Just for clarity guys, I'm not trying to sound like I'm hating on the Xbox One X, Phil Spencer, Microsoft, etc. I just want people to make sure that they're buying this for the right reasons. To think about how much money they've already spent on consoles, and how much they may have to spend in the future. There will always be something new, so sometimes it's better to wait a little longer to see how things play out. And you also have to be aware of the games you think you be buying, and if they will be utilizing the console's power. For me, this is a no, as I'm really only interested in Sony's games. But to every man to himself! So with that being said, tell me what you think about the Xbox One X! Will you buy it? Yes or No??

Sony's exclusives are laughable sometimes. Most are 3rd person story choice driven games. And when they tried something bigger and different no mans lie happened...

So I'm thinking about forgoing the "X" (Microsoft play anywhere and a few of Sony's third-party exclusives are also on PC).

Timbo Do you own a PS4 Pro? Not everyone enjoys gaming on a PC. And you are right, if you are a Sony game fan, the X.B.O.X. makes little to no sense, unless you want the best looking multiplatform games this generation. But to say the value is low, or non existent, is going a bit far.
And the 3 examples you gave were quite lacking, imo. Should add one. Let's say his name is, Nate. And Nate, doesn't enjoy PC gaming. Nate already owns a great 65 inch 4k HDR tv. Nate is looking to buy both a game console and a UHD 4k blu ray player. Oh, and Nate is a Crackdown fan, a Halo fan, and is looking forward to playing Player Unknown Battlegrounds on console. Seems to me there is a great amount in value, for Nate to pick up a X.B.O.X., don't you agree?
Your point about exclusives is very well founded. Last generation I would say that Xbox360 easily had the best exclusives, I really wasn't jealous of PS3 people except for Uncharted and The Last of Us, but for a long while, any BioWare games were only on Xbox... as was Halo and any Bungie IPs. This generation has flipped (It ticks me off to no end that my Xbox never got half of the crap Playstation did for...or will...for Destiny). Maybe this will restore the balance, probably not. Or maybe Xbox will be back on top... who knows. Stick with what you like and WHAT YOUR FRIENDS PLAY GAMES ON. Company and comraderie is worth far more than shiny technology.

The only reason I would personally buy an Xbox One X is because I don't already have an Xbox. I own a 4k TV, and I'd really like to get the most out of the console, but as always with something big like the X, I like to wait awhile before I make my final decision.

I think we're in the same boat lol. Only reason I would but the "X" is because I have the original ps4, but I have a 4k TV, but at the same time I don't just want to buy the same console twice, i'd feel stupid getting a ps4 pro, so why not get a whole new console to play 4k? And apparently it's true 4k. The ps4 update with HDR really boosted a game's graphics which also stops me from getting one.
I disagree with almost everything you said. you fail to realize they're always going to be people who wanted to be on The Cutting Edge of a certain technology and this console was built for them. if you're an Xbox fan this console holds great value. it's far cheaper to buy the 1x then bulid and maintain a PC with similar Hardware. there are a lot of upsides to gaming on PC but there are also a lot of downsides to that no one seems to talk about. it can also be confusing for the average gamer to try and maintain a PC. all these points you completely glossed over and attempt to shame someone out of buying an Xbox One X, not everyone is technologically inclined. these are only a few points you can make without even talking about what system your friends playing on, what system has the majority of your games. it's because of this I feel your argument was very short-sighted. without even looking at the bigger picture. does this console hold value to you.

I was a die hard xbox customer ever since 360, I have a xbox one, but each year Sony gets games that I'm interested in I was bummed I bought an xbox one and then The Last of Us was released, I just think xbox is all about the hardware and not the games anymore, sure the xbone one x is in spencers words is the worlds most powerful console ever but sony have all the timed exclusive content , destiny and cod the two biggest console franchises and have actual exclusives like The Last of Us 2 , God of War, Law breakers which is a cliff belinski game and its not on xbox says it all, MS have seriously lost touch with the gamers

I JUST bought a PS4 to add to my collection. I now have Xbone, PC, PS3 and 4, and a wii. Awww yeaaah! Oh BTW it's the gold slim edition. It looks tight my dudes.
Really, you should only buy an apple if you like the OS. It has it's gives and takes, and frankly, OSX has more ease of use and built in features than any other OS, but having said that, I would guess that most people who buy apple only do so BECAUSE of the price tag, because they think that if it's more expensive, it's better, which isn't necessarily the case.
This exactly my thoughts and the points I make. I have a 65" 4K TV and I'm not buying the pro or the Xbox one X not worth it in my opinion. My tv upscales to 4K and that looks fine to me. The price doesn't make "upgrading" a smart buy. It's about the games, always has been and so far I haven't been to happy with my OG Xbox purchase because the games library is seriously lacking and with what they showed at E3 nothing convinced me otherwise to possibly be burned a second time(A $500 burn no less!).
4k blue ray players are around 300 to 400 dollars so value for 499.00
Got my one s for 210 euro and that has 4k Blu Ray

