Was born in ‘87 and discovered this in the early 2000’s and NEEDED to hear this EP today in 2020, still know the words and it’s just perfect.

Just discovered this two days ago and now I can't get it out of my head. I can't believe I've been listening to punk since the 90's and didn't know ZOUNDS.
This is one of those bands that when UA-cam busted wide open, everybody discovered! Because I had friends that listened to crass and conflict and bands like that but never heard of Zounds until like 2004. I think unless you were in the U.K you probably would've never heard of them

The CRASS label held its weight right alongside Small Wonder and Stiff!. The early 80s British stuff was really something. The other EP I really enjoy on the crass label is from the snipers. Check out their main track from the ep
Spent an evening with zounds after they played in Birmingham, thanks to Andy for introducing the band to us fans.

Completely original and genre defying. They had the gift of talent to write, play and sing like no other group. Catchy? Oh you bet! Social message? Profound "yes". Though it hails from a different era, this stuff is timeless, a truly beautiful work of heart.
What a great record, played it over and over again.
I remember taping this off the radio when I was in my teens, playing off a college station in Boston. I still remember the words.

Couldn't agree more fella. In fact all 3 of these songs show just how little we've learned or evolved in 37 long years. It made me angry when I was a teenager but now just makes me sad.

Reminds me of when I was 13 and I loved this stuff. I still do and I always will.
Such a classic single & band still remember buying it when it came out sound a as good now as then glad I still have it.
I remember back in highschool some good looking punk rock girl was selling her patches, I can't remember which patch I bought from her but I accidentally took her Zounds patch, she asked me if I took it, I said yes and she told me to keep it not having a clue who these guys are, just last year I looked them up on UA-cam and listen to this EP and instantly loved it..
40+ years took me to discover this EP. Love it

Remember when this came out, we all had an attitude back then..may not evoke the same feelings as back then, but sure is one of the all time greats of real music.

Thanks a million fot posting this. A great band ! In the late 70's The band I was in ( SUBURBANS) did the supporting-act for them in the KAASEE-club in Rotterdam ( the Netherlands).

Lols I went to grade school and freshman year,hung around a punk band called noise fatigue on the island lols I was 10 in 83
And here I thought I was pretty familiar with the obscure anarcho bands of old. But this one escaped me completely. It really holds up. Thanks for posting.

Somebody (I know not who to this day) handed this to me on a cassette at a show in 1993 or so, and it blew my goddamned teen aged mind.

My mind was blown seeing a punk with a Trenchcoat wearing a plastic bowl on his head. He had U. K. Subs written on his back. Me go record shop snatched their Brand new Age album and a new punk was born. 🤩😊🌪️

ngl I was kinda surprised to find an old anarcho-punk band from my hometown. Reading's radical scene has a surprising amount of history bubbling under the surface. I once stumbled across online some anarchist pamphlets produced here in the early 90s. I keep being pleasantly surprised
