@@M-t3ch For myself, fun, control, and skill outweighs "better". I like the challenge of being in control of the machine. Outsourcing responsibilities defeats my purpose on the track.🙂
@williamrogers4914 I like that philosophy. That is how my E36 M3 will be too. Different car for a different experience! There is something nice about rowing your own gears and the feel of an older car.
@@M-t3ch I like how you put that. I think I'm going to start using that to explain the point. "I'd rather row my own boat"..."than outsource it." There used to be a drag racer people used to call Mr. four speed, because he was able to speed shift a manual faster than an automatic in a race. This was a boost for his car, because the manual gave him a weight and power advantage over the automatics. Since I was younger I have practiced this type of shifting to the point that I only slightly tap the clutch pedal as I change the gears as fast as I can pull it. It will even scratch the tires. Obviously I don't do it very much on a road course, but in a straight line, it's the way to go.
@williamrogers4914 That is awesome! Manual is a lot of fun but it's cool to hear a situation where it actually still could be faster. The weight advantage and simplicity are a real benefit!
My 1998 BMW 318ti Sport converted to an M332ti sure is. ZF 5spd manual for the win. Automatics are great candidates for manual swaps.😅
That is so sweet! I always liked the E36 Tis. The Zf5 speed is a good transmission, but on track, this DCT is way better imo.
