What do you recommend for a small bedroom setup... I just moved and have a small bedroom now.. I have a queen sized bed with storage underneath which helps alot with not having a lot of space and closet storage. but what would you recommend for bed layout with a chest of drawers?? I've moved the bed 3 times so far and I'm not 100% happy with it.. trying to have the most open space i can in the room without having to put the bed against a wall... any ideas and tips are welcomed

While warm white walls can make a home look more 'expensive', they are not always practical for households with children or multiple pets. The other problem with using only whites and neutrals is that, after awhile, all the houses start to look alike! I've learned that using a neutral color like pale gray, cream, or light beige is a great idea for hallways and as the main color throughout, but use coordinating colors in individual rooms, either painting a whole room in color or an accent wall. Some intense colors like burgundy, pumpkin, deep hunter green, or indigo blue is just as expensive-looking as white if the furnishings are well chosen. I have made and sold pillow covers in the past, and agree--the insert needs to be full! Also, thrift stores are absolutely a great way to make a home look classy without breaking the bank. Here in Florida, even many antique stores have quality items for great prices, and will often have a mix of both antique and newer furnishings.
I have never watched videos like this before but my wife and I just bought a house and I have been binge watching your videos all week, I can’t get enough. You’re content is amazing and I love your style. Thanks for the tips!
Notes for myself - make it neat and minimalistic - lamps. Make it look nice when you turn off the ceiling lights - arrange furniture for an experience. Avoid putting it up against the wall. - consider putting products in simple jars you label with a cricut to make it look nice (I already have a Cricut) - put pillows in cases too small for them so they'll look more fluffy and stand up better - white towels
Inspired by your cushion cover hack… I implemented my own hack; fold in a big towel or two to make a square shape and put it inside the cushion’s cover. This way it’s fuller and yes it does look better and more plush. Bonus, I got to use my mismatch bath towels in the process!
I would say an exception to the dishes rule, is fine china. Beautiful different plates that have different flowers on each plate or different scalloped edges or what not are really all beautiful, and when the table is set with fine China of different types it just looks glorious. There is an exception to every rule and I believe this is one of them. I also don’t mind beautiful glassware that’s not all the same. For example, some etched glassware, some glassware with gold fittings or gold edging, some fluted glassware, and colored glassware such as yellow or pink, ect. do not need to match at a dinner table and they still look beautiful.
Good tips for making any space look cozy and nice. I agree, most people won't even notice, but some people know luxury better than the rest. Calcutta marble floor, Mahogany wood etc. No amount of decoratiom can really replace the true value of material. There's a difference between style and class, people who know it, know it very well.
REALLY agree with you on Lamps! I'm an Electrician, and for me recessed lighting is great for "soft fill in light in certain areas, but nothing gives a home that warm feeling than lamp light.

Love your videos but just an FYI from dental hygienist…dont leave tooth brush out…when people flush without closing lid…poop aerosols fill the air and land on what is exposed…so if you dont want to brush with poop..put your brush in a drawer.

I changed to all white towels and sheets when we downsized and we keep way less around. No need for a linen closet as we keep 4 towels in each bathroom and one extra set of sheets, a blanket and a pillow in a container under each bed. I donated three full garbage bags of the old ones to the local animal shelter and they were glad to get them. So don't throw yours out!!
We always put them back for cleaning rags. If we had plenty for cleaning we took the rest to the animal shelter. I would have never thought of that until I heard someone asking if anyone had some they could donate. She was volunteering at the animal shelter and explained how badly they needed them.

