    Nobody feels any pain
Tonight as I stand inside the rain
    Ev’rybody knows
    That Baby’s got new clothes
But lately I see her ribbons and her bows
    Have fallen from her curls
She takes just like a woman, yes, she does
She makes love just like a woman, yes, she does
And she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl
    Queen Mary
    She’s my friend
Yes, I believe I’ll go see her again
    Nobody has to guess
    That Baby can’t be blessed
Till she sees finally that she’s like all the rest
With her fog, her amphetamine and her pearls
She takes just like a woman, yes
She makes love just like a woman, yes, she does
And she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl
It was raining from the first
And I was dying there of thirst
    So I came in here
    And your long-time curse hurts
    But what’s worse
    Is this pain in here
    I can’t stay in here
    Ain’t it clear that
    I just can’t fit
Yes, I believe it’s time for us to quit
    But when we meet again
    Introduced as friends
Please don’t let on that you knew me when
I was hungry and it was your world
Ah, you fake just like a woman, yes, you do
You make love just like a woman, yes, you do
Then you ache just like a woman
But you break just like a little girl

Believe it or not, Dylan was nervous as hell about this appearance to the point where he wasn't sure he was going to go on stage. This was the first song, and you can hear the nervousness, and you can hear him slowly get over it when the crowd just loved that he was there! So, there was a time when Bob Dylan wasn't sure if he still fit into this rock world. He needn't worry, he was still the leader.

    • @dondamon4669

@@dondamon4669 But he was according to Robert Sheldon, Bob's official biographer. It was only during the first verse or so of JUST LIKE A WOMAN that the crowd went wild and in the next verse you can hear Bob coming out. Sure he is the most important artist of the 20th century, but he had only done one lame concert in 4 years, at the ISLE of White. George wasn't sure he would show up.

As for the "motorcycle accident": see the part of "Don't Look Back" where Dylan, rocking back and forth, talks about being killed in a plane crash -- a paranoid hallucination. During the tour he was overamping on amphetamine.
Did he have an accident -- or was that how he quit the tour in a way that his manager couldn't refute? In a later song about Sara, he talks about how she "pulled ne through". That wasn't about a "motorcycle accident".

I was 19 years old in 1966 in first year university when I discovered the poet-songwriter Bob Dylan. The first album I purchased was Another Side of Bob Dylan. Immediately I collected all his earlier LPs and carried through the rest - Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and the masterpiece Blonde on Blonde, with the gem that is Just Like A Woman. This performance of Just Like a Woman at George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh is simply unparalleled. Never done better before or since.

    Nobody feels any pain
Tonight as I stand inside the rain
Everybody knows that baby's got new clothes
But lately I see her ribbons and her bows
    Have fallen from her curls
She takes just like a woman
Yes, she does, she makes love just like a woman
Yes, she does, and she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl
    Queen Mary, she's my friend
Yes, I believe I'll go see her again
Nobody has to guess that baby can't be blessed
'Til she finally sees that she's like all the rest
With her fog, her amphetamine, and her pearls
She takes just like a woman
Yes, she makes love just like a woman
Yes, she does, and she aches just like a woman
But she breaks just like a little girl
It was raining from the first
And I was dying there of thirst
    So I came in here
    And your long-time curse hurts
But what's worse is this pain in here
    I can't stay in here
Ain't it clear that I just can't fit
Yes, I believe that it's time for us to quit
But when we meet again, introduced as friends
Please don't let on that you knew me when
I was hungry and it was your world
Ah, you fake just like a woman
Yes, you do, you make love just like a woman
Yes, you do, then you ache just like a woman
But you break just like a little girl

Been reading the book Blood Telegram which mentions this concert. Dylan returned to stage after a motorcycle accident. Out of recluse he gave one of his best concerts.
Harrison visits India befriends sitar maestro Ravishankar, a bengali. On his request to do something for the bangladeshis came up this concert.

Know when I first commented there was professional video of the performance which was evidently removed because of copyright violations. There is a hard to watch live video of the performance which keeps freezing that someone posted more recently which may get removed. Ringo played the drums in the original fundraiser concert, and I enjoyed the video performance so much that is too bad it was removed.

Leon Russell was a session musician who had a few years in the limelight. No big talent.
What turns me off to the music is the uncritical "If it's rock, then it's automagically genius, and anyone who happened to be in the room with [fill in the blank] is a genius and more talented than all the others who are greater talents than all the others who have no superior," blah-blah-blah.
The "Boomer" generation created a disproportionate amount of terrific music. But it also produced a disproportionate amount of garbage -- see non-studio "Grateful Dead" for a mass producer of BORING.

Nobody feels any pain...I really love this version of Just Like A Woman. I just love Bob Dylan. I wish I could have been there. I was unfortunately too young. My mother Susan loved Bob Dylan as well. God bless her soul... she's in heaven now. This song makes me think of her. After my mother's death I learned from my father that my older sister Ramona Suzanne's name was given to her because of Dylan's song called To Ramona. What a trip..as they would say in the 1970's.

As my classmates & I graduated from good 'ol Ross School, CA (class of 1971) -- this classic 3some charmed "The Big Apple"! Ahhh ....... those indeed were the days ....... filled with sunshine, the blossoming of youth, fun with friends, summer camps, our family was completely intact in perhaps the finest County in the U.S.A. ....... those of us who lived there at that time know to what I refer. George Harrison had just embarked upon his solo career with his eventual classic "All Things Must Pass"! Great times, lots of wonderful memories .......... LOVE IT (despite the troubles too numerous to describe here). Cheers from Cav on the anniversary of Mt. St. Helens, WA "blowin' in the wind"! 5/18/15.
