I tried this method and it has been a success. I had exactly the same results as the video. Now, I have fresh cilantro any time of the year. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for this. I had tried germinating cilantro several times in the Aerogarden with no success.. I tried your method, and now I have healthy little cilantro plants growing. Thanks again!
Thanks so much for this video. I followed your instructions and now have fresh cilantro growing extremely well in my Aerogarden! I'm looking forward to using the cilantro in my tacos.
Thank you for the video. I followed your instructions and now I have cilantro seedlings growing. I am very excited about this because we eat a lot of cilantro!
Your videos are so helpful! I didn’t know that cilantro was another problem child like spinach. I’m trying this method and hopefully I get some growth. I’m definitely following your videos. If you don’t mind, could you share how you use your MaxiGro? I was thinking of switching to this since it’s super economical. Do you just add the dissolved 1tsp into the reservoir and top off with water whenever the food light comes on? Make sure to change out the water at least every 4 weeks?
I take a teaspoon (for Aerogarden Harvest) of Maxi Gro nutrients into a bottle (preferably a transparent bottle to see through) and add some water. Shake them until the dry nutrients are fully dissolved. It will take about 5 minutes to dissolve completely. Once dissolved, pour into the reservoir. You might see a few small particles undissolved but that's ok. Must change the water every 4-6 weeks.
Harvest models have lot of gaps around the grow deck which will leak the light into the water and encourage the algae. So, I wrapped it with foil to block the light and prevent algae growth. Please check this video in which I have shown the problem clearly ua-cam.com/video/rpPPc6WP9lI/v-deo.html
Question, do they just keep on producing a thicker amount of leaves? I would like a large amount of cilantro, or parsley, regularly and was wondering how to achieve that? Thank you :)
Yes, when I grew Cilantro last time, it lasted for 3 months and produced a lot of leaves. I never had a great luck with Parsley. It was keep on dying with a month or 2 in Aerogarden where as the same survived well in soil in my backyard.
Thanks for this. I've had mixed results with growing cilantro. I hadn't heard of splitting them in two. I'll definitely give that a try! I'm also using MaxiGro some. Have you tried MaxiBloom for your fruiting plants?
I haven't tried Maxi Bloom yet. What I learned is that the AG nutrients comes with pH balance and Maxi nutrients doesn't. So, I am not comfortable using Maxi all the way to the blooming and fruiting stages yet. I am learning it more and I am going to give it a try some time soon.
@@aerogardenexperiments thanks for your response. There are some people in the Enthusiasts group who are using just MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom instead of AG nutrients. Some swear by it, but it makes me nervous to switch from the AeroGarden nutrients that have worked so well for me on those things that take more time to grow. I'm not as concerned about experimenting with and potentially messing up something like bok choy that takes just a few weeks to grow. I did buy both MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom (they were sold together), but so far MaxiBloom is just sitting in my cabinet.
Hi, I have been using half a teaspoon of MaxiGro nutrients for every 1 liter of water. This has been working very well for all herbs, lettuce, and leafy green vegetables. In the earlier days of using MaxiGro, I was using 1 teaspoon for every 1 liter of water and this was what I mentioned in some of my older videos. Over the period, I tested it and found that ½ of a teaspoon of nutrients for 1 litter of water is well enough.
Thank you so very much!! I ordered MaxiGro and also started the process of sprouting my cilantro seeds before putting them in my aerogarden. Every time I try and grow cilantro, the seeds just become moldy and never sprout. Thankful I found your videos and method that you use!!
I usually wait for the seedlings to develop nice and then add the nutrients. Germination does not require any nutrients. As long as there is no nutrition added to water, you don't see any algae. Once the seedlings show up, they will start blocking the light going onto the sponges. Covering the holes also a good idea for first few days. But some seeds germinate in a day or two so we need to keep checking.
Any fan works. Some thing like this will be convenient to use. www.amazon.com/dp/B00YU0W3CY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_fabc_2VJXFT55MP0BXYPAZ543?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
2-3 plants per pod works best. So, start with 3 seeds in each pod. Basil has pretty good germination rate. You mostly get all 3 seeds germinated. But even 2 seeds germinated, that fine.
I love cilantro. But when I grew it I used Tomato Masterblend. It tasted like soap. I am NOT one of those genetic soap cilantro people. It makes me believe there is a flavor spectrum for cilantro… that if the flavor is more concentrated it will taste like soap. I think Masterblend is too strong of nutrients for Cilantro. Next time I grow Cilantro, I will use MaxiGrow.
Try reducing the amount of nutrients you are feeding. I am pretty sure that makes some difference. If you are feeding 2 tea spoons, cut it down to 1 tea spoon. Changing the water also makes a big difference.
@@aerogardenexperiments I have been using 1 teaspoon in my bounty model. With only 3 cilantro pods,1 Rosemary pod ( very slow grower) , 1 pepper pod. I will try reducing the solution. Thanks
I heard many people had issues growing cilantro in Aerogardens and was looking for a reliable method. Your video delivers exactly that. Huge thanks!
Yeah, I also struggled in the past to get them germinate and have a successful and tasty yield. Now, it never stops.
I tried this method and it has been a success. I had exactly the same results as the video. Now, I have fresh cilantro any time of the year. Thank you for sharing!!
I love seeing the little hands of your assistance 🥰 so precious 🙏🏽
Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your success.
Thank you so much! I was wondering why my cilantro seeds weren't sprouting, but I will try your germination process before planting in AeroGarden.
Thanks so much for this video. I followed your instructions and now have fresh cilantro growing extremely well in my Aerogarden! I'm looking forward to using the cilantro in my tacos.
That's great to hear. Thanks so much for letting us know.
I tried this a month ago. It worked perfectly and I have beautiful vibrant plants. Thanks for the instructions!
Thank you! Got an aerogarden with the explicit intent of growing lots of cilantro! This helps a lot :)
Thank you for your video. I was unsuccessful growing cilantro in AeroGarden. Tried your technique and it worked perfectly.
Your video was well done and very informative. Thank you so much for taking the time to share!
Thank you for the video. I followed your instructions and now I have cilantro seedlings growing. I am very excited about this because we eat a lot of cilantro!
this is awesome, you should get an affiliate link or something because this made me want to get an aerogarden
Thanks a million for this video. I’m getting ready to buy my first AeroGarden and look forward to growing cilantro. Great video tips!
Thank you so much, sir, for sharing wonderful tips. What a great video! I love the appearance of your little assistant. Best wishes!
Best video I've seen in this topic EVER!! Thank You!!
Wow looks awesome!!! I want to grow cilantro so bad and wasn't sure if i was doing it right. Thank you so much!
Here in the UK we call Cilantro Coriander. It's one of my favourite herbs and makes such a difference to Curries and Kormas which I love to cook.
Thank you for this video! I have tried several times to grow cilantro. I will try your method and hope for the best!
Thank you so much for this video! I don't know why cilantro has been so hard for me to grow!
Can you please share why you have aluminum around the outer edge of your garden?
I added aluminium foil to help prevent the algae. I have detailed explanation in this video ua-cam.com/video/rpPPc6WP9lI/v-deo.html
Such an amazing video. Thanks for All the tips!
I will crack my seeds and follow the way you plant into the pods! Thank you!
I’m so stoked to try this! Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. This was very useful information!
Wow! Maxigro tip. Thank you.
Thanks for this. I have had only small success with cilantro so far. Might give the dry fertilizer a try if I can find some.
Excellent video thanks
i love your videos and your excitement with results
So so helpful!! Thank you!
Thanks for the video! Can I use the same plant food that you used in your cilantro on my parsley?
Yes, MaxiGro works for any herb. In fact, Parsley will be a lot happier with MaxiGro.