I'm moving into my dad's house in a month which was built in the 70s and has NEVER been updated 😅. I'm so excited/nervous to make it my own and hopefully make it actually look nice
My home is always filled with decor that have been gifted to me, with quilts my husband and I made, and crafting items that I have made. I have bought a few things, but enjoy making my own one of a kind much more.
one Thanksgiving, my younger sister (who had never been to my house before), told me that my home that is filled with beautiful cherry and other wood furniture, oriental rugs, original art, old crystal etc that my house looked like an "estate sale"! I laughed in her face. She hasn't been back.
I just found this channel moved to my new house and painted chantilly lace. I love decorating! I usually find an item or piece of furniture I love and decorate from there. I found black velvet high barstools for kitchen island, with gold legs. And went from there. I found black coffee table with gold legs, and lamp. Looks elegant and luxurious . I softened the look with a fur black rug under coffee table, and my accessories are warmed with wood bowls on my kitchen table with fruit. Wood bowls on my coffee table , with gold pineapple. I have black and gold wall hangers with plants in them. I find the fur throw blankets really warm a room plus make it look luxurious. I found black and white fur animal print throw for my couch. I changed my knobs on kitchen cupboards to black and my faucet to black. My cupboards I painted white
Exactly! I really love interior design & architecture for like home spaces, the color and theme definitely has an effect on how comfortable a person would feel 😌
I just bought Meyers Peony based on your recommendation. The nice smell factor is another angle I would not have thought of in creating high end feel for my home!
Love your approach and ability to satisfy people from all style approaches. I’m an oldie from Australia and we are a little more laid back here in general. Lovely to not have blaring music and an overzealous approach. Love your adding diy and less expensive ideas yet achieving the beautiful finish you are looking for. Thank you
You’re really completely right about buying a larger filler for every pillow size. I would add that to make it look more expensive there should be more detail. Piping on the pillows are some kind of trim. Nice quality fabrics really help. I think they going for that plain restoration hardware Pottery Barn style can look like a model house but not in the ideal way. Generic is never high-end.
LOVE..LOVE..LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! I really love the mixture of black, white and neutral or even rustic wood colors and textures in a home. Thanks for your videos.😍
I am an absolute white lover, I love the colour white, I used several shades of whites in the same room to add subtle tones, but I think there are many times that a splash of colour been a neutral or a colour you love can really bring a room to life. I have white dinner plates etc and use my late parents dinner plates etc as well. It brings a level of sophistication too any dinner table. If you want to try this but don’t have an older style dinner set hit the charity shops garage sales etc. I agree with having 3 items grouped together, but also have collections of 5 & 7 as in nature and floral arrangements.
I love your ideas. I just want my home to feel warm , inviting and peaceful. I don't want this process to go on forever. Im struggling with picking the right living room furniture. I have high ceilings but small space.
🌹 Girlfriends wear makeup and have periods so I invested in some beautiful chocolate towels and sheets that look great and keep me sane.😁 I’m not a fan of dirt or stains.I also invested in a couple dozen black washcloths that come in really handy. White is beautiful, keeping it white and stain free was a workout for this Virgo.
I agree! There is no way you can keep white towels white with females that get their periods. I prefer a dark color, so if it happens to get a stain it is not super noticeable.

I love white crockery. I got sets from Amazon. They are lovely. Not heavy but well made and useable. Your right it does make a huge difference but it’s hard throwing out your mismatched plates!! But go do it it’s so worth it !!
I love the idea of the toothpaste in a pump jar. How does that actually work day to day? I would think it may be hard to pump. Can’t wait to try out the Mrs. Meyers room refresher. Great tips! Thanks!
I absolutely adore your content Kristen, thank you so much for sharing your time and expertise. Would love to see a video on styling side boards and table lamp tips when choosing size etc.
I love the thought of having my home look more elegant, like a hotel, but my partner and I are interested in a balance of hotel-y-ness and personalized home-y-ness. Do you have any ideas about what rooms or areas should be more hotel-y and what should be more cozy, and what kinds of decorations are more hotel-y (like a starter, generic decoration until you find a personal item…?) Thank you so much, and this video is brilliant!!
I painted almost my whole house pure white from Sherwin Williams and I love it! Hesitant but taking away all the warm tones makes it feel so much happier & brighter. New to your channel … great tips thank you!
@@martalungowski3685 All white is the best for walls the slightly different for doors/windows etc. To complete it, have non-white furniture/curtains/decorations. That's my plan for my house
I have had the ultra bright white, in high gloss in my living room, kitchen and family area for years. The rooms are all open to each other and look wonderful. So easy to make 'new' looks by changing colors of curtains, throw pillows, rugs and wall decor
I was blown away by the design wisdom shared in this video. It really offers accessible and achievable strategies for creating a high-end look in your home. It's an excellent resource for those looking to maximize their home's visual appeal on a budget.
I just found your channel days ago and I am so thankful.!! I am trying to do one room at a time to redo and declutter. Thanks so much. You are a true God send.!!
Regarding plates, dishes, and cups inside the kitchen cabinets, doing what you said is desirable but unnecessary if the cabinets are not glass or see-through, because after all, who is going to be looking inside those cabinets? Some people may not be able to afford doing this as there may be other priorities. I am a person who is easily affected by living conditions in my home environment, hating clutter and disorganization, because it imparts a bad feeling inside me, so I do enjoy listening to these kinds of videos which give you useful ideas although I am already a natural at home decorating. I think that even if a home is on the humble side, as long as things are kept clean and organized, that alone is good enough. Thanks.
I disagree…. Even though others aren’t seeing it I’m still seeing it. It makes me feel clean, organized & effortly styled …. Makes me feel less clutter when it’s organized & clean colored in appearance
I saw your video and honestly I really enjoyed watching them. Definitely I'm picking some tips from your video. Thank you for helping so many people feel cosy and amazing in their own homes. Bless you.
I love some of your ideas, but I know that I don't want my home to look like a hotel... I'm not sure many people would. I'm looking for warmth and character and a personal feel.

Hi, I just found your channel and I was immediately drawn to your content. I love interior design and finding ways to decorate on a budget, great ideas, thank you!
Hi Kristen. Everything looks wonderful! A tiny tip - Don't label the jars. We can see what's in it. If you feel two things look to similar, and you may have a mix up - place the labels below the bottles or jars. 🇹🇹 Angel from Trinidad 🇹🇹
A clean house has no smell! I would say that if your house stinks than clean it up. Don't cover up smells with toxic air fresheners, plugins and scented candles!
This was a revelation for me - the budget-friendly suggestions and practical approach to upscale design were easy to grasp. I never thought creating an expensive-looking home could be so achievable.

