they shouldnt be. Also if a photo is reported someone needs to check it and remove if necessary(that inappropriate one kept popping up to a point i dont think it was coincidence.) They should prevent repeat photos as well. And they need to give a full explanation of how the voting works so we can get the most we can out of dreamsnaps.
The payout for moonstones is different for PlayStation users. You get less moonstones I placed in the top 800 last week and I only got 1200 moonstones.

I've participated in a couple, only just got back in to playing, not getting notified anywhere of even the basic requirements of taking part so not getting any moonstone other than for voting 🤔

It seems strange if I had to rely on switch viewer to vote me up that this is the only reason I received more points. There are 10s of thousands of voters. I voted almost a full day for others and ran in to duplicates nd not new image and was knock out many times. My exampl at least to me is that one ps5 account with loaded mandatories vs the other with minimal gave me this large range, all items were the same Nd in the same spot. So unless the voters just didn’t see my second account,,it leaves me wondering. 4000 vs 1200. I don’t k ow just speculation. Thanks for your research. For me I’ll just keep loading up the requirements.
The amount of people submitting on Playstation is a lot less that all the other consoles combined, so yes, it's definitely different. There's a higher chance at ranking higher on PS for sure. ;-)
Anyone have trouble with TOM items? I had items placed in an upper biome, far in the back. These were not visible in the picture or n a lower biome. Until I removed them I got the TOM error.
I haven' used ToM items in my stuff so I don't have that problem but I definitely have seen others say the system detects them almost instantly even if they aren't visible. Quite annoying.

If you ranked higher, you should have gotten more moonstones unless you were in the same bracket for the 4k moonstones. Also, keep in mind that PlayStation users are on a different ranking that PC, Switch and Xbox. So if they ranked lower than you and got more moonstones, they were probably on the different console voting pool.
Im so irritated with dreamsnaps. It always says there is nothing to vote on so i dont get the 50 for voting, but some how i place and get pixildust and moonstones.
I completely understand, Darth. They definitely have to continue working on the kinks and get their act together with that "nothing to vote" on issue. I do find that I rarely get that message on PC, but I'm sure it's not the same for console players. Sorry you have to deal with that so much!

It's all dependent on how many people are submitting dreamsnaps and since the pool is probably smaller in PS, the percentile is going to change.

Mine has been going down each time too. I think because there is a lot more people doing it, perhaps, so there is much more competition.

I think it's different for PlayStation, I've gotten 4k each week but my rank has vairied a lot, 250, 81 and 31.
