    golf is truly the Devil’s work. Like trying to find the corner in a round room.

    Big takeaway for me is that to move low point of swing arc forward you must rotate open the chest to start the downswing that brings lead shoulder back and behind you. To bring LPOSA even further forward, pushing your hands further forward enables this result. I would add that the key to better rotation is to ensure one closes the gap between the upper right arm and the body (ribs, right hip , right side of chest whatever you may call it) as you shift pressure to the lead side to start the down swing.

      I think closing the gap it s the most difficult to do.i don t know why !

    With no ball I make consistent low point contact just brushing the ground at the same point. When a ball is added the strike is thin with no ground contact even if I concentrate on a spot inches ahead of the ball. Same result if the ball is placed back, middle or forward in the setup.

      Trust your set up and trust your swing. Then just swing instead of trying to hit the ball. Easier said than done though.

      fuck golf , i’m thinking of packing it in it’s just a painfully frustrating 23 years and i hit the best bucket of my life last friday, literally striping , crushing everything perfectly and i mean perfectly. I have been working so hard the past 3 years on my swing. Finally got there last friday . Shot a 90 yesterday, utter disappointment, soul shattering , fucked up crazy game. i did have a bird and some good shots but a ton of ridiculously bad ones and the issue is as always , why. It shouldn’t be so hard to be consistent.

      @@WyattScott Wednesday at the range I hit the best in my life and had everything figured out. Two days later on the course every drive was dead left. Back to the drawing board.

    I tend to thin the ball with my mid - longer irons...but have recently found that " aiming " for a spot a few inches ahead of my ball ( usually center of stance ) often helps make solid contact ....why ?

    • @tz7763
      @tz7763 11 місяців тому +1

      because you're encouraging the low point to be after the ball, which is what you want. If that's what works for you then do it but I think the end goal is to be able to accomplish this without having to fix your eyes off the ball

    So many coaching vdos are on u tube. All are good but may not be same for others. With so many drills one may still hit top or three inch behind the ball. No one shows how to aim. And where to aim. 😁😁

  • @garyjosephson2982
    @garyjosephson2982 Рік тому

    Trying to contact further forward causes lateral motion rather than rotation. Rotation moves the shoulder back, away from the ball--thinning the shot.
    What am I missing?

    May be why Jack Nicklaus played the ball forward in his stance. Just a thought.

      @@ForeverCello, LOL, I see what you did there. Joking aside, if you watch enough videos about the golf swing (raising my hand), you can find conflicting advice on just about every aspect of the swing. Strong grip vs neutral or weak grip. Upright vs flat plane. Straight takeaway vs inside takeaway.

    Whatever tip is given by pro’s, pro coaches or good amateurs golf simply is not an easy game and there certainly are no quick fixes. It is a skill and takes hours and hours of practice and competition. Some are lucky to have superior learning skills especially hand eye coordination but most of us will struggle. This is why the average club handicap just doesn’t get lower. Persevere.

      Golf is about putting in the work. If you're not doing drills at the range to improve an aspect of your swing, you're wasting your time. You're right, there are no quick fixes.

    Have you noticed how every teaching Pro contradicts themselves. Watch those who have taught the tour players, Butch Harmon and Pete Cowan. I would recommend watching Pete Cowan giving Danny Maude a lesson. The mid handicappers are always looking for something but unless we do it for a living and practice every day for a few hours, it will never be perfect no matter how many videos you watch.

      Ultimately, you are getting more time to build up speed with the ball forward in your stance, but you have to rotate open to get there with the lead shoulder coming up as you post. This is what I am getting from the ball positions relative to handicap and the thumb nail of this video.

    Show the fix! All you did was add more, do this, then you can do that, once you do that then you can do this other thing. You didn't fix anything!
