hey mate.. im stepping into the world of custom paint by doing 2 racing helemts.. ive watched just about all of your videos.. and bought most of your products.. i just wanted to say thank you... you make it look easy, and your amazon links really help out.. cheers.
My method for spraying flakes is Silver base under chrome flakes - Spray a wet bed of clear prior to flake application makes life easy...... it allows flakes to embed and lay down vs them wanting to stand back up on edge & also allows for less coats of clear/flow coats afterwards......
I'm getting my first bike real soon and I'm planning on painting it myself. I love your tutorials you make it look so easy and it's getting me inspired. Just one question! How long do I let the paint dry before peeling off the tape?
Absolutely love these paint jobs, you are very talented. How realistic is it for someone to do this? Really appreciate the time you took to walk through each step. Thanks!
I've watched lots of your videos and I have to say those paintjobs are legit. Very well explained and very tempting to attempt myself. What's the biggest flake you've sprayed?
Your videos have inspired me to do some paint work. I did a tank with house of kolor. I have a question. Can I do this line line flake in clear over a metallic/candy job with panels done or will it change the color of the paint job. I would like more sparkle.
Awesome vid! I'm planning on painting my RC51(in my pic) doing gold flake over a 2 tone black fading up to candy burnt orange. You said you can shoot the flake with the same gun so I would like to ask what gun you use? I'm trying to avoid buying a specific gun for the flake so that part really caught my attention! You have a new subscriber! And I'll be using your links to buy what I need. Thank you sir!
My flake just cloggs the gun....I shake it like crazy...the whole time I'm spraying and it still.wont come out evenly... any tips? Thanks! Ps...bought some lime line tape bc of you....I love it! Thanks
@@TimeWarpCustomPaint you are giving me lot of Inspiration I know I’ve got a long ways to go but that’s my dream just to be painting and quit my 9-to-5 job I would like for you to do one paint job on my bike I live in Canada now so I might have to ship my tin down to you.
I want to paint my motorcycle silver metal flake, cobalt candy blue, and black candy stripes. Should I add flakes to each paint or use like a transparent paint?
This may be a dumb question, but is the kandy difficult to get consistent coverage one frames? Or is it more forgiving on a frame? And what is your strategy when spraying? Thank you and your content is excellent!
Hi Do u have too sand it wen u spray Matel flake ? An is that the only size needle u can use or can I use the ones that come with the airbrush gun the G444
If i want candy red with flakes and follow your steps.....after applying flakes with base black and after clear sanding.....for candy flake red ...do i have to make a base silver again????
I have a project for my Crown Vic. My plan is Hot Rod Black base. Then a thin coat of Deep Purple Micro Flakes from DYC. I have 15g of it. And on top Brandywine Candy High Gloss.. Honestly I have no clue how it will turn out. Is it possible you can replicate that on a A4 template? I would really like to see if it's a good idea. Got all materials ready for it. Sincerely Henning Kemner TX
random question but i added lime green flakes in on top of my metallic green base (synergy green like camaro colour) and it comes out looking like dark spots until the light hits it... is that normal for a coloured flake? should i add more or is it too much? prob hard to tell but could add a video on my channel if you're interested in seeing it
What ratio did you do the pagan gold for the spray gun? im getting ready to spray mine with KK04 and can't find any real information on koncentrate to clear ratio. Thanks for the videos! They are my inspiration for my project.
Ok if I was doing that same thing you did with the candy flake but wanted it to look black in the dark and see the color in the light would I just tint the clear with black after the candy was done
What kind of paint gun are you using? I've never painted a primer, or base...im a beginner with airbrushing and always had a friend do that stuff for me. Id like to be able to do it all myself. Have no clue where to begin
After you spray the metal flake and clear how long do you wait until you sand it smooth? I sprayed my gas tank and fender 2 days ago and I had 1 small drip on the mounting tab and that drip is still pretty soft

great finish thanks for sharing

thanks for teaching us the way of the metal flake !
You’re welcome thanks for watching
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Glad it was helpful!
The metal flake really pops. I have used the micro flake with house of color UK candy.
Awesome, thanks for watching
I’ve learned a lot from your videos- many thanks.. good choice in dog too 🙏
Thank you 🙏
WOW! That is just gorgeous.

