- This is a video chronicling my frustrations with "The World's Most Powerful Console". The video is done of the replacement console Microsoft sent me after sending my original in for the exact same problems! It's clear they don't test their systems well, so let me detail the problems I've been having. All issues are occurring after 30-60 minutes of continuous use with the console.
Issues:
1. Slow boot up or no boot up at all
2. Games fail installation very frequently, at times after 5-8 GB of install (happens with disc and digital). When prompted, games refuse to continue installation.
3. WiFi/Ethernet choppiness/drops. I'm running 100down/10 up with 100% strength and this never happened with my original Xbox one
4. Game choppiness, lag, stutter, etc.
5. Dashboard processing nearly grinds to a halt. Cannot access dash items, menus don't load, can't navigate through settings.
6. Console crashes. Failures while running an app leads to a black screen and functionality of the console ceases.
I'll be keeping this video updated as I plan on sending in for yet another replacement. Post your replies and feel free to share the video. I think there is a failure to acknowledge issues with this edition of the Xbox One X. - Ігри
My xbox one x is having wifi issues Im not the only one, a lot of people have the same problem.
I know this might seem like a late reply but it might be an issue with the wifi card that is on the left side of the xbox

I've gone through at least 25 different Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox to the one x, and they ALL have broken in some way or another. Whether it be the red ring of death, disc drive failure, overheating, failure to boot up, an so on..
It basically breaks down to a poor quality program and even worse business model which seems to be 'if we build it to break, they will just buy another one'. I highly recommend PlayStation over Xbox simply because Microsoft can't get their stuff together
Dude all my Xbox’s are good probably just search up every problem u might have with ur Xbox, but if ur ps4 just stops working probably it’s a problem with you.
I need help with my Xbox One X. I bough it a few days ago. I've noticed
it smells like burnt plastic. More if it is running a game. The console
works perfect, no FPS drops or whatsoeve. It doesn't overheat too much
neither, but it throws that ugly smell from the back, and in a 3x4 metre
room, it becomes noticeable in less than 1 hour play. First, I thought
it was running short of energy, so I tried plugging it in directly to
the wall but it still did the same. I've use it once or twice, and evne
in sleep mode it releases some smell. What can I do? Is it a problem
because the console is too new, and I should wait for more uses? Do all
the Xs smell and it is something normal? My previos, day one Xbox One
doesn't smell and still works like a charm. HELP PLEASE!!!!

I have exact same problems bro, my console is 6 week old. The head phone jack on controller stopped working after 2 weeks. I've gone back to Playstaion. Would never buy a Microsoft thing again. The customer support is not even with bothering with. I feel your pain. I've posted my Xbox back to Microsoft told them to keep it. Don't even want a refund from them. Done with Xbox !!!
Nah Sony and Nintendo consoles work just fine at launch, DON'T BUY MICROSOFT JUNK.
Purchased the XBOX One X last week and I've had to do a full restore on it 5 times now. I'm just as frustrated. A console with this price tag should NOT have simple issues such as a laggy UI, freezing, crashing, etc. Seriously considering taking it back for a full refund (30 day in store policy). Luckily I also have a PS4 with the Nyko 2TB hard drive kit if I want to do stuff like play games, watch videos or movies...you know normal stuff these things are supposed to do...
I have mine one x still running 18 months that's incredible.
One piece of advice do not buy a new console a month to 2 months after release always get an older console and wait until the bugs are worked out of the newly released console
Trystan Marshall I stopped buying the first batch since the original XBOX and pS2. I didn’t have no issue with PS2 but my XBOX messed up and had to send back. I got the red ring of death on my 360. My PS4 I wait until the white glacier came out, then updated to pro with the Spider-Man edition. I got the Xbox One X in White. I waited for the white one to come out and that was this week. I wait until they get the bugs out or new color comes out before I buy. No more day one for me.

Bought Switch and PS4 at launch and they work great, Xbox is total trash...it's not the customers fault a company makes garbage microsoft should be ashamed. Oh I own one of these too so yeah it's trash and I'm stuck with the dumb thing not sending it in again for the 5th time.
Just never ever buy Xbox 1x.
Same thing happened to me on my original Xbox and then on the replacement. So now I'm my third Scorpio edition. I tried factory resets as well and eventually I would start getting boot errors to the point that it would never boot to the dashboard. Same exact symptoms prior to that with slow dashboard, incomplete downloads.
I’ve just received my 4th Xbox Scorpio replacement back from Microsoft..I’m so pissed off..each time I get it back it’s always a complete replacement and it always starts to go wrong after about 10 days of gaming.
Feel your pain..I will never buy another Microsoft console again.

