Great video. Also amazing customer service, made some mistakes on my order and you and your team had no problem fixing it for me. Been recommending you left and right. Just got my paint in, can’t wait to lay it down on my project car. Thanks for doing what you do!
Awesome video, I never would have guessed that much flake was needed 👌
It’s really not
Their selling “flake”
I am going to look for a video on your channel for the “Polished Copper” I saw used on Pharraway’s recent Oct. video. I had to stop and write down the brand to go look for it. I want the polished copper with the 0.004” flake to spray a 67 C10 pickup over black epoxy ground or base coat. I have to paint the panels while apart so get the mix & consistent spray pattern down is obviously a requirement. This is not a customer, but for me. Retired after 38+ years as an ASE master tech (1978) and this one is mine. Interior is brown distressed leather and white. The top of the truck will be white. I am not trying to copy or match, complete restoration-mod. Thanks to Pharraway I subscribed. Any discounts for senior citizens? 😊 Thanks kindly for just this video info!
Cheer's and props mi amigo you killed it Nice! Coming from Odessa homie God bless
Gonna start practicing soon to flake my own truck 💪 very excited
ive seen other companies carry there flakes in aerosol cans, would you guys ever consider doing this with smaller flakes like the .04? im doing a lowrider bike but i dont have access to a good set up thats why i ask
That coverage is amazing!
this looks absolutely stunning. question: I'm spraying blue interstellar pearls and starlight over my hok basecoat, would you recommend mixing the pearls and flake together or lay pearls down first with flake over top? I'm going for a subtle look with both the flakes and the pearls. thanks!
Lay down the pearls down first. Then the flakes. Use Tropical glitz intercoat so you don't lose any quality of the sparkle.
@@TropicalGlitz thanks man! can't wait to start spraying that tropical glitz baby
Thank you. I'm interested in buying your product. What happens when you mix color flakes with a different color paint?
Nice job flake is nice .do kemelean pearls video next .I spoke to earlier keep the products coming
Great video!
Any way you guys can make a video on your black onyx flake I think it would look really cool just not sure
Question..I'm painting my car black(rear) and white (front)but wana add a small amount of gold flake ...I got some .004 micro flake ...but i dont want to over do the gold ...how much should I use or what's the best approach 🙏
My best advice paint the white and black on a sample then mix you're gold flake then spray 1 coat and see how that looks and go from there on how many coats
Great advice! @@sll-tt6bj
Always do a spray out 1st
What color base coat would u recommend for your starlight metal flake? Would it be okay to mix the flake with clear coat?
Thats FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Papa glitz is the place to be🔥🔥🔥👍👍
My Gosh I have never seen so much flake go in 1 cup and not have any trouble spraying it because it sprayed amazingly, how? You had to have been using a large tip!
I'm going to ask a huge favor, before mixing the flake but after telling us what you are going to do could you please go over what type of guns and tips you are using in detail, tip size, needle size, psi you are using and the products you are using names of what you used and why you think this mix is the best and every type of gun you are using and what is the psi set on the gun please!
Also could you go through the top of the line guns to use for each process like priming, colors, metal flake and do you use the same gun when you use intermediate clearing and top coat clear and if you could use and gun brand and type what would it be and break down why.
Thank you so much!
Hello! All of our flake guns and spray guns can be found on our website www.tropicalglitz.net
How do the aerosol spray cans yall carry compare to the spray gun and paint setup? I'm doing a motorcycle project at home I want to paint
It's made with same ingredients. Our spray cans will always offer amazing results for projects that size. We like the control of a spray gun more.
what tip with that much flake ?why not just use .25 bass boat flake.?you didnt show how many coats of clear you had to use to make sure it flate before you wet sanded it. thats the fun part. besides cleaning up all the flake left in the shop and your boots
Lol daddy roth has their silver flake in a .40 size 😮
No wonder I couldn’t get that to spray through the .3 Iwata 😂😂 Weeee… now we’re having fun. 👊🏻👊🏻🤣
That's awesome 👏🏽, I'll like to know can I use your flakes with epoxy resin?
