Congratulations on completing the ride. Don't be afraid of doing a SS1K on two lane highways, especially if you don't live on the east coast. When towns are farther apart you can do the 1000 miles in 20 hours. For example my first SS1K was around Lake Superior which includes less than 100 miles of interstate and the preadamite speed limit was at the time 55 MPH. (2017)

Yeah. Unfortunately, where I live, towns are close and low speed limits. Congrats on your rides as well

Very good. I figured that particular kind of bike is not best for that but you did it. From your tattoo you must have been a marine I gather. I was active army. Having been in ground forces like the marines and army has a tendency to cause us to be a little tougher and less likely to complain about hardships like discomfort for example. If you were in the marines then I know you know how to be uncomfortable. We often were uncomfortable in the field overseas . If you are a marine veteran I bet it helped you do it whether you thought about it or not. Good information and sound suggestions you made.

Yeah. Was in the Marines and yes, I tend to not complain about discomfort as much. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Any recommendations for mapping out the ride and gas stops? I haven't had much luck with free services for this. Semper Fi and thanks for the video.

Semper Fi Devil Dog! I can't speak for other places but around here, we had several directions we could go. South and North were not good options due to heavy traffic and boring scenery. West had two options but one was gonna be slower and we had to do milage and do it fast. So that left us with the route we picked. We didnt plan gas stops, we just started looking for a gas station when I knew I was about 20 or 30miles from my fuel light coming on. Gas stations around here aren't hard to find so that was not an issue.

Good deal. We will be leaving from around Aiken, SC or Augusta, GA. Potentially heading to West Palm Beach or towards Kentucky.

@@jluv420 I'd go KY. At least you get better scenery and curves. Going to FL will be flat, boring and heavy traffic. That's why we chose NC to KY. I'm glad we did that.