I hear you man. I loved my original xbox and my 360 neither ever gave me any issue. Ive had issues with my day one edition and my s model i decided to upgrade as well to the scorpio and this console is borderline unplayable. Im literally contemplating taking it outside and running it over.
I'm on 4th Xbox one X. I uploaded videos of each problem I got. 4th is silent but controller disconnect randomly, PS4 and Nintendo switch are far better built.
It seems like you are having a hard drive failure just like on a PC (4:50). Anyway, I was thinking of getting used scorpion ($400ish) instead of the regular One X, I'm still doing my research. :) So, how's the scorpion now? Thx for sharing.
I got a project scorpio few weeks ago for 200 and all the issues this guy had i had the same . I tried hard reset and reinstalled the os .. Nothing worked ! . So i opened it up and saw the thermal paste was like cement and the pads were broken . I added some mx4 and thermal pads with a new ssd to replace stock drive and now its running superb . No crashing no stalling happy days .
I've been having all these issues and more since January 2019, mine was completely unplayable for 5 months and still has all the problems in this video to this day. My warranty had expired by the time I'd called Microsoft to try get it sorted out and they charged me £220 to renew it. Biggest waste of time and money I've ever had period

We just started experiencing all of these issues with a late 2018 dated Xbox One X and the thing is almost a paperweight. I have gone through having my internet reworked at home to attempting to replace the HD thinking it had failed (common issues seen on a failing PC HD) to no avail. This console failed after a year of ownership when I have a fat original 360 that works like a charm with the original HD. Someone at MS should acknowledge this.
You know ive had both the scorpio and the standard one x since launch and ive only had problems with the scorpio ive had it replaced twice already but my standard edition one x runs just fine no issues. I wonder if microsoft cut corners on the scorpio?

Have had 3 that are 1terabyte with the way the new power supply is setup, they need to change psu and use proper thermal pastes. loud as hell, overheating, wether I use surge protector or not. All games overheat the fans.
The Scorpio Edition seems to be having more issues for some reason.

My Xbox S I got in Nov 2017 died this year in January 2019; when I turn it on, it powers up and after about 10 seconds powers off by itself. I bought a new Xbox S (the warranty had run out) in July 2019 and it’s now started to not connect to WiFi... its only 5 months old
I appreciate that some of the people saying not to buy console at launch. Not sure how much that would work or true. But where would I get older console. IDK who to trust, what if the older console get broken after few years of usage too.
I just loveeee. I just loveeeee the way when people review a product, they don't give their honest opinions about how a product will get broken for no reason no matter how much you take care of the owned product.
I just sent the project scorpio console for the 3rd time. I had similar problems with the console as you did. For me it looked like a damaged hard disk

Me to mine always say try uninstall and reinstall it and I’ve done the boat 16 times it still doesn’t work it will work for a couple minutes but it won’t when I unplug it it just doesn’t power back on for like an hour

For me i fix it after a lot of freezing and error you just need to put liquid thermal paste on the gpu and it work soo well

Your Xbox One X needs a Hard Drive replacement I experienced this problem before you may need to purchase a new sata cable if its not the hard drive.
My Xbox One X does this and shows me E105 error and Microsoft want to charge me £200 to replace my Scorpio edition.

I'm having exactly the same issue with mine. Got my first one on launch day via pre-order, sent it for repair 3 weeks into ownership. After getting the "repaired" console back, began having the exact same issue within a week. Tired to get a refund, but if course being outside the first 30 day window that was a no go. Opted for the advance replacement option since I developed zero faith in the repair process. Received a new console, and after about 3 weeks of owning that one, I am having the exact issue you are. There is a significant issue afoot. I feel duped by Microsoft, and they are sticking people with a shitty product. So now I am waiting on my second replacement One X. Maybe I get one of the good ones. I have no faith that will be the case. I have a feeling I will have to file a case in small claims court over this absolutely garbage product.
Eric Watford I have a feeling I'm headed for small claims. My state actually has a "lemon law" and a statute of merchantability. It basically says that I can give a company ample time to repair flaws, but after 3 attempts, if it isn't fixed, I can refuse ownership and file a suit