Until games are specifically designed for the PS4 pro and Xbox one X there's no reason to have either. Most games will still be 30fps and have to be designed for the original ps4 and xbox one. As you stated the biggest problem with Xbox is the fact that developers know PS4 has the player base. Microsoft can't take that away, and unless all these companies spontaneously decide to support exclusives and content with Xbox, Microsoft won't get these companies back. It'll most likely stay that way till ps5 also. but this is the first time ever in console history where Ps4 has strict exclusive control. Ask yourself when the new consoles drop; what system will you purchase? Sony knows Microsoft fudged themselves by calling themselves a cable box way back when and now the Ps4 is the exclusive gaming console. I can't see Sony ever losing that unless the devs as I said decide to change come the next consoles.

Totally agree, and there's more that was not clarified. What about the controllers of the xbox one, do they work on X? And do the X as incorporated the kinect? For now it's just for vanity.
Duarte Menezes yes to all your answers. In an IGN interview these questions were asked and were answered. The x support Kinect and controllers are the same.

Very good point about the exclusives. I just bought the one x to go along with the new OLED I bought. Needed the baddest system for the best tv. Waiting for a price drop to get the pro. Unless they come out with some with hardware more comparable to the one, then it will be in my TV Stand instantly as long as it's $600 or less

The value is for the durability. Xbox lasts a long time. I still have day one and it still works just fine.
I could use some advice, hope you guys can help. I’m impressed with the Xbox One X and am debating on wether to get one. I own a PS4 Pro and recently a Xbox One S. I also have a 4K tv. I’m basically a PS gamer, but love Forza and Gears. I’m just not sure €500 is worth it, since I already have an S. Should I sell my S and buy an X or just wait?
I am hopeing that Train Sim would be playable on the one S, i have a lap top but lags on graphics, not really a gameing laptop. The one S and X sound like it can handle those kind of graphics, if it dose then im considering on buying the S.
I just realised a difference with single player and multiplayer based games. A multiplayer game like cod black ops 2 for instance instantly loses its fan base when the next cod comes out, so it doesn’t last very long. A single player game like uncharted 1 can be played again and again even after uncharted 2, 3 and 4 come out
I have been sitting on the shelf about the Xbox One X for a while now. I bought the Xbox One when it was 499.99 and seeing the prices it is nowadays just makes me want to cry. Having said that i am looking to upgrade, as my Xbox One has begun to struggle and turns on randomly, so on that note i plan to wait for the Xbox One X to launch, then go pick up an Xbox One S for less than 200. I just cannot justify spending 499 on another console, my Ps4 cost me 150 and it is still going strong, i have no need for the pro. I game most days and for long periods of time, i suppose i could be in the hardcore range of gamers, i still have no need for the Xbox One X, i do not have a 4K tv either. These just seem like needless expenses for something that is going to be replaced in a couple of years anyway. Thank you for this video, it has helped me to make up my mind, i have no need to follow the sheep and buy the new shiny. For those of you who also believe i am wrong, remember the first launch of the Xbox One, everyone rushed to get theirs, so much hype, then 70% of them all had major defaults and just broke...499 of broken console...i'll wait a couple of years for the price to drop and the second generation of the console to be released before i go rushing in. For now the One S is firmly on my radar.

