Right cos most other anarchists don't think. They just cruise around drawing circles A's and saying fuck the govt. You should think ya fuckn spastic!! Go on I know you want to sook about that word being used. Unfortunately it's about context. Ggf'd
It's truly amazing how good Zounds sound all these years (DECADES!) later. More amazing still is the fact that today, with tyranny now ruling the entire globe with an iron fist, Zounds' vision and messages are more relevant and prophetic than ever before.
Zounds were a great band they had a much less abrasive/more accessible sound (radio friendly) then any other acts on the crass record label...i always thought they could get on the radar and become very big and successful. Crass did right by signing these fellas. Steve Lake gave me and my band (7th day creeps) permission to cover was/subvert...he's a good fella and was an e-mail pen pal w/me for a few yrs after i went thought my divorce. And b/t/w crass stands for...citizens reacting against a sick society.
This is a great tribute song to Woody Guthrie, can still hear his basic riff in there but brilliantly executed update, same sentiments from Depression America of the 30's to Thatcher's Britain of the 79-80's. Zounds live on, but all members now either inactive or scattered around other band projects. If you like this, listen to Blyth Power et al...
The great thing about Zounds was them pointing out change was urgently needed but at the same time Steve didn't know 'what he could do'. I love Curse Of more so now than back in the day.
Zounds has been a awesome band! I heard them ten years ago, when i was in school. Sorry, but do you have full lyrics of this song ("This Land")? I love it! Cheers from Colombia!
This land is your land and this land is my land From the dirty water of the river Thames To the rusting cranes of the tee another tyne The land that's choking with wires and plugs Strangles with fences and stuck with knives Was this land made for you and me? This town is your town and this town is my town From the derelict slums that are dirty and grey To the house on the hill in the private estate The places nice kids would never go To the places no-one else has the right to go Was this land made for you and me? Made for you and me This street is your street and this street is my street From the broken phone box where the gangs all meet To the glass on the path that cuts your feet To the neighboors next door who refuse to speak ? To the cope in the hunter doing it's bleak? Was this land made for you and me? It's your world too you can do what you want It's your world too, it's your world too...
Always thought of zoundz as the thinking man's anarchists. Been listening to the album version for 38 years, no idea this version existed; fantastic

Bring back Punk
misternylon We still got green day!!!
bruno Ibarra hahaha good one!
+bruno Ibarra hoping thats satire.
there is still real punk bands its just not a new movement like it was back in the day but there are still real punks that live the life style
It never went away you know.
well this is the first song i have herd from them and i like it,yet its one of those things, i have to be in the mood for softer punk.
For me it's kind of the other way around, I have to be in the mood for harder more abrasive punk sounds.
Poison Joe that and listen to it less not to wear it out. depending on the band some hardcore punk is soft. its the vocals that are brutal.
softer punk ? ffs this is hard core Anarcho
ITS YOUR WORLD
Its your world too, its your world too!