@@AckLikeYouKnow I've lost mine trying to do a full reset for the 44 time. I feel so cheated. The PC never game me this nightmare. I now own an RTX 2080 Ti and since Microsoft decided to remove the exclusives, I have no intention of going back, the PC is the way. And also, I can cool it down however I wish (watercooled here) and don't need to be at the mercy of a closed down system that whenever it breaks I can't do shit to fix it.

i have three xboxes the white xbox 0ne s,xbox one and the xbox 360. i've never let it cool itself with just the internal fan. i have a server fan that i place on top of the xbox one s and the xbox one to pull out the warm or in my case hot air i like to play and on the xbox 360 i would put it to blow into it from the top through a screen mess so it wouldn't blow too much dust and stuff into it. i got this advice from someone online and so far knock on wood it's worked
Man technology are all broken now a days after few years of usage. My first laptop got broken after 3 years of gaming. Then, I bought a gaming laptop for second time. After 2.5 years of usage now my gaming laptop keep crashes for no reason. I can't play any games at all. I haven't done anything to them and they keep breaks. I took it to technician and the price they told me for repair which is half the price I paid the laptop for originally. I can't keep buying new laptop or consoles since I can't afford it. It's been 1 month and Im just super bored and frustrated idk what to do. Seems like my gaming life is over.
Note mine is sitting parallel as well so if some one tells you brokS designs they dont know crap about the X i also encounter a problem with my tv but because i was trying to use my old xbox one hdmi cable in my 4k uhd tv i was having trouble outputting at the right resolution so i wen ahead and use the one that came with the console problem solved 4k uhd 60hrts ✔ later on we will get hdmi 2.1 update for 120 hrts on 4ktvs
I bought mine with a faulty HDD E102 and 105 errors. Jumped through hoops to get a new HDD in and only a couple months later SAME F'ING CODES coming up. The console was barely a year old when I got it, but those assholes only put a 12 month warranty on their flagship console.

Got myself an Xbox one x for Christmas and every time I play I experience horrible lag. I had the original Xbox one and also have a ps4 and rarely experience lag on those consoles but the one x lags like crazy, sometimes even making games unplayable. when I check my network stats every thing is perfectly where it should be. I've researched and see many people are experiencing the same thing. I was hoping a console update would have came out by now to fix the problem but it has to be an internal problem apparently. I will say the graphics are great, but I hate not being able to have fun with friends because of the stupid lag.
Are you using an external drive for the install?
TurboChards I do use a 2tb external hard drive but I don't really have issues with installation, just when playing online.

I literally got one a year ago. Refurbished. And it had a minor issue of saved games error here and there no big deal. To this week. Its so bad its unplayable. The dash greezes. Ive done 50+ soft/hard resets. All the problems your saying. This past week ive had to reset all day to barely get it to play for an hour. Resets take 20+ minutes. I want my freaking money back. But too bad too dad. No warranty. Been over the year. And of course when the year hit is when these problems started. 400+$ down the drain for nothing.
What's the storage ?

If HDD, try to swap it out
On a full start up it does take a decent amount of time to send the IR signal to a tv. If it was on sleep mode it is quick. Something is wrong with you if it was with 2 consoles.
TurboChards the monitor had been just turned on prior to the video. The console had been through a full hard reboot. It takes seconds for the signal to be sent, not minutes. You should do some Google searching on these Scorpio issues. You'll find I'm not the only one
AckLikeYouKnow just weird Is say I know give or take 100 local friends/ Xbox Live gamer friends who have an X and non of them have issues. Like I said for it to happen twice to you is just puzzling.
TurboChards well, what I'm assuming happened was, somebody sent in their console before me for the exact same problem. It's gotta have something to do with the thing overheating. It's basically the same form factor as the Xbox one s, without the fan on the top, which is puzzling as to why they'd remove a common cooling mechanism. The 2 units I've had seemed to get really hot and loud after an hour of use before completely locking up. I'm not insinuating it's widespread, but Microsoft is denying it's an issue at all, despite my collection of info from others who are having similar issues

i fix my console by fac reset keep games app on about 5times till my xbox got stable like the consle hdd need wipe about 5 times start working normal
Setting it on its side is the problem. I did that before and it caused mine to go to Shit. After setting it upright, everything did its job in the console much quicker because nothing was pulling it to the side

I've only had mine for a few days I keep getting errors 102 and 105 and no games will install I've wiped it multiple times even bought a USB to do a offline update and it didn't do anything. Nothing works and I don't know what to do.