While I generally agree with the points you made in this video, to answer your last question, Yes, all of those games (metro, crackdown, forza, and sea of thieves) are worth the price of an Xbox console. I was very impressed by xbox at e3 this year and very excited expecially for metro and sot. honestly, I was disappointed by sony, and I say that as someone who had to talk himself out of buying a ps4 pro when I was at best buy the other day. I am a gamer not a fan boy. I told myself my ps4 would suffice until the price drops on the pro. I have an Xbox one S BECAUSE I have a 4K tv. most people in the market for a new living room tv (if they have a good job) are going to be buying a 4K tv. that is where the market is now. and the Xbox one S is the best bang for your buck if you want a 4K blue ray player.
The main reason why I want the Xbox one x isn't the 4K, but just the fact that it runs better. I'm sick of playing games and those games crashing, pulling me back to the last save, which might have been hours ago. One example is skyrim. With several mods, it can barely run on my Xbox one without crashing or glitching horribly. With the X, I am hoping this won't happen.
Costs the same as a Vvidia 1080 graphics card, its insane value for money. Man it dosn't even get you a high end phone anymore. Microsoft did an impressive job with the spec balancing it between power and cost. This is the console for people skipped the S we knew was comming for a long time and patiently waited. To have more power require an insanely more expensive pc and with 4k becomming mainstream the time is right.
I think it's totally worth it. Some people still play on 360 and don't want to upgrade. Just differences.
Personally for me price isn't an issue.. I bought the Xbox One on release and I sold it within 8 months because it was full of bugs, it weren't "Next Gen" it was a let down. Then the One S got released but again, that was a waste of money and I never bothered with it. I've been waiting on the release of the One X since.. for me it's worth it's price tag. Consider this.. if you had put 20 aside a month from the very first announcement of the One X.. you would have more than enough to buy it outright plus more..
I haven't bought a up to date console yet, and I was going to get a limited edition Xbox One S, but now I don't know what to do. ether get an Xbox One S for cheaper, the Xbox One X, or a PlayStation 4, or a PlayStation 4 pro. high core and high gddr will dictate what developers have to set the parameters of designing for a new game engine that is next worldy.. so increasing the entry grade of performance dictats how fast graphical and rendering will advance for consumers compare xbox to the xbox 360 it was similar at the start of the 360's launch but advancments took hold of the deepest potential that was built into the console. this said the lifespan of the 360 had to come to an end as there were no more gains in engine to be made in comparison to world wide electronical game standards
Hey someone give me an honest opinion. I own a 4K tv and I have never really owned am Xbox. Like I got the xbox 360 when it came out but I got that for Christmas when I was really young. I am really thinking about the xbox one x but was thinking about waiting to see if it'll be cheaper black Friday. Any opinions?

I own a 4k TV. I also own both an Xbox One S and a PS4 Pro so don’t think that I’m bias. I pre-ordered an Xbox One X in September. I recently decided to cancel my preorder from Microsoft. It makes No sense to buy a system with very few exclusives. PlayStation 4 has tons of exclusives. Most of the game that will run on the Xbox One X will not run 4k at 60fps. The biggest problem I have with the X box One is lack of exclusives.

I'm not hating on ps4 or anything, but so many games that I really wanted to play have been snatched up by playstation, and I can't play them because I decided to get an Xbox. I understand why Sony does it and it makes sense, but it's just not fair to someone like me who wants to play spiderman or uncharted and doesn't want to spend 500$ to do so.

yeah, I was pretty bummed when I found out Destiny for example won't be at 60fps. It's not a deal breaker to me or anything, but seeing PC gameplay in 60fps on UA-cam is making me jelly lmao
Timbo the devs explained that the cpu is the limitation for that particular title, but the many other titles that are powered by GPU jus give us fukn 60fps. 4k is an easy marketing tactic though hence y they push that shit
i bought this earlier today, May 11th 2021 second hand for 200 euros. I will replace my xbox one since 2013. I hope the new console will give me noticable diffenrence in loading times, performance, and graphics quality. I will connect it on a 4k LG 43 un74006LB smart tv model 2020 with standard 2160p @ 60Hz. Hope i will see diffenrce What you think? is xbox one X going to be that better as it promises to be?

Personally i use my Xbox One S every day... for media purposes, 4K netflix and 4K blu rays etc. I don't see a £450 upgrade changing anything for me, yes games will look fantastic but its a tiny upgrade if you factor in i already have the One S and can already play games when i fancy it. I'd basically be paying £450 for my games to be in 4K as i already have the 4K blu ray and netflix part.
Now i could sell the One S and get maybe £100/£150 for it but still that's a £350/£300 upgrade for something i probably wont utilise that much.
You are so right what I think they trying to do is Jack up the price like right now we paid $59 for a standard video game. in five years a standard new video game will be about 89. Everybody do not have a 4K TV so that will be a problem hurting Microsoft why buy a Xbox One X if you do not have a 4K TV is really pointless

