This video includes detailed views of all the shifting components, case splitting, and transmission removal to hopefully lighten the anxiety that comes with your first bottom end rebuild. - Авто та транспорт
Every time I would watch one of your YT shorts I would just wish I had a fraction of this knowledge to tinker away..
This series will be gold for people like me, much appreciated!
I love these long videos. You should definitely make some more. They are so fun to watch
More to come!
yeah man i need more from northwest moto university
@@nwmotogarage
I can't thank you enough for these long form instructional videos. Growing up I was never taught anything mechanical so I know nothing about engines and I really want to learn. I hope you start a patreon or something and post more videos like this so guys like me can learn how to work on my own bike
So so so cool to read things like this from you guys, you are very welcome
i completely agree, there needs to be more of this content on youtube!
i’m trying to rebuild an 04 raptor 50 for my daughter for this summer, keep this stuff coming!
100% this!!! I’m a visual learner so the video w/ detailed explanations are helping me so much. I’d love to see more like this. Maybe a full bike tear down or any rebuilds of suspension, carbs, anything!
i’d watch a video with no cuts or edits of a full year down lol
always loved your shorts and these long form videos are great for my learning and background noise, love this stuff man!
Love a good background video
Awesome video cant thank you enough, I just got done with my 04 Trx 450 rebuild. I put a hotrods +3 stroker crank in it and it rips. Cool thing is you posted this video the day I got the cases split. You do a great job of keeping things simple, explaining things, lastly making these engines less scary to get into for the first time.
I always prefer to put zip ties on the ends of the transmission shafts so the gears are less likely to come apart until I’m ready to break them down for inspection. AWESOME video, I love your organization!
Great tip Matt!
Dude you made this look simple! Please do more of these! I subscribed because of this video!!!
Really glad you done a long video. Its very satisfying to watch and sometimes helpful running a shop myself. Currently have 2 customers cr 250s in the shop now one is 2011 the other 2012 . I hope there is more to come.
You the man! Thanks for posting this man, I’m about to tear down my 450. But should I be expecting a reassembly vid anytime soon?😅 keep up the great vids!
Most informative rebuild video I've found, great channel, keep em comin!
please keep making more of these videos. I love dirtbikes and want to learn how to work on them!!!!!
Dude this is gold so inspiring to try it your self
This is so helpful, can’t wait!
Glad to see you doing longer form content. Very cool!
Really enjoy the shorts but this is very helpful stuff even if it’s not the same engine. Done a few two strokes but in the middle of doing my first 4 stroke ( a 90 DR250) that has a torched head lol.
Been a subscriber since your 450R rebuild series. Your shorts are awesome but I live on these full-length vids 🤩 keep it up!
This is so cool, really neat to hear from one of the OG’s
I can’t even express how much I’ve been waiting for a engine rebuild video I’ve watch every rebuild ever posted on UA-cam and this is by far the most instructional video on UA-cam keep up the amazing work and I’ll spread the content 👍🎉
So genuine and I would even say heartfelt, thank you kind sir, I’m glad I could provide some level of help! I asked my viewers what were more difficult and portions of doing a rebuild and I tried to highlight those. Does the first person view help?
I love the full vids man! It really helps me learn so much so when I work on bikes I can always come back to this! Definitely worth your time to subscribe guys!
Absolutely love this! Glad I can inspire and share some tips with you guys
Really nice video keep doing that support from Slovenia👍
Almost completely identical to a ‘03-‘08 CRF450R/X
The TRX Electric start is even closer it’s crazy
Definitely do more of these!! Awesome work.
Thanks! Will do!
Great video. I think you might be missing a few “L’s”. Maybe they got ground up when the rod bearing gave out. Regardless, very informative.
Hello from Romania,you have a awesome garage🤘
Just started working on my husqy, taking the top end off so this comes in perfectt!
Amazing Work!
Saludos desde España, una maravilla la manera de explicar mecanica asi da gusto!! A la espera de la segunda parte sobre el trx450r 2004, tengo una propia y me gustaria seguir viendote para poder aprender sobre ella
Bought my 05 3 years ago and when I first got it it blew the big end rod bearing in 2 hours lol. Had to get new left center case and updated welded and trued crank and a whole shit load more of upgrades
Love this, more please!
Great video need more like this you should also do a video of the tools you use/need during each long instructional videos
Mann I remember I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning, these long videos are something I’d really enjoy if you kept posting them
Great to hear! I will probably post them more often if this mini series goes well enough. Like and share and let’s see what happens!
Man this it great I have the same atv and have a spare engine I’m planning on building 😊
Oh well then that’s perfect! Make sure you get that service manual
I love these videos. Thank you.
I enjoy the shorts but they are not enough content for my taste 😂
Well they pay the bills so that’s nice but I love the feedback! Definitely will be posting the assembly soon
love the long videos make more🙏🙏🙏
Thanks so much!
Cool video, would love to see a 2 stroke dirt bike tear down
Thank you for sharing the great information!
You are very welcome Logan
We need more videos like these love your shorts too tho 👍
Promise there will be more!
I love to watch youre videos. I really want to work on bikes to
You should do it!
I picked up a 2017 crf450r after watching your first rebuild video of the 08 450r
Wow really? Thats great! I would stick with Honda for sure
Pls post 2 part !!!
Do you have any tips for doing a complete top end on a 5 valve yz450 motor
Where are you getting your online service manuals? Great series looking forward to it 👍
Usually EManuals gets covered every time
Can you make the reassembly video?
When is part 2 coming? Will be doing my motor soon!
i love this series already, i have a 2019 crf250r that leaks oil out of the unicam weep hole for the spark plug, my mechanic tried replacing every gasket supposedly and it keeps leaking from the hole
Hmmm, I don’t have much for you there, but I wish I did 😩
all good man, i dont have experience building motors or anything but hopefully after a few of your videos i have some courage to open it up and try to fix the leak@@nwmotogarage
i’m a pastor at a church in massachusetts! i live right by southwick! Don’t know if i’d ever fully walk away from that but looking for something to do on the side!
When is pt 2 coming out ??
Now that the easy part is done, time to get to the the second easiest part lol
Haha bit more technical for sure, but step by step it’s not bad
Hey I can’t find a shot with the brand showing.
What engine stand are you using?
Nihilo concepts
Trx motor been through it
Is it normal to have your clutch oil turn light gray
Yes, mine does alllllll the time
just a quick questin could u see from outside the motor that the cylinder was never taken off?
I could not
@@nwmotogarage well some guy came and said that it was never rebuild it even tho it was, just from looking the cylinder and bolts
Where can I find a printable formula for recording valve clearances?
Not sure if anyone has made them publicly
@@nwmotogarage Could you send me this pattern?
A lot of this knowledge should apply to most single cylinder engines right? Dirt bikes, grom etc?
Exactly!!! Even two strokes, everything is laid out the same in the bottom end except for the balancer shaft and the timing chain
Wheres part two
First viewer
Haha first viewer for the “new” channel! Let’s see if my editing and filming have improved from my build series
Pawls not paws. The ones in the gearbox that you keep calling paws are forks not paws or pawls.
Second viewer
Instead of wearing that helmet, you can just get a strap that goes on your head and the go pro goes on it.
Ahhh yes, the “I know a better way comment” I get hundreds of these 🤦🏻♂️
@@nwmotogarage just trying to help
And you put a Chinese crank in it!
You spelt “OEM Replacement” wrong
