For decades, children have been treated like property in the family court system. Parental rights take priority over child safety. Even with allegations (or findings) of abuse, children and teenagers are often forced into a relationship with a parent they've rejected. Family court professionals are pushing an agenda of “pro contact” at all costs, to the detriment of children.
A disturbing but lucrative industry has formed in the family court system with an emphasis on reunifying children with the rejected parent, despite the child’s resistance. In many of these cases, there is an extensive history of documented abuse, allegations of abuse or findings of abuse.
Protective parents find themselves in costly legal battles, desperate to protect their children but outnumbered by the “experts” who are profiting from this forced reunification. Even more concerning is the fact that these reunification treatments are considered experimental.
The experimental reunification treatments and legal fees are costly. Many parents report costs that exceed $100,000 in the first year while others have spent over $1,000,000 with no end in sight. The financial devastation is a common thread weaved through each of these family court cases with many protective parents finding themselves in extreme debt, losing homes, filing for bankruptcy, and liquidating retirement accounts.
What happens when these children age out of the system?
Their childhoods are documented by extensive court files and they are left to unpack a lifetime of trauma. The children are coming - their heartbreaking stories will be the catalyst for change. It is our goal to bring these young adults together and amplify their collective voices.

58,000 children in the US are transfered into the unsupervised custody of an abusive parent who trafficks them. Familial trafficking is the least recognized and the courts, bad judges, facilitate this. Parental alienation is the most common cause cited for putting children into the unsupervised custody of abusive parents but parental alienation is not a cause for a court to take jurisdiction under the UCCJEA. Establishing a homestate with the child that differs from the abusive parents homestate is good for invoking UCCJEA rules, however, as in my case, the Paso Robles CA Superior Court violated the UCCJEA in 5 ways and committed the Federal crime of depriving me of my constitutional rights under color of law, but they don't care because they think they can get away with it. I'm just another poor single mother, and that's who they target when the opposing party offers cash. Kidnapping via courts.
I hope you're not a parental alienation denier. It's usually the narcissistic personality disordered parent who tries to deny that alienation exists. The reality is the parent with NPD is the one that is severely psychologically abusing their children. It's akin to being in a parent-child cult. The parent with NPD endured trauma as a child that causes them to view people in polarized ways, all good or all bad. In order to emotionally survive, the child aligns with their truly abusive parent due to trauma bonding. Stockholm Syndrome comes to mind.
Which state are you in?
Parental alienation is a severe form of psychological abuse. Transferring custody protects the children from a psychologically and emotionally abusive parent.

This is just sick as hell, no kid or teen should have to have relationships with adults that frackly should not be recognized as "Parents"
My sister went to live with my mom for a YEAR. TWO YEARS have passed and my mom hasn’t returned her my mom got kicked out of my grandmas house and moved to oregon with her. Now she’s trying ro move my sister and her to some military base type thing, my mom also illegally took her out of school. My sister is almost 15 and she isn’t here with me my other sisters and my stepmom and dad like she wants to be, she isn’t even going to have a quinceañera cuz of this. I just want to see my older sister again, she’s the only sister with the same dad and mom as me, but she doesn’t have a good relationship with my dad cuz she is always starting arguements, we both don’t rlly like our mom she didn’t even raise us. I just want my sister back…
Well I hope that someday you can be reunited with your sister, like seriously, no one not even a bad kid should go through what your sister is experiencing right now.
What about kids who are currently going through this now? Do they have to be 16?
Ideally, we are hearing from teenagers who are old enough to give consent for their story or portions of their story to be told.
We’ve already received submissions from kids who are a bit younger than 16 and we are going to use our best judgment. It’s something we are navigating very carefully for obvious reasons.