Yes!
Looks killer!
I suppose if you want a silver car then that much flake is needed but I always thought of it as an *effect* and not the base coat!
is there a limit to how large of a metal flake you can spray?
The size of the metal flake depends on the size of the tip of the paint gun.
@@TropicalGlitz Thanks. What size would you recommend for a .015 flake?
Whats the difference between shooting it with clear opppose to intercoat.
The difference between inter coat and clear coat it is easier to spray metal flakes and pearls using inter coat and it is also easier to lay down the metal flakes with inter coat. Inter coat is more of a mid coat, while clear coat is for your glossy and protective finish.
How much grams of metal flakes per mix of cup can you but 52 grams? Max or more ??
Where's the finished product with clear and how many coats
How many coat of clear does it normally take to bury that much flake for sanding?
25 coats
@@notyodaddy1499 like the old barris and roth days 35 coats of hand rubbed laq.
🔥🔥🔥
Question is there ever such thing as too much Metal flake I dumped the hole can Probably very expensive to do that right
Not really but you run into clogging up the gun
@@TropicalGlitzWhat is the max you can put in a gallon of paint without clogging?
Though this is a very informative video I still feel anxious. None of the examples showed a logical method or ratio of metal flake during the mixing process. I am new to all of this and just dumping in flake on top of flake doesn't really help explain anything. What''s the ratio one to another? Like how much of the fine to medium to large flake.
Determining the ideal metal flakes mixing ratio is influenced by coverage, flake size, and desired outcome. Instead of providing a specific ratio, gradually add small amounts of flakes to your intercoat mix, checking with a mixing stick until achieving the desired final look. Apply 2-3 coats for full coverage without clogging your gun.
@@TropicalGlitz thank you for responding. It's my first time doing this. Would you recommend larger or smaller flake for more even coverage
Regardless you'll be able to get good coverage no matter what size you use, but the lower you go in size the more flake you'll need for full coverage.
There are many tutorials of candy paint job or custom and lowrider paints. But there are no tutorial about what materials we use step by step from metal to finnish and what's the material's chemical name so that we can find them in any country we live if we know the chemical name we can find them under any commercial name in our country. So if i know how to spray a candy paint but when i don't know what kind of base coat i need under it so it's useless.
I need to know layers step by step. And each paint mixes with what kind of thinner and hardener. How to mix metal fkakes and mix with what.
I eish there was a tutorial that shows it all from metal to the Finnish. So that we can learn how to the rhewhole project as a beginner
Hello. We do not share the private information on how to make our paint as they are our custom colors. Typically candy's are sprayed over a silver base. We have plenty of tutorials showing the basics of mixing and spraying where we go through the process with you step by step on this UA-cam channel. If there is a specific video that you would like to see in the coming weeks, please don't hesitate to reach out through the comment section.
@@TropicalGlitzDo you make any oil based paints?
End result?
Que escarcha usa el nombre
Hey wheres the AFTER
pissed me off
Ya'll don't answer anywhere 😂 I want to see interstellar violet over black base please. I hit ya'll on the ig and on the website
I canot estimate how much you use here. Please next time talk of quantity to figure it out
With flake it is all up to your personal preference on how much flake you want to use. More flake = more coverage. Be careful not to add to much because that might clog your spray gun.
Is it the mixing ratio or sum or do I just suck I've layed flakes before few times and never had this problem
What size tip in your gun?
2.5
Man I put as much as u said and did and it didn't shoot out for nuthing I dnt know what to do to get it to shoot even fine flake
You need a flake gun. Like a 2.5 or 2.8 tip and needle
I got the tropical glitz flake bomber with the 2.5 tip and 3.0 all flake gets stuck at bottom and clumps out
I've seen some cups with a little agitator in them that keeps heavy flake from clumping, shouldn't need it with their flake gun, also you might want to go another turn out on your fluid and make sure your fan wide open, I always run wide open on both and since I use pps cups I remove the inside the lid screen when I do flake
Remove the screen in gum