That’s how I did it before and that works. However I have found you get more of a sparkle over black when using LiME LiNE metal flake.
I'm getting my first bike real soon and I'm planning on painting it myself. I love your tutorials you make it look so easy and it's getting me inspired. Just one question! How long do I let the paint dry before peeling off the tape?
about 5-10 min depending on how heavy you spray
@@TimeWarpCustomPaint thanks!
How did the bike turn out?
Awesome job! If the clear coat chosen is a matte one would the flakes still shine in the sun? Thanks
No, not really it kind of defeats the purpose
Absolutely love these paint jobs, you are very talented. How realistic is it for someone to do this? Really appreciate the time you took to walk through each step. Thanks!
Allot of people have learn already
Real nice job, I like it.
Thanks!
how long did you wait between each coat? primer, base coat ,flake, clear. thank you!
I love your job... best regards from Hamburg Ger.
Thank you for watching my videos
Really good work! 👍
Thanks a lot!
your videos are just amazing very nice explained
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful work my brother!!! What other spray tips are available for the lime line spray gun other than the 1.3 tip it comes with?
It’s just the 1.3 are use that for about everything
Damn, someone is lucky, that frame is beautiful!
For sure!! Thanks for watching!!
Think im gonna go this route for the Diecycle.
✌️
Awesome!! Can you do a video how to reduce paint for airbrush?? Or just let me know tha ratio more or less..
Thank you and keep the videos coming
Will do soon
How did you get rid of the overspray from the sun rays that went up on the top tube before spraying the entire frame?
Does anyone know the size of this flake please? Would love to know what's the biggest flake I can shoot out a 1.4 tip? Thanks
Why the black basecoat under silver flake? Love the videos by the way
Thanks!!! the black base makes the flake pop more. Silver base dulls it out!
I feel like there is more depth and dimension with a black base/silver flake. Silver base/silver flake just looks a little flat and more boring
Super phenomenal bro
Thanks
I've watched lots of your videos and I have to say those paintjobs are legit. Very well explained and very tempting to attempt myself. What's the biggest flake you've sprayed?
Great video as usual!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What are your thoughts on dry flaking? It seems so much more efficient and cost-effective.
Makes a mess and takes allot of clear to smooth it out
Awesome vid! Can this be done on the black-textured plastic parts on cars?
Do you need to lay down some kind of adhesion promoter for the plastic
Beautiful work. You have a real nice setup for custom painting.
Thank you very much!
Your videos have inspired me to do some paint work. I did a tank with house of kolor. I have a question. Can I do this line line flake in clear over a metallic/candy job with panels done or will it change the color of the paint job. I would like more sparkle.
No probably dont do that. Its used as a base layer for candy paint on top
Tha I you so much for your reply and input. Keep the videos coming!
Green is for the money and gold is for the honey! So pimp homie!

1.3 spray gun from LiME LiNE. I use it for everything
@TimeWarpCustomPaint the packet of flake suggests 1.4 tip. Does "lime line 1.3 basecoat/clear coat spray gun" come with a 1.4 tip?
My flake just cloggs the gun....I shake it like crazy...the whole time I'm spraying and it still.wont come out evenly... any tips? Thanks!
Ps...bought some lime line tape bc of you....I love it! Thanks
The flake your using maybe too heavy. LiME LiNE Metal Flake is light weight it suspends in the clear better. Thanks for your support 🙏

Thanks man

I want to paint my motorcycle silver metal flake, cobalt candy blue, and black candy stripes. Should I add flakes to each paint or use like a transparent paint?
Silver flake first. Transparent on top. 👍
I have the lime line spray gun with the 1.3 tip can I get bigger tips for the gun? What brand would I get ?
The Lime Line gun is 1.3 only.
This may be a dumb question, but is the kandy difficult to get consistent coverage one frames? Or is it more forgiving on a frame? And what is your strategy when spraying? Thank you and your content is excellent!
If your new at spraying candy its better to spay lighter coats.
How long do you leave the candy paint to dry for before removing the lime line tape? Many thanks!
is there a noticeable difference between black paint with glitter mixed in versus black base topped with clear coat mixed with glitter?
Yes, It will make a pretty big difference. mixing in clearcoat over black basecoat will be allot brighter.
Hi Do u have too sand it wen u spray Matel flake ? An is that the only size needle u can use or can I use the ones that come with the airbrush gun the G444
1.3 tip size or bigger using LiME LiNE flake. Yes you need to sand smooth before graphics
is there a reason why you started with a urethane primer? could you start with epoxy, then urethane?
Yes 👍
If i want candy red with flakes and follow your steps.....after applying flakes with base black and after clear sanding.....for candy flake red ...do i have to make a base silver again????
Nope. Just candy red
What is the mix ratio of flake added to sprayable material?
One pack makes 1 pint
How much time do you wait in between flake coats and clear coats?
Depends on allot of different factors but usually 10-15 min
I have a project for my Crown Vic. My plan is Hot Rod Black base.
Then a thin coat of Deep Purple Micro Flakes from DYC.
I have 15g of it.