Hi 👋 Lesli, can I talk to you for a moment?
I love white crockery. I got sets from Amazon. They are lovely. Not heavy but well made and useable. Your right it does make a huge difference but it’s hard throwing out your mismatched plates!! But go do it it’s so worth it !!
I love the idea of the toothpaste in a pump jar. How does that actually work day to day? I would think it may be hard to pump. Can’t wait to try out the Mrs. Meyers room refresher. Great tips! Thanks!
Hello Ginny
I really enjoyed this video, was very relaxing to watch.
I absolutely adore your content Kristen, thank you so much for sharing your time and expertise. Would love to see a video on styling side boards and table lamp tips when choosing size etc.
Excellent tips indeed. Thanks for your generosity in sharing these very useful information Kristen
Always love your videos and tips! You have made me love home decor more than I ever imagined!!! Thanks Kristin!

I want to do same but I always afraid to have to much white color.
Love Kristen's videos
The pillow sizing thing works for my bed pillows also as I like a firm pillow.
I also prefer a firm pillow. Thank you so very much for your idea, I will try this!! 👍👍👍👍
I was blown away by the design wisdom shared in this video. It really offers accessible and achievable strategies for creating a high-end look in your home. It's an excellent resource for those looking to maximize their home's visual appeal on a budget.
Dear Kristen these are super great ideas as always! 😊 Thank you so much! Can't wait for your next video!

I just found your channel days ago and I am so thankful.!! I am trying to do one room at a time to redo and declutter. Thanks so much. You are a true God send.!!
Kristen, another great video, thank you! I love the ideas for the bathroom, my concern is does the toothpaste dry out?
Idk why but I subscribed in .5 seconds just because of your calm and happy presence. I think I need that energy in my life right now
These are great tips!! Love them!!
Hi 👋 Steph, can I talk to you for a moment?
Thanks alot, I really enjoyed the video, simple and beautiful.
Thanks.
Hi 👋 Kathleen, can I talk to you for a moment?
I disagree…. Even though others aren’t seeing it I’m still seeing it. It makes me feel clean, organized & effortly styled …. Makes me feel less clutter when it’s organized & clean colored in appearance
I saw your video and honestly I really enjoyed watching them. Definitely I'm picking some tips from your video. Thank you for helping so many people feel cosy and amazing in their own homes. Bless you.
I'm so stoked at the fact that I am already doing most of these things😍 great tips!
I loved the way you described each and every detail in the simplest way. Loved your video
I love some of your ideas, but I know that I don't want my home to look like a hotel... I'm not sure many people would. I'm looking for warmth and character and a personal feel.
beautiful ideas. thank you!!!
Kristen, love your program and your nice ideas!! Have a great week!!

Great ideas.. especially the lighting & aroma.
Prefer my colored & intriguingly patterned Bath Towel & Linen sets… This expresses Self😊💚💫
Hi Kristen! Love your videos! Can you please do a video on decluttering paper clutter. I need help in that department. Any tips or tricks would be great 👍
Pittsburgh girl...I have this same issue!!! 🥴🥴🥴
So I started scanning everything!!!
I bought a few memory sticks.
Each one has specific files in it.
Of course, there were some originals I had to keep, their in a legal file folders in the bottom draw of my secretary....out of the way!
I keep scanning anything I need to keep and throwing the papers in my fireplace!
Hope it helps! 😊
@@politicgal408 This is something I want to do to! Thanks for sharing! Question about the memory stick..do you attach it to your printer? Or computer? TIA
I just bought a new paper shredder and after mine go on a memory stick everything will be shredded and taken to the recycling center.
Just found your channel and can't stop watching ...❤ it!! Thanks 😊
What colors would you recommend for a large black couch? The goal I am going for is a study look.
Do you like Benjamin Moore Hale Navy? I think studies that have deep colors are really beautiful. Dark blue and also deep green look good with black.
💙
Agreed, navy, dark green or hematite by behr. Gorgeous color.
Thank you this has really helped me with my flat pillows
A clean house has no smell! I would say that if your house stinks than clean it up. Don't cover up smells with toxic air fresheners, plugins and scented candles!
I agree. Clean has a scent you can’t mimic
So true, nothing like a clean fresh tidy smelling house.
Even if the house is just freshly cleaned there are always things that smell. Lingering smell from cooking, a bin that is not full yet. etc
I make it look like an art gallery. This helped. Thank you. 😊
Chronic scents in rooms actually triggers migraines. I wish could do it, but I just can't. I can't wear perfume or even scented lotions
This was a revelation for me - the budget-friendly suggestions and practical approach to upscale design were easy to grasp. I never thought creating an expensive-looking home could be so achievable.