Microsoft told a big lie that it was the most powerful it's actually the world, s LEAST powerful console.
i know the issue , i have the same, install who keeps stopping, sometimes the console will work fine for a week or two, and then while playing suddenly saving doesnt work, anymore, games can't save and usually after that the console home is laggy or having issues, it's not the worst console ever, cos as a game reseller , i can tell u we had more issues with other launch of sony's past consoles, but it is a specific Hard drive issue with the Scorpio ed. only , a regular xbox one X have 10 times less chance to have this issue... so the best way to deal with it , is having to exchange your console with MS , and of the second one is having the same issue , so it again, they have a nice customer service and they will offer you months of xbox live or gift cards... or you can chose to echange it for a regular xbox one X , many have done this , and few have issues, it is really a Scorpio ed. hard drive issue, ( advice do not put your console this way even if it's allowed especally is you play disc based games ) for digital ones no worries...
It is not. I've swapped the HDD for an SSD on my now defunct Xbox One X and the same issues you're describing kept on happening. It's something bad on the motherboard that is corrupting the SATA transfer as now my brand new SSD that was supposedly failing on the One X is working flawlessly on the PS4 Pro. I will never buy an Xbox One ever again.
the wifi drop might be down to your ip provider
kdeeuk doesn't happen with my Xbox 360, regular Xbox one, ps4, or ps3. Also doesn't affect my pc or laptop. So think again

2nd one already doing this to me as well, they also won't reimburse me with new bundle either, Been 5 months, paid 678 at Wal-Mart for first, 2nd was advanced exchange, both of em as well as my last 3 500 g and bf1 1tb all had these manufacturing/ OS problems. LITERALLY AND UTTERLY MICROSOFT GONNA HAVE TO SUCJ MY CUKE IF THEY WANT ANOTHER NICKEL OUT OF ME, it's not even mattering if we get one at launch, it's been fucked since christmas 2015

I just sent my Xbox to ms , my games wudnt sycronize , kick him half way thru a game , turn itself off , wudnt download updates , games wudnt download kept saying installation stopped , wudnt let me sign in to Xbox live , kept getin error codes on start up , waste of Fukin money , I’m goin back to PS4

So many people say this, but it is sitting on the stand that comes with it. There is a gap for airflow.
I don’t think we need everyone saying they’re Xbox is fine. He probably knows it’s a defect but that’s happened with a lot of consoles. Just return it and get your money back.

Mine has been up and down the gaming side off it grate but it seem sometimes the wireless connection just drop then no wireless connection so you do it by hand then come starting games fuck me sorry but this is the thing that f me off so much so you click to start a game eg ark wink wink lol and nothing nothing nothing come on it take for ever then the game start but not probably so you have to stop the game and start it again. Any one had this problem?

I have the Xbox one x project Scorpio edition as well. The console I love it. It’s a little louder Han expected sometimes while I play it and the WiFi on it completely SUCKS! It’s so awful and I can barely play fortnite and there’s SO much lag. My friend brought his big blocky ass regular Xbox one and he got way better connection than my console.

Had mine since November 7th. Launch day. NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER! Play it almost every single day. Played last weekend for about 8 -10 hours!! And that was just Saturday! Again, NO ISSUES! Machine is the Truth! A BEAST!!!

Mine works fine with no issues at all, I guess some units are just broken and some aren't guess it's the luck of the draw

Update: seems like a bad hard drive. Guess what, hard drives have mechanical parts and do fail. Send it to them and get it replaced.
It's very easy for you to say! I have also been getting a lot of problems too and when I tried to regester my console on the xbox website to get a replacement, they said that I had no warranty when I had only bought it a few months ago!! I had a one year warranty, which means the warranty was still active!

