You sound like me when you build lol 😆 that's awesome I did the same swearing when I built my 1998 rm250
I don’t anything you own but somehow I end up watching all the tutorials
@@thomaskarakashyan5143 haha, I appreciate that man
Do I own a ktm 350, no. Did I just watch this entire video, absolutely.😂
I don’t even have a dirtbike at all
Ligit 😂
I watch all his videos! Start to finish....no fast forwarding!
@@leehuntley189 I’m getting there fast.
@@kieserchristensen843 you guys are awesome - thank you
Can't lie that cam chain had me dying😂
plastic gears on a KTM of all bikes blows my mind. "I can sell this on ebay" and immediately blowing up the trash can will never get old!
Haha for real Mike always cracks me up with that 😂
That's an older engine. Notice the clutch has 6 springs? Haven't made that in a couple years. Beta is famous for plastic gears.
@@williamcrotts7054 05 yz125 im rebuilding won't go into 5th & 6th when bench shifting, what could be the problem? Split it back open everything looks as it should in the service manual. Put it back together and had same problem!
@@minecrafthacker9582 If first you don't succeed .....................
You’re the man Michael. Love your content. You had me cracking up on the plastic gear in the trash bit. So funny. I very much enjoy when you show the true frustration of what it takes sometimes building engines etc. I can definitely relate. Thanks man can’t wait to see the bike done
Woman, get me a beer. It's Michael Sabo time!
Your content just gets better and better. Your attention to detail is awesome man keep it up thank you 👍
As usual the engine is a work of art. Simply Amazing..😊
For that style oil screen the easiest way I found was a use a long extension and it in the center and slide the filter down into place. Seats super easy. no fumbling with plyers.
Awesome video as usual Mike.
Spinning table …awesome build….looks exceptionally clean
She’s going to be beautiful brother
I always look forward to the engine builds, your engines always look so good with the contrasting clutch and fly wheel covers 👌 even the hardware being coated makes such a difference 🔥
i've been following your series since forever. Espicially this one.
Zip tie for the cam chain. 😂
Life is fun.
Looks BEAUTIFUL
great vid man.
Beautiful job Mike. I was going to say you do this so effortlessly these days, but then you showed your bloopers, Ha Ha Ha. Still, I remember back awhile ago you were struggling with this. You've come a long way bro, keep it up. Looking forward to seeing the project completed and you riding it.
Great video mike I've pretty much seen every video you've ever made love them all thanks for all the great content year after year
I would highly recommend getting a dirt tricks timing chain tensioner. The stock ktm ones do work but I always replace them. It converts into a more Japanese style where it’s not dependent on oil pressure the chain will always be under spring tension. If it ever stretches itll self adjust
Great vid!! You wrenching is what I signed up for!!
First time viewer. Love the commentary and dedication to good camera shots. Great vid 👌
really enjoy your content Mike!
Cable tie on a cam chain is a easy way of keeping them up high without issues
Let’s gooooooooo thanks for inspiring me to fix my bikes up and ride again Mr. Sabo
Yo home slice! That engine looks so sick dude!! I really need to zinc bolts on one of my next builds. Really just takes it to the next level!!
Another banger lad love how ya make it soo easy looking haha keep up the awso e builds
Due that engine looks GREAT! 😎
hopefully you didn’t forget to put that copper washer back on that bolt for the crank 😂
thank god you used the titanium valves, had me worried for a moment.
The engine color scheme resembles the Husqvarna colors for its plastics as well as the engine. I can’t remember which years had that dark blue and that brownish amber color. It truly looks good though. I can’t wait to see the bike complete with plastics. I own a 21’ KTM 450 FE and absolutely love the build quality of the engine. (Exception is the plastic oil gear or gears.) I do believe the 21’ 450s has the larger oil gear that is plastic unfortunately.
Dude....this bike is going to be so sick. The colors may not be for everyone, but I LOVE the bronze and blue. I'm glad you left some bloopers in there also.....tell your brother to never shave his curls. 😂 Looking forward to the next one. 🤘
It’s a dang shame they don’t come with manuals anymore. My 2020 did and I’ve used it a ton. Great video!
I always install the piston in the cylinder & then put the last clip in
Oh, 1 more thing. I just recently found out about that "put the piston in the cylinder first" thing, tried it, and I'll be damned, it works great. So much easier. Why didn't I know about that earlier?
those ktm circlip on the 4 stroke pistons are a pain in the assto put on without the ktm tool
I'm quite confident that is not a steel gear but actually a Powdered Metal gear.
Likely steam treated iron with copper and carbon.
Could be wrong. But based on the outside appearance, looks just like the PM gears I see every day.
Another great video Mike.
Keep up the great work!
When are you going to come ride with us up in MI?
Great color combo. I was waiting for this post really wanted to see how bad ass this motor was going to turn out. Not disappointed at all. Love the plastic tray idea worked out well. I need to get some of those where can I get them from.
just sat down to eat, i love you
Next time, try and put a zip tie on the cam-chain, it's alot easier to fish it through
Great video
Good video like to see you do a Honda fl 350 Odyssey know u would make it bad ass
Love it. Never stop exploding your trash!!
You should do a collab with kincade!!
How many times did you take that thumbnail?
hahaha you have no patience grasshoppa! hahahahaha
did you replace the all the transmission / crank bearings in that bad boy?
I didn't know you can get the engine blasted and the bearings would be ok
3:47 did you talk high pitch on purpose lol
You do really good work, but I wouldn’t own a four stroke dirtbike if you gave it to me. I grew up racing in the 70s with the two-stroke was the bike that we rode. There was some chrome and black. Not blue and black gun metal stuff like that, unreal
What are your thoughts on gear oil? I’ve got a huskey 125 and I’m considering ATF for smooth clutch engagement. Since you are a KTM guy now I’m curious if you're going with service manual recommendations or if you're using something different. Thanks man and great video as usual!