Putting the seeds on the paper towel can help with other plants or just this one?
Spinach also works very well in the paper towel method.

I have tried so many times to grow cilantro but it doesn’t work at all I have even tired this way too but no luck with this method too
I love your videos tank you 🙏
New subscriber here. Did you leave all three seeds in each hole??? or did you thin them? Great video.
Yeah, I have 3-5 plants per pod.
Hi, I couldn’t find if you mentioned how much water you use with the 1tsp of maxigro? Could you please let me know how much water to use?

what is the purpose of the foil around the edge of your aerogarden
It is to block the algae building up around the edges. Please check this for a detailed explanation. ua-cam.com/video/rpPPc6WP9lI/v-deo.html
Is it possible to grow them without cracking?
yes, we can. It just takes little more time and germination rate will be little low, but it is doable without cracking the seeds.
Thank you!
Have you grown basil? If so, how many seeds/plants per pod do you recommend?
2-3 plants per pod works best. So, start with 3 seeds in each pod. Basil has pretty good germination rate. You mostly get all 3 seeds germinated. But even 2 seeds germinated, that fine.
Do you need to wet the paper towel everyday
No need to wet the paper towel daily as long as it has some moisture. But if the paper towel gets dry, please wet it.

I used the same seeds and maxi gro solution but the cilantro tastes really soapy. I don't know why =(
