I run a 2.6" e-wild on the front and love it. Super durable. I just wish that they made the rear ewild tyres in something narrower than a 2.6". I usually have a 2.4" on the rear because I like something that rolls a little faster. While the sidewalls on an ewild are a stronger than a maxxis it is still terrible in a 2.6". Now if you are super light (eg: 65kg) maybe you won't notice that sidewall flex, but if you are 85kg+ then the roll you get on a 2.6" is a deal-breaker in my opinion. The 2.6" for a the rear tyre may be great for super wet and muddy conditions in the UK, but in other parts of the world with drier terrain they are just bad.
I have these since few days, no wobble and very easy to install, they require a kind of correct air pressure if too low or too high they feel weird, next step is to get rid of inner tube and go tubeless as they were designed to be run that way.
I was a Maxxis guy for 10 years, now that a tire is 100-110 USD i switched to specialized. I think the Butcher\Eliminator combo is awesome. I have ran the Michelin Wild Enduros before and i really like them. The new Conti's are also really good.
@@marksedman2267 I’ve been using the Butcher\Eliminator combo for one season also, amazing tires and great value, but I think the Assegai is a bit better. But I must admit that some brands are cheaper and offer good alternatives.
Maxxis are old news, they aren't innovating when other brands are moving forward much quicker

I found this review to be a good contribution to others on UA-cam. I still search for a true EMTB tyre comparison though... I need to ask you what stand you are using. It looks awsome not having to clamp a grip on the seatpost.
These look pretty good! I bought a specialized hillbilly recently for front. Weather in UK is nothing like yours but I've been very impressed. For price I think specialized seem to have good offerings also.
Loving the content FC. What made you go with the 2.4 over the 2.6 up front? Ordered a 2.4 from Germany, but now second guessing if the 2.6 may have been a better call. Currently rolling on 2.5 DD Assegai which I like a lot.
i dont care about weight, rolling resistance, grip... I want the tire to be tough as hell. I go through tires way b4 the tread wears out, i pull at least 5 thorns or goat heads out of my tires every time i ride, after 100 rides (1/2 year or so) thats 500 holes! sealant only works so good. I go through gallons of sealant and my tires are literally riddled with holes, plugs, patches by the time they are through. I live in the sonoran desert. Trails here are no joke.
Wow. Looking pretty good until the rear tire showed that wear, faster wear than DHR II with eMTB? I am starting to have more faith in my eliminator T7 for eMTB. Thanks for the review, useful information. 😎 👍🏾
Bruv, don't believe the endless hype of reviewers. A trek exe has 2.4" tyres stock. These ewilds are only available in a minimum of 2.6". In my opinion that would be terrible for XC. The tread pattern on these is already much slower than a standard xc tyre, so going wider as well would really slow you down. Endless grip with the ewilds, sure. But you'll lose out everywhere else.
I had no idea you rode… I watch every Rc video. My mind is blown.

I have tried others tires several times but in the end I always go back to Maxxis.

I can’t stand Maxxis.. gum rubber… super unstable. Wears out super fast. Maxxxis is behind the ball. If you ride them hard enough.
@@nathanshipman4900yeah, probably for you pro riders… I’m will stay with Maxxis nevertheless.

Big fan of the Michelin Wild enduro front tire. Might have to try this one.
It sure surprised the heck out of me. They're making strides in with aggressive mtb tires.

Definitely, Specialized has stepped up their game.
I've liked every Specialized tire that I tried

Trying to fit these was an absolute nightmare, will swap to continental next
They are a little tight when brand new. And it depends on the wheel. On one of my wheels, he was very tight and on another team on easily.

I would say it wears faster than a DHR II. Eliminator T7 is a good all-around tire. Just not great when it becomes super steep and/or slick.
These tires are the business, so far way better then the Assegai
So good to hear your share!
@@EMTBReview have you noticed a difference in the battery consumption on the bike?
Started to consider over my Assagais until you talked about the rear tire wear. Yikes!
My sentiments exactly. Glad I put 5 rides into it. Pretty legit though as a front tire. The rear is for 'race day'!
Have you had any issues with the side walls cracking? All of my Dh22 and Dh34’s sidewalls cracked all the way around the tire.
Diese Reifen sind was grip angeht ein Monster aber die haben einen hohen Verschleiß, die haben bei mir keine 6 Monate ausgehalten.
The front looks very similar to the Magic Mary
True. Big blocks!
How would this do on a Fuiel Exe ridden in minnesota on loamy xc type trails?
You'll have endless grip! A lot of tire but it'll be like a security blanket.

Damn RC cars and E Bikes :)
Rrright? Such money savers
What tyre pressure?
I used 22/20, rear/fromt. And dropped down to 20/18
Dont you do RC reviews too? Lol 🤙
Exactly my friend. Do u rc?
Tried the ewilds a couple of years ago. Won't be going back to them.
These are better. Not for everyone though in terms of price and longevity.
Looks like the rubber is too soft. If on a e-bike who cares about grams? #weightweenies
True that.
Crap tyres, worn out after 4 months, draggy and not great in the wet. They are very good in the dry but that's about it. Straight back to the Conti
Try continental, you will never buy another tire after that
Oh yeah, using the Kryptotals now. Very good tire indeed. Great, aggressive all-arounder.
Casing is weak and the rubber rips
Off the carcass.
This tire is bullshit. Sorry. After 2 days I had 2 times a snake bite.
I doubt you have this new tire. And snakebite usually means your pressure is way too low.
