The interview & concert took place at The Winter Gardens, Blackpool, Holidays In The Sun in 1996, as the 20th Anniversary of Punk Rock, promoted by Darren Russell
They're good, I think their early stuff was quite poetic whilst raw, and tuneful whilst very DIY. But they're too right on for my tastes. Immigration isn't always an unqualified good. I suppose their attitude towards all that goes with the territory. I expect they believe in the climate crisis too.
I grew out of punk mostly just the sound its enough already when you're old(for me the majority of time anyway) but zounds were timeless. Even their more political songs were jams like biafra & reworked version of this land are some of my favorite
RIP Lawrence. Saw Steve with current Zounds lineup 2 weeks ago. They were superb

Very underrated group, but easily one of the best
Definitely underrated music, and he has good insight into the original UK scene.

Zounds are so influential that their point to destroy it all just took another life. But is very on point today also.
Is this part of crass?
No, they're like a better, more tuneful Crass.
Actually very politically influenced bey them or ''disciples'' of Crass or their peers and published records under their label.
