The pilots producer had the right style, especially the tech, it was just about feasable. The car changing colour was a cool effect and made me think how I would go about doing that for real just like the tech was handled in the original series. When the series producer took over and turned the show into Baywatch Transformers that killed it entirely for me.
When he said "wanna go old school?" for a second I was hoping he'd turn into the original car (1982 Pointiac TransAm). for a bit, wich wouldve been awesome and a nice throwback.
I'd say that the series had some potential, but they went over the top with all of those unrealistic transformations. For example, in this scene KITT could just change it's color and number plate. The ability to transform in any sort of a vehicle makes many problems that heroes face too easy to resolve. Yet at the same time I like the idea of molecular shell that can be penetrated if it gets a lot of damage. As well as that you need a running computer that would actually control regeneration process.
The pilot was perfect to this series... then they went and made KITT transform... and they lost me. I still watched the series but I much preferred the nano tech over the transforming.... guess they were trying to cash in on the whole transformers movies thing at the time 🤷♂️ Val Kilmer really grew into the role as the voice of KITT, that was something I really liked from this one and only season
Well see the whole nano-tech thing made so much more sense than the old indestructible molecular shell. It also allowed the transformation thing, which I agree was a joke, to kind of make sense. Kitt was nothing more than a big bundle of moving nano-particles that could be whatever it wanted.
This is clearly a Ford sponsored program 🤣 I was in College when I saw this, didnt expect I just realized it just right now seeing it unexpectedly. A Ford Shelby contolled a big black bad Chevy Pick up nice advertising though 🤣
This is a regular practice in the movie industry. Original Knight Rider also had contracts with GMC, otherwise they would have to actually buy or rent all the cars we see in the show.
@@ReasonX3 you should watch the knight rider historians UA-cam channel… they did buy several of the cars in the first season and a train wreck carrying a bunch of the cars enabled them to get more for pretty much free on the condition they were crushed after filming.
3-D object generator. Is that just a fancy way of calling it a 3-D printer? I'm also guessing they didn't realise that 3-D printers are been around since the 1970s
This was a great continuation of the original series, bringing things up to the 'then' moden era pretty well considering. And yes, a continuation, not a reboot, remake, retelling, all new and for now canon. Shame it was only 1 season.
I agree with you. Among the many attempts of Knight Rider that they have made so far, this is the only one that has all of the elements from the original show that we all know and love. Not only that, this show also made me realize that you don't necessarily need a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am as KITT. How cool is that?
I wanted to watch this but only one season makes me not want to bother. I was a kid when the 80s reruns were fresh. Why was this new one such a prob? Was the original just right place right time?
Actually, it really wasn't. That entire first season was a bit all over the place. And the whole terrorist-of-the-week thing got old fast. Also, killing off two main characters halfway through the first season didn't exactly bode well... As a last ditch effort they tried to build up to the format known from the old series... but too little, too late.
good more or less but the transforming thing from kitt rediculess . i liked the idea of having a updated car but they totaly ruined the serie with a car that could transforme in a pickup or old school mustang ect ... its same thing with the super porsuit mode in the old night rider why why the hell do that it was all ready limit with the super boost jumps nan they have kild the series them self by this kind of bad thing and the montage of the transforming is way to visible that its a montage made on a pc
Transformer car is little bit silly they should stop with simple colour change but main problem of many (almost all) shows is poor writing and even poorer casting ending up with unlikable characters, sidekicks that are overtaking show and weird actors who cannot act.
It wasn't a remake it was a carry on from the original with a new high tech kitt built by the same guy who built the original. Which was driven by the son of the original Michael Knight.
"it will be impossible to get him out"
1980s Kitt: 👀👀
1980's KITT always saved Michael from local prisons in small towns that are far easier to penetrate.
@@ReasonX3 yep. KITT was always down for the penetration 😂
I was surprised I totally missed this reboot of knight rider. Then I watched a few clips and now I’m not surprised.

should have been something like that from the start. not a Ford shitbox
It was a good series; not as good as the original, but still good.
I wish this show lasted longer
This series was cancelled waaaay to soon. Sure, season 1 had flaws, but it was good nevertheless. Better than TKR, or the movie.
It was trash.
I really enjoyed this series such a shame it got cancelled so early.
Patrick Yip shut up hater
yeah people didn't like this series because it's too much CGI and not impress like old kitt

Recently discovered that the voice of Kitt here is Val Kilmer.
Iceman? Nice

Yeah in the pilot KITT did what change color not becoming a whole diffrent car
This series was better than McGyver Reboot series.
Before tesla self driving, there was Ford Mustang Kitt 3000
More like Pontiac Firebird Trans Am/ Knight Industries Two Thousand (OG KITT) from the 80's
@@Velociraptor2000 yeah totally forget that
@@vampirequeen1694 why? Is Iconic

Bumblebee black edition

They were maybe around but it's not that long since they become common.
The show was made in 2008 and "3D Printer" as a colloquialism hasn't been around as long as you think.
This was a great continuation of the original series, bringing things up to the 'then' moden era pretty well considering. And yes, a continuation, not a reboot, remake, retelling, all new and for now canon. Shame it was only 1 season.
It was a semi retelling. Since both shows had a KARR that both turned out exactly the same way.

Man I love ford mustang the most coolest car ever not the series but do you guys like the series
are you all there in the head? Ford mustangs are absolute shit. worst car ever built.

don't like new kitt new voice
@@balasoori As a lover of the 80´s Knight Rider, i found Val Kilmer´s performance as a Mustang KITT pretty solid.
balasoori it was originally going to be Will Arnett
SaadTheLegend true!
Is this guy from pumped up kicks???
The problem of this show is the poor acting from almost everybody, especially the lead actress.
i love them both
Its a show with a high tech car i dont care about acting give me car action
There's a reason for that.
Pretty much all the KR 2008 actors tended to star in movies like sharknado 4 or titanic 3.
That's probably episode 15
Maria Menounos?
Yes
I really hoped that by old school KITT would turn into a transam
I have issues with the name "Mike" over "Michael"
Which episode is this? ❤️
I cant remember exactly but I'm pretty sure its one of the last 5
This series was a mess but it was never given a real chance
Hola👍👍👍👍
KITT doesn't sound too friendly
Au contraire,he sounds like a saint......well,THE Saint......well,one of 'em!!
What do u expect it batman (batman forever)
Can't beat the old show...
In any case the pilot episode was very good, but the show didn't really take off
full movie
KITT ZO GOOD
it's like a transformer technology vehicle
This had potential as a concept to continue TKR but after watching this clip, i can see how poorly it was.. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
more than character of kit car , we see human face characters 👁👁🤔
They could be an actually remake. How MacGyver and so.
Cant Knight 2000 and the Hoff.
✌️♥️
Erm… y eah. I’m gonna take a wild stab in the dark here and say you can’t remotely access a manual control for towing gear.
The 1 and only micheal and kitt i love are the original ones
This one seems boring
Why not blind the Windows and drive a way
because the car was described as a black ford mustang... which is what that is
why

How utterly cheesy and dreadful is this?..noooooo!
the worst thing they did was make KITT a Ford piece of shit. main reason i never watched it.
This series is full crap, 80's is the best, it's cult series.
All the Knight Rider remakes were TERRIBLE! HORRIBLE! JUST NO!