The way I would do it is, plan to buy an xbox one s or the original buy wait for Christmas or birthday and ask for the better one because some people don't research and think they're different so they get what you ask for idk it's just what I would do. But only when I know that there is money because if not then there's frankly no point
well lets see I have a 4k tv! been wishing for a 4k console before they said any thing of putting one out! true 4k (by the way ps4 pro is not its upscaled only!) the xbox one x also has a 4k bly ray player in it (not an upscaler) which already cost $300-$400! the specs make it 5x the power of the first xbox one! plus you can sell off your old xbox to help the bill! is it worth it??? As a long time gamer, I've owned many a system ranging from the Atari 2600 up to the XBox One and PS4. I have not upgraded to a PS4 Pro, and will not be upgrading to an Xbox One X either. The reason? There is no need for me to do so. The systems are backward / forward compatible, thus rendering my desire for shinier bling moot. During my teenage years I was a diehard SEGA fanboy, I would immediately run out and buy anything they were selling... So, after acquiring a Genesis, then a Sega CD, then a Gamegear, and then a 32X, I was left with 1 console with a good library of games, and 3 useless ones. I can't help but feel that this trend is repeating with what Microsoft is currently doing with their business model. Xbox One with Kinect, then without, then the S, now the X... Confusing the consumer base, rather than delivering what is most important. Games. Halo, Forza, and Gears of War will only carry them so far I'm afraid. I hope Microsoft is successful, but I really hope that this Console 1.5 trend remains with this generation.

I'm 47 with no kids. It would be easy to buy this for me. But I just bought a Xbox One S last year. My computer monitor is 4k HDR. The X is just not for me yet. I don't play as much as a person 30 years younger than me. Also I would like to see if something interesting comes out that I really like before spending that money. Though if my S dies, guess than I will buy the X.

My view on the matter: The PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are BOTH apologies from Sony and Microsoft; the consoles we got back in 2013 were not up to snuff with the 360 and PS3 were when compared to PC when they launched. Sony however decided to do what Sony does best: worry about a peripheral that has yet to prove it is more than a gimmick and seemingly rushed out the Pro. (Now before people start bashing on me for calling VR a gimmick, I want you to look at 3D TVs... remember how well those actually did?)
The Xbox One X was worked on to perform and deliver more than any console. Yes, the specs are better than the Pro... But at the same time for those who attack the CPU for being slightly better, the fact the X1X can run games at 4k and 60fps is a big draw factor. People can say what they will about not wanting frames, but having both consoles and a PC, a higher frame rate makes a difference and ups how enjoyable the experience is. At the same time it begs the question: Destiny 2 is 4k with an uncapped frame rate on PC, yet on the X and Pro is capped at 30. This makes me wonder if Sony will now demand parity for games that are available on both consoles, to ensure they are not being outperformed.
Exclusives make up for a small fraction of the market. They are not the be all, end all. Looking at sales numbers of games also indicates that they are not the biggest sellers (yes for obvious reasons as well but it does matter).
The upgrade is NOT for everyone, and is mainly targeted towards those who are wanting the best performance from their Xbox console. The same can be said about anyone who wants to upgrade to a PS4 Pro. Of course Sony cannot and will not compete with Microsoft with another upgrade to the PS4. Financially, Sony cannot and it would be a PR nightmare. A third PS4 console between $300-400 on top of the possible $800+ you spent on the first 2 (and more if you got PSVR).
All in all, these consoles are apologies. I said it in 2012 and 2013... we didn't need new consoles yet. GTA V may have pushed the hardware to its limits, but there was at least no need to release new systems until 2014... maybe even 2015. And now we are getting what we should have.

I can list a multitude of statements made by Sony and Microsoft that ended up being the polar opposite of true. Did you not read the bit about A.C being held back on PS4 and Sony throwing a hissy fit? Parity is a very real thing within the industry. It has nothing to do with Sony vs Microsoft. If one console is able to handle more than 30fps.. why hold back?

Saying there isn't a reason to buy an Xbox one X is like saying there isn't a reason to upgrade your PC. It's to upgrade it, better performance and graphics, if you play games a lot and are a console gamer their is all the appeal and reasons in the world to own this console
I'm singing this tune for quite a while now, (sum up the constant buy over such a short time, not mentioning extra peripherals and dongles) in comparison with just one above average PC build, but logic falls flat on the below 69IQ people now a days. Consoles win only on borrowed time. Let's wait 1.5 to 2 years from now and let's look back at this ATARI
I would advise anyone who loves gaming and wants 4K gaming to buy the Xbox X if you want to play 4K games you will be forking out at least £1200 bucks for a Pc to run 4K games and every games website has given this console great reviews .
I have both consoles and both are great for there individuality like exclusives and 4K native gaming .
You don't need 1200 pounds for a PC to run 4K.
Recently read that 4k TVs are not projected to be in more than 50% of homes until 2020. So Xbox X seems a little too early for me. Great console but I don't have a 4k TV so not worried about getting it right now. Also none of the exclusives wowed me either. It's like it's a beautiful piece of hardware but 75% of people can't appreciate cos they don't have 4k and also it's not got enough. If exclusives to draw people to it.
The one problem is all the consoles malfunctioning after 2 days (that’s how many days it takes to break the Xbox for some reason.)