i never buy a system when it first comes out,it's a known fact that the manufactures will push out the systems with issues in the hopes that it will all work out cause once they have your money it's pretty much a done deal.
It's just fucking terrible mate. To this day they do not work. Don't get one wait a couple months after the series x comes out and see how that does. If it works get one of them instead
You must be unlucky mate because my dad got the Xbox one x ( me and my dad are diehard Xbox fans) and he hasn't had any problems ( besides the point he got it like a year or two after it launched)

So I have the basic X model and I'm having problems with mine as well man. I noticed once I got the X I've had the worst laggy online experience and I'll randomly get kicked from games and the Xbox party completely. I've had the console completely power off when I've gone to open a message on Xbox. Clearly there's a major issue with this console

TurboChards I’ve done everything under the sun I’m starting to think I just have terrible internet.
I had this problem until I connected to the router through a Ethernet cable, seems to be a problem with the Wi Fi adapter, hopefully they can sort this with a firmware update in the future.

All the issues people had at launch and 95% of them, including this one, are down to the cheap, non-reliable, poor performance mechanical HDD. It's taken 3 years but I could tell my One X was taking longer to load the past few months. Iv since replaced it with a Samsung 860 EVO SSD and it's transformed the console, it boots up to dashboard from a cold start in under 20 seconds and games install/load much faster.
They really should have used SSDs and it looks like they're learning their lesson with the Series X

@@viva7642 Yes but they are easily upgraded with an SSD. The new consoles ship with M.2 SSDs which are even faster than the SATA based SSD that can be put into the One X. I would just wait to get the Series X or PS5.

Yes fast smooth and fluid. It all depend if your lucky enough to find one last, The one I have lasted me 16 months and still running smooth no lag no issue.

Why are you having so many issues? I haven’t had any issues on my end or any of my friends with theirs. I am curious if your external is the issue. Don’t know why that would be but you are the common factor if it happened with two consoles and no one else’s....

AckLikeYouKnow still doesn’t make sense. If there are issues is is most likely less than 1% of units otherwise it would hit news like anything that is near 2% or higher fail rate. Retail basics 101.

I exactly had the same problem. Now i have to send it to sav and no issue of course right now. This console is a shit and anyway, the next xbox will release at the end of next year or the year after so it is useless.

That sucks, but remember! It's still first gen. Give it another year they'll get it corrected. Every console that comes out have problems! The ps4 did, and they fixed them up now! You should know that. Never buy first gen console! Let them figure out the kinks first.

Yeah that sucks! But it's only bin out for couple of months. Sure that really sucks, it's your 3rd time! Consoles do give problems when they first drop. The ps4 gave problems too when it first came out. But not no more cuz it's bin out for years now and they fixed its issues!
xbox one s for me is good but the x always issues
If you get a bad console all you have to do is ship it off to the store get one from your local Rent-A-Center to replace it for about a week and we'll get it back brand new or fixed. It does suck when this happens but at least they stand by their product and it gets done quick. Other than a few small issues that have been worked out including the HDMI porting that everybody was having a problem with with the screen just being black. It is an absolutely fantastic piece of machinery. It is a gift to all console fans from Microsoft. I challenge anyone to make a PC that's this powerful with only $499.99 buying all parts at fair market value. It's not possible because there's already been a contest and it cannot be done. I am extremely grateful to Microsoft for this gift. Their company is not making money off these consoles. They are making money off of the sales generated by the hype of the X1 yes but they did not make money off the actual console itself. Tell me when PlayStation would ever do something like that or any other company? Thank you Microsoft for a true Ultra HD console not PlayStation's lying BS.
It's a piece of trash full of design problems. I've dissasembled it more than 30 times already, there is so much WRONG inside I can't even start describing it. They need at least 2 more generations to improve this piece of shit. It's an overheating nightmare inside. I prefer the OG Xbox One, at least it was a radio cassette with much more breathable space inside.
Full OS installation on the PS4 pro is about 1GB. Full OSU1 offline update for the Xbox One X is about 5GB. Take that into consideration. No wonder why the PS4 Pro feels so much snappier and responsive on the dasboard compared to the Xbox One X.
Not my problem, mine actually fails to load so I have to pull the plug and it works well then.

@@viva7642 get a xbox series X. Dead quiet no coil whine. They fixed flaw using glue inside power supply to stop parts from vibrating to eliminate coil whine.

Damien Adams might as well. Mine was working 100x better...yet only in 1080p, but at least it works. Shouldn't have pulled the trigger so soon on selling it.