I think u forgot to put the washer on the top dead center sight hole
Is there no Clymer books?
hey michael i love your vids and might be getting a lt500 after selling my yfz is there any specific info you have about them?
Gonna be badass!🤟
@MichaelSabo ‼‼‼‼‼
Hi,
Only one comment regarding assembly. Did u set the axial play of the crankshaft? Because if u didn´t this can significantly influence the life (or destroy) of the crankshaftbearing if there is too little or too much play. The free-play is set with shims underneath the inner bearing ring. (Refer to repair manual for the exact value)
Freeplay is measured with a gauge in line with the assembled crank case (gasket thickness is important/new gasket must be used for final installation) where you push on the crank from one side.
Since you did not use a gasket the play is probably too little.
Greetings from Austria
Please like so he can see this comment to save the engine ❤
why you been gone for 2 weeks but not me?
I read this in dr disrespect voice and laughed hard
Personally, when I tap something, i twist a couple times, then back the tap out a bit and keep tapping. Great build video - as usual. F@ckin exploding garbage can item never gets old in my book. I laughed out loud at that. Pro-x makes the stainless valves and springs kit. You could have gone that route.
Typical KTM oil filter cap thread woes! Seems, it's in the genes!
Hey Mike could u help me with my 2000 yz426f?
That cap for the oilfilter. 5nm torque. Not 40nm.... Use a 10mm short spanner and tighten it with your fingers... The oring do NOT like overtight bolts! Just about over fingertight!
Otherwise great build👍
I enjoy the rebuild vids, but instead of the irritating background music, just a quick description of the parts you are installing. Some of us aren't engine masters, so it would be informative.
Nice,,, now will it start ? Lol
That wasn't a thermostat it was a temperature thermistor or temperature sending unit
The adult lego set😅
12:35, this was pretty funny NGL :D LMAO
🤩🤩🤩👍👍👍👍👍👍
Sexy build 😮
ah using a plastic nail this time to immobilize the gears
At 6:16 I could already see that it was too much, they only got 10Nm.🤯
Jesus f...... christ. Im f...... starving 😂
Did I lose my badges
🫡🤝🤘🔥
Thumbnail should read how to dump more money into a dirt bike than it's worth
You should have reused that plastic gear. It would have been a great way to save some weight. Race bikes need to be as light as possible
Michael find us. Its called. "KTM 640 riders group"
Yiu tube are actively deleting my comment because i wrote a word that includes books and faces.
We are about 15000 all vetted by yours truly and the knowledge are amazing and everyone are ready to help out any questions or concerns. And btw, we love cool bikes. Just take a gander at the GULF bikes I've made.
HOW IS MIKE ONLY AT 230K SUBS? LETS GET HIM A MILLION CMONNNNN
I love how you don't remove the frustration or bloopers it makes it feel way more realistic!!! Live the videos love the recent bike content as I'm a bike rider myself.
Woooo!!!! That garbage can scene took me out you was shuffling across the garage for a hot minute 🤣🤣
You missed a small O ring that sits inside the sparkplug tunnel (where the ignition coil is placed)
As much as you work on atv you should invest into a couple conmen timesert kits
Awesome Mike! 💪
Great video man love the vids keep it up ❤❤
Thank you man!
You should really consider doing a yfz450 -05 engine build 😅 it’d be a huge help lol
51k 10 days ago😮
🔥
Air compressor is a paid actor 😂
Just got caught up on this series yesterday, great timing! Love your work man, your builds are second to none!
trust me, the camshaft installation position is very wrong at 180°.
how is the condition of your valve now? is it still usable?😅
If I guess correctly one of your parents could be Hungarian? 🧐
Anyway, nice job! 🤟
9000$ for the rebuild? I found complete engines for 3.5k, why he didnt do just swap?
The air compressor lol 😂
Also Mike I’m glad there’s people like you who have this knowledge I would have thrown the whole thing through a wall lol 😂 great video per usual!
Love your videos and watch from start to finnish, but quit crying online.
Awesome build! Appreciate the how to on the helicoil, good to know!
Dont forget to remove the bolt, that holds the crank in top dead center ( the bolt with the big crushwasher)
"we don't wanna put this thing together dry" ... continues to put it together dry.
My personal opinion which doesn't matter is I love the color scheme of the engine but hate the hi-viz color scheme. The color scheme's of the 1995 and 1996 KTM 550 MXC would of been dope for this build but thats my opinion which again doesn't matter! Love your build's though, you do high quality work and your video editing skills are high quality as well!
Do I wish I had an awesome dirt bike like this hell yes and do I wish I could do everything you do bro hell yeah I don’t even have a mx bike anymore unfortunately but that’s a long story anyway always love your build and videos bro.big love and respect from the uk 🇬🇧.
Great job, I have a 23 XCF and was very interested. I knew what was going to happen on the oil filter screws. Hand tighten only.
Brings back memories from my 2015 350 build! Great bikes. Also, my membership got refunded? Is that no longer a thing?
I just print the PDF manual, hole-punch it, and put it in a binder. It's more durable anyway. Plus you can store receipts and other relevant stuff with it.
Hey man idk if you are gonna respond, but i have a 80cc 2 stroke suzuki quad. it can start with no choke and run ok, but as soon as i give it more than half trotle it just kinda dies away. the only way it will run is if i give it choke. i have tryed to put the little ring on the needle all the way down to give it more fuel but it didnt help. do you have an idea why it happends?
