Excellent instructions again! Solving my major problem of hitting behind the ball, even though my setup position is in order. Thanks, Russell!

Yours are the best explanations I've seen related to the hands leading the club, the feeling in the hands, shaft lean, etc. I find that I can get some flyers that are related to actually striking the ball better, so need to work on this!

Great content Russell. I have been working hard trying to put pressure on the ball. But trying to get my palm facing upward to the sky makes it really hard. I think this is going to simplify things for me. It also helps to keep the arms wide on the backswing which helps a lot for the longer clubs. I really struggle with them. This also made me realise that my problem with hybrids are that I setup with my sternum too far behind the ball using them. Thanks for the help and tips.

Coming back to the fundamentals help so much! I just realized I haven't keep that trail hand parallel to the ground and away from me causing my face to open on my back swing. No wonder the pros really practice grip, posture, alignment, and balance so much.

Great video as usual Russell. My pet peeve (which has nothing to do with you) is that it’s harder and harder to find driving ranges that you hit from turf. Most places anymore use mats. I think they are pretty useless for serious practice unless you have a certified instructor who uses a launch monitor. Mats are fine to get stretched out before a round but often times, I’ll just stretch for 20 minutes at home. Anymore I uses a divot board when practicing, if there isn’t turf available. I know this is off topic but curious what your thoughts are.

I have been hitting fat for decades. Growing up we were taught not to slide our hips.
After watching one of you videos about getting the left hip past the left foot. I went up stairs to my hitting net and slid the hips forward. And like magic my low point moved significantly forward. I didn't need to think mutch about the sternum.
    👍

Wow! Great video and puts to rest one myth I have lived with for many years about where the trail palm should be pointing at the top of the back swing. Traditional teaching over the years would have the right palm or trail palm pointing upwards to the sky as if to hold a food tray. Bad bad move. As you say to keep club face from opening up too much in the backswing you want right or trail palm to point away from you to ensure club face is not opened too much in the back swing. Very insightful and to the point. Thank you.

Doesn't matter where your palm is facing as long as it goes with your swing
I could reel off 5 top golfers and all 5 haven't their palms/wrists in different positions and all 5 swing differently

Then you should be ignoring the main message of this video if you truly believe that. Maybe you should say so and back it up in your comment.

Is pressure being applied to the shaft (with right hand) at impact or has the release already begun (where the clubhead is starting to overtake the butt of the club)? I guess my question is more about compression...is it created by force on the shaft or is it created more by the release? Makes sense to keep pressure on the shaft but not sure if that would cause too many blocks to the right.

I've developed active hands and a bit closed face when striking the ball. Trying to keep club in front of me a finish.

Love ur teachings however what might be very helpful is a pro cam looking down so we see what u see at setup and point of impact

Keep hands soft, allow the lag/pressure build in trail hand and then drive that clubhead down..Watch the magic

It would be helpful if, in your videos, you ZOOMED IN on the club at address and impact, versus just talking about it. I like your videos, but just a suggestion.

Your golf advice is good. Poaching other “ great” teachers is very wise and adding your own knowledge is great.
Yet, I don’t know how much of your audience is in the UK; a good many most likely.
I wonder if they can understand you! Goodness sakes, work on your grammar and diction please! I have to shut it off.

Picked up a club for the 1st time in may aged 40, as much as I love the sport it's actually driving me demented that all I ever do is just hit the ball along with the grass
Front of stance, middle of stance, back of stance.
Doesn't matter! Every single shot just rolls along the grass, some times it rolls 100 yards but for the life of me I CANNOT get a golf ball in the air 😠😠😠