there little information I cant on a certain lime line products
what karat size is all lime line gold leafing?
It’s imitation it’s actually made out of aluminum and copper mixed real goldleaf would not have the same brilliant outcome

Why did you use both Upol and Tamco clear?
Price
What ratio did you do the pagan gold for the spray gun? im getting ready to spray mine with KK04 and can't find any real information on koncentrate to clear ratio. Thanks for the videos! They are my inspiration for my project.
I’ll probably start around 2 to 1 with the gold because it’s not really that strong of a color
Is clear base coat just binder without pigments?
yes basically
How much coverage will one packet of flake do? I am doing a tank and front and rear fender from a 05 Dyna wide glide
1 pack should do it.
Awesome thank you!
How about a two door coupe? Doing trunk, hood and sides, no top. Will two packs do it?
Ok if I was doing that same thing you did with the candy flake but wanted it to look black in the dark and see the color in the light would I just tint the clear with black after the candy was done
no that will probably not look good
how much time do you wait in between coats to move on?
Depends on the clearcoat but 5-10 min
Nice!
Thank you for watching
i can't like it again no joke 2nd or 3rd time watching thanks
I appreciate that
What kind of paint gun are you using? I've never painted a primer, or base...im a beginner with airbrushing and always had a friend do that stuff for me. Id like to be able to do it all myself. Have no clue where to begin
1.3 tip spray Gun by LiME LiNE
I am I am from India how can purchase tell me please
I never see you use gold flake. Is there a reason? Same question but for crushed glass?
Because I tint the flakes with a Candy which gives it a better look. Glass is too much work and doesn't look any better in my opinion
@@TimeWarpCustomPaint makes perfect sense! Thanks for the lesson
Difference between spraying flake in intercoat clear vs 2k clear? Seen it done both ways.
clearcoat lays the flake smoother
Adam what are the gun settings...psi and where did you set your fan, wide open or tightened up a little Thanks
It all depends. When you narrow you pattern you need less air pressure
Can you spray that metal flakes with an airbrush
No, 1.4 tip and bigger for the LiME LiNE Flake I use!!
Do they have the size for an airbrush?
Or do you know what size to use with an airbrush?
Spraying some of this today, quick question. Why not put the flake in blender instead of actual clear?
The flake lays flater on clearcoat. Blender dries too fast creating too much of a texture but still works.
@@TimeWarpCustomPaint my supernova would not spray the flakes well, had to use blender so get enough coats
Is this the same process for any object?...
yes, if its metal
Do you offer training classes? (in person?)
Not at the moment
After you spray the metal flake and clear how long do you wait until you sand it smooth? I sprayed my gas tank and fender 2 days ago and I had 1 small drip on the mounting tab and that drip is still pretty soft
Depends on the clear but usually 24 hours
Man I wish you could make my bike look cool . I'm building it for my daughter . It's a lowrider bike
That’s awesome thank you for watching
Nice
Thanks

What psi are you spraying the flake at ?
@@0-HIGH-0 at about 22-28
What paint gun would you suggest to do this same type of painting but for a car ?
If i used silver flake and accidentally sanded through clear into the flake will the sparkle come back after the clear is applied?
It should be OK as long as you didn’t burn through the metal flake
So it doesn’t look like you sanded after the primer until the clear was completed. Is that because of the material and technique?
I did sand the primer
Did you use hardener when you shot the flake too or just the clear after?
Yes, hardener with the flake
beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
The amazon link for the flake says its currently unavailable. Is it a simple case of being out of stock or can we not get it in the UK?
Only USA Canada and Mexico right now
Question why do you put the silver flake over a black base coat?
It makes it pop more
1 pack to one pint. How many ounces are in 1 pack?
2.1
Sand the primer
Is the flake .002 ?
.004 and .008
Do you do gold leaf also?
Yes we do just search LiMELiNE on Amazon
Wow, that is a really, really steep markup on the limeline stuff. You'd probably get a paint shop to sell you some stuff at 1/8 the price.
Kis there a reason u use silver flaking all of your tutorials?
Yes because you can candy over it making a lot of different colors
Is there a issue putting candies over gold flake for a different effect
So why do you always use a black base coat instead of a silver base coat since you're spray silver flake over it?
The flake looks better over blackbase as long as you are using LiME LiNE metalflake

Needs more flake