The Price dictated how much I was going to spend on a Graphics card for my PC build. Thanks to Microsoft's announcement, I'm getting a GTX 1080. I can spend an additional $60.00 on the 1080. I mean, I'd have to get a game with the XB1X right? ;)

The X biggest challenge besides large price, lack of exclusives, for the X is the fact their next console will be coming no latter then 4 years. That really is its biggest struggle. Cause ps is no latter then 2020 and will force microsoft to counter it with another new console. Then all the new X buyers will feel screwed.
It doea really boil down to value more then visuals. The game exclusives ballenced with reasonable prices along with a sence your console will be supported up to 8 to 10 years before shutdownbor discontinued.
Nintendo really understands the concept of value for your money over the other two companys.
The switch not only offers a new way to play but great exclusives and a very reasonable price. The downgrade of visuals isnt so bad cause you are still getting amazing games on the go.
Nintendo has an amazing opertunity between 2017 to 2020 to make serious progress and grow. Playstatiom and xbox feel they are docusing to much on shiney right now. I always planed on my nintendo consoles being my second console and my ps4 being my primary. However, the tide is shifting just due to amout of time or real lack of it actually to game now that I have kids. I see way more value in the switch right now then my ps4. So i am saving for a Switch. Looks like about taax season when I will pick one up. My hardeice has over 15 ps4 games on it and I have only played about three of them more then 5 hours each. I am almost neglecting my ps4 it seems cause I dont have time like when I was single. I now am the casual player vs the middle guy in your example which is where I had been for most console generations. The nes and snes and genisis days I was Bubsy the hardcore guy. The industry is really changing . Asvantage Nintendo for atleast next 3 years then it will take ps5 atleast 2 to 3 years to hit the value spot with exclusives. Then microsoft will feel new launch pressure all over again.

The Xbox One X is really only a peeling if you have a 4K display or monitor that's the only time you'll ever get the full features but if you just have a regular 1080 display more monitor then you might as well stick with the Xbox One or Xbox One S because it would just make sense. I don't think you should spend another 500 plus dollars just for 4k monitor if you can even get a good price at that. If you're just starting to play on the Microsoft systems then I don't recommend going out to buy the Xbox One X because you can get a better price by just buying the Xbox One or One S

Why wouldn't you be considering an option to get both of these consoles where you just enjoy what they have to offer. If you have the money buy both of them. Enjoy having both... because seriously we are gamers and we want to play good games. Don't give them an opportunity to create a MONOPOLY!!!

Crazy Iniquity Cuz games are gonna start to cost $70 instead of $60 soon. These Premium 4k games are just gonna be another price point too grab more money I'm guessing soon as well. By the time we meet the next gen we will be at 8k gaming and your game will cost damn near $100 for a AAA title.

You forgot to add the players who have a ps4 and want a new xbox. I'm getting the 1X because I like that its more powerful and future proof. I don't have a 4k screen right now, but when I get one I want to know my console isn't just going to be upscaling it. Also playstation has lots of exclusives, but personally the only I am looking to buy is the new spiderman game. The only other ps exclusives that are good are the Uncharted Games and the last of us. The others I never bought so they are not a deciding factor for me. And lastly backwards compatability is a big reason i would choose an xbox, not necessarily the 1x, over a ps4. I was so jealous when xbox gamers could play all the old cods, but playstation users could not. I actually do not need my old 360 if I can play those games on the new xbox. Those are my main reasons for wanting an xbox 1x and I guess an xbox in general. Also EA access.

According to statistics, the majority of console owners don't actually care about the exclusive games. It is up to them to deliver their prestige titles as exclusives. Sony is the winner at that front and it seems that Microsoft don't cares that much about it anymore.
I live in a poor European country with high taxes, so instead, I'm planning to buy a PC with i7 and with lower end of other needed hardware, so I support none of them.
I have ps4 and xbox I love both consoles for different reasons I play more xbox not for the choice but because my friends have xbox not playstation so I use my ps4 for its exclusives and xbox for playing online multiplayer

I am very hesitant in buying the X Box X. The X Box Slim has been established over the years. Every system that I purchased on Day 1, the system still needs to be fixed for potential bugs. In other words, the day 1 releases are normally never perfect. I suggest waiting six months to a year, but in the meantime, I suggest getting the established system X ox S.

I know that this was just months ago, but when you say "using the Xbox One X features fully". Since when does people fully use their PCs? Even with the PC sales statistics (parts included), they only buy things that they will never fully use it's features. get the s cheaper comes with 4k bluray and you can enjoy all the exclusives like me i have a ps4 pro and xbone s for me this the best combination
