This was great. It’s the only review I’ve seen with such a detailed look at the development from the lead engineer’s perspective, as well as going into more detail regarding the Ducati Data Analyzer. Ducati discussed the multiple (70) input mechanisms, the rear brake system, and the MotoGP basis, but this really brought it home. Great work!
Pierre Terblanche (999) will be saying I told you so ! I love my PT Ducatis, trellis frames and single side swing arms . Time marches on, history don’t win races. Love this bike ❤️🇮🇹🏍
To hear Carlo speak about the level of effort that went into perfecting the rider assistance on the 2025 Panigale made me proud to be a Ducati owner !!
Don't worry about it, it's entirely appropriate for a learner bike, thousands of rich kids in the US just getting their licence and first bike can't be wrong!
Goodness gracious after watching several videos of the 25 V4s, when he flashed to the V4R/SP2, those bikes look just menacing, definitely prefer it's looks but love the way the wings are integrated on the new one.
Very thoughtful and detailed review. I like the added information you got with the interview. Also, digging the leathers, it is like 1988 all over again 👍
Ok serious question...where can we get the software for the data and telemetry? I hate what was given to me for my V4R and that data screen looks waaaaayyyy better to use.
@@cyclenews Hello, did you maybe get some info on this? Where will software be available? Is it something that is included with the motorcycle or we need to buy it separate? Thank you!
With all that new tech, Ducati say's it's only 1 second faster (on same track and rider ability )as last years V4S. That's a lot if you can maximize the changes but, not for 99.9% of probable owners.
For sure, but that's at the pointy tip of performance. For the rest of us, the main takeaway is how much easier it is to use as a whole. Ultimate lap times mean very little, really.
If Pecco can manage one second faster then your normal trackday rider might well gain more than that. One second to those guys is far more than one second to the rest of us.
Started off at a 1:50 (first time I'd seen the track), then consistent 46's. After lunch, with the changes made, it was consistent 1:43s with a fastest of 1:43.2. For reference, Italian Superstock 1000 does a pole of 1:36s with 10-15th around 1:42-43s.
@cyclenews of course! But the numbskulls on the web now take it as read that the k5 is "faster" than all panigales because of ONE video. It's comical😂
Literally no one is saying that. Only a squid with a beat up $2800k Gixxer would mouth off like that. However, R Escalante is still running at the front in MotoAmerica on an old ass tech Gixxer, sooooo there's that.
Literally every Superbike has been like that since 2005. These machines are all made for pro racers, just like a GT3 RS is for a pro driver and a Role Deepsea for a pro diver....if they made the bike for your ability it would be a scooter w a top speed of 70mph, and 50 hp, and 9 people worldwide would buy them.
WHY the hell do all of you on here all do videos about the same topic as everyone else at roughly the very same time???!! I am sick of this weird matrix I live in!! Give me the red pill Morpheus!! And the only one doing the best review about this bike or any bike is MCN as usual.
It's because all 20 of us who attended the launch had to adhere to an embargo that lifted at 7:00am PST today. We had our content ready to go at 7:00 am PST, just like everyone else. That's why you'll only see 20 reviews from the launch. If you want content not from the launch, you'll have to wait until the bikes are available to everyone else. When that is, I have no idea.
Removing the signature SSSA is just another Ducati blunder. Why the "S"? which is mostly used on the street. Why not just the "R" or the base model where buyers usually change everything to go to the track.
The R hasn't been revealed yet. Ducati tell me we will not see the new R for at least another year. The single-sided swingarm may be a Ducati signature, but it's just not as effective as a double-sided unit. You're asking one side to do the job of two, hence the reason they are built overly stiff. That's why none of the Japanese use them.
@@cyclenews I agree with you at the margin of performance. However, most of these bike will seldomly hit the track. We're all amateurs given the performance of modern superbikes. The convenience of a SSSA for servicing is unrivaled.
All these embargoed reviews come out at the same minute- but Rennie’s the the one that should get your first click.
Thanks Rob! Help us spread the word by giving it a share... Thanks mate!

Agreed
Rennie that RST suit is so 80's cool !!! Absolutely love it.
Thanks Peyton! I was going for that 1990 Kawasaki Jet Ski commercial kinda vibe ;)
Great review. Thanks
As usual, it’s a thing of beauty. It will look even more amazing in the even higher variants to come. Aggressive. Love it.
One of our favorites no doubt.
@ I’m surprised there is pushback out there on the looks. Seems to be polarizing.
Great interview/insights with Carlo, thanks for putting that in. Cheers. G.

Yes, Carlo is a fantastic guy. He bleeds Ducati red!
Stunning, getting this beauty.
Do it.
Same. Ordered mine a few weeks ago.
@@Trinity636 Well done!

Yeah they do look mean as hell. It'll be interesting to see what the new V4 R looks like, but you can guarantee it'll have a double-sided swingarm 😉

Thanks, Timothy. Yep, it's all hyper color t-shirts in the office right now! Thanks for your thoughts and I'm glad you enjoyed the review.
Awesome review!
Cheers!
Hey Rennie! Best review out so far on the new V4S! Glen - Race Technologies
Cheers Glen!
Hell yeah rennie! Amazing hardcore bike
Cheers mate 👍
Thanks for the review! Climb pikes peak on this…
It'd make getting up that hill pretty easy!
Awesome review, not too sure about the leathers. 😁🇦🇺
Come on mate! Gotta love the retro vibes.
And that's why they dominated the wsbk and MotoGP 👍
Team 44 time 44.44
Really glad Ducati got this right by inviting proper journos like Rennie and not the more lifestyle UA-camrs they sometimes pander to 👍
Cheers, Rob. That's very nice of you.

Leave it with me. I'll ask Ducati and get you a proper answer--Rennie

2:17 what the hell is guys martins son doing there? :D
Why doesn't the USA get the full horsepower? Is it the EPA? DOT? CAFE? Lawyers?
I want one.

The fairing upper looks angry.
Cue the trolls saying it wont be faster than a 20 year old suzuki?😂

Looks a complete dogs dinner - a Germanic track bike!
if it had a matte finish, I think it'd look better?
Possibly, but I don't think this bike looks as good in photos as it does in real life. It's a stunner in real life.
That's the vanilla version. Wait for the SP3, Tri Colore, or V4R.....they will look beastly.
Not as fast as a suzuki k4/k5 600
Yeah, nowhere near.🤣
Too much bike... Appreciate what it does but could never use it..
Fair call. They are very focused now, probably more than ever.
