This was a great informative video, I'm sure the river 2 is a nice enough unit and I like that it has lithium iron phosphate batteries but I already own the river Max and I'm completely satisfied with that, I am disappointed to see that they have less 12 Volt outlets such as the 5521 barrel connector outlets because mostly I use the DC it seems to be much more efficient than the AC and allows me longer running time.

Me personally I would rather have more of the power than how many chargers you can get out of it. I would use it more as an emergency use such as power goes out or keep the refrigerator running. Charging faster is nice but not a deal breaker because it charges slower. So for me the first one would suit my need better. Thank you for the great comparison

I have the OG Rivers for emergency backup power that I have used around the house for different items. When I'm using them, I tend to run on solar pass through power. If I charge them on AC, I use slow charge if possible. I've heard that fast charging can degrade the battery quicker. I prefer to recharge my stations on solar, but recently we've been so socked in with clouds and rain it's been like living in the PNW, so the solar option hasn't been feasible. I love the improvements, but I would be more likely to purchase Delta versions in the 2 iteration. I call this the Little River, and it's really most usable with the battery expansion. I love your thoughtful reviews and comparisons! The upgraded battery is a huge bonus, but given the way I use my equipment and how new it still is, I'm happy to use what I have for quite some time. I have my eye on a Delta Pro with smart generator that I can use to run components of my household with the smart panel. Someday!

Thanks for point out the life cycle of the battery. However, I doubt if the battery will last forever if always keep it charge above 10%. In real world, most of the battery would degraded after several years or completely dead. I own Bluetti AB3A & PS70 because low cost and plan to keep them charge regularly to reduce # of cycle. I expect 5-10 cycles max per year so will see how long the battery last.

Great comparison video 👍. Good to see that ecoflow are now starting to change their units to lifep04 batteries.........it was only at the end of August that I contacted them to ask if any other units besides the Delta pro had lifep04 batteries......they replied no, so I purchased Bluetti instead. Shame that they didn't tell me that the Delta 2 and the River 2 would soon be released for sale. However, looking at the river 2 (most certainly do not like the new handle design for starters), I think that I prefer the look of the bluetti eb3a .

I had my mind set on river 2 but I didn’t know about Bluetti is it better? FYI the river 2 is $195 and the bluetti is $217 on Amazon not a huge difference and I’ve seen that the bluetti has wireless charging and a bigger battery am I missing anything else?

    • @NukePooch1
      @NukePooch1 8 місяців тому +1

@@viperomen914 Bluetti EB3A also has a better handle, two 3-prong outlets, and the DC barrel connectors. However, River 2 is lighter and cheaper. Either is a good unit, at these prices they're both a good deal. FYI, it's likely that both will be on sale for Black Friday, unsure if they'll be cheaper.

Valuable review for me! I need this for CPAP while boondocking and don't want to buy more capacity than I need but I'm also on a budget. Apparently, River is on close out prices, and less $ than River 2 was on Prime Day- which I missed because It wouldn't last through the night for me. But still... decision to make. I hate to have to pay the much larger cost of River 2 Max, but maybe for the greater warranty, I'll need to. I only have 110w solar right now.

Did they add circuitry to the River2 to make it more of a UPS so that it's not running off the battery when the battery is fully charged and still on land power so it can be used 24/7 without burning battery cycles? I saw where it has a 30ms switchover time, which makes me believe they did, but it's not mentioned much and IMO is a huge positive for me over the River 1.

The downgrade from the 100w USB-C port to the 60w port hurts the river 2 bad for me, they really cheaped out and now I have to either charge my laptop with it's AC adapter on the inverter which is MUCH less efficient or buy a 12v boost converter charger which is also not ideal.

When I buy a power bank/"solar generator" I buy it for a specific function in mind. So when I first started I was a novice to this technology and made purchases that were so so but fulfilled my requirements so no regrets as they still work and serve my needs. With technology by the time you buy an item it is already out dated. I have the river pro and bought it for its portability and to power only my dometic CFX3 45 fridge. I then added the expansion battery to prolong running the fridge just in case I run into days of inclement weather. EcoFlow gifted me the battery as a sign of goodwill for issues I head with the original purchase I made and gave me a full refund. Their customer service department rocks!
Life cycles for me is not as important because my purchases will last me a lifetime because they are not used daily and I have solar generators like jackeries and inergy apex that are years old and still working. So I would not upgrade. PS. What is the deal with not including a solar panel cable.?

I just got my River 2 today and tested it on some devices and I can back you up on what you say. Mine is brand new on sale for $210. I tested my 40 watt grow lights for my indoor garden and with all three lights it said 1 hour of run time ( approx 115 watts it registered); 2 hours with two on. I then tested my Humidifier/Fan on all three speeds and on low at around 40 watts, it showed it would run for 4 hours. I then tested a small light and it showed it would run for around 9 hours. Seems like a great machine and well made, but I also felt the run times would be longer on such small powered devices at 300 watt power and 600 peak. I see these Machines as a bit hyped up, even the large wattage ones and they dont truly give you long run times and power as they say they do; and they get up there in price. I still have a 2006 Honda 2000ie at 1600 watts power and 2000 watts power for 30 minutes and its ultra quiet gas run. I have powered two heaters of 600 and 1500 watts for hours on one gallon of gas; as well as other devices.
They need to get the tech to be able to truly run more power in one machine and for longer then "banking" on adding batteries to them to upgrade. I personally hope that someone soon truly makes one of those Magnetic spinning generators actually run and patent it to the market. Pull cord that gets the magnets rotating and powering it up. I think soo a device like this will be available and dont let the "scholars" and "laws of science' say it cant be done, it can be and will be. Consciousness is changing and evolving and so will the "laws" that governs it. A device like that will cost less and be able to build, truly sustainable and wont even need free solar to run it.

I'm at a dilemma. I got some coupons, and I can buy the eco flow river 600 for $215 or the eco flow river 2 for $190. Which should I buy !

Both of these are going for around the same price on Amazon right now, was leaning towards the river because I thought bigger battery for the same price was better😂 but damn I’m glad I watched a comparison because the river 2 seems to be way better the new battery alone makes it worth it 3k cycles compared to 500 for a 20% degradation is huge

It does have a small battery and some laptops do require more power than others. Did you try solar charging at the same time? That might help

    ECOFLOW ROBBED ME!!
I ordered x2 Ecoflow Delta 2 that cost around @2,600 dollars. . I had called customer service to cancelt them right away and I was assured that they won't be charging me for shipping because I won't get the products anyway.
After 2 weeks. They charged me shipping cost on the first order plus penalty of more than 4%. They stated that penalty is 2.6%. I felt these penalties are too much for items I have not even touched. They refused to refund me on the second order citing system error on their part.
Ecoflow are thieves who robbed their customers. Please don't purchase any Ecoflow products. Very bad customer service. They are plunderers who must be jailed and not allowed to do business in America.

Never buy directly from companies. Buy from a reputed physical store, this gives you 2 options.
