Another top video. Thank you very much. Best regards Martin
your famous great video as always, I invested in 2 nest smoke alarms the other day. Amazing plugin with no config and it works beautifully. That's got to be a great selling point for the HOOBS team
Great video as always, thinking of installing the nest protect in my own home. I had been trying to get the sonoff rf to learn the aico smoke alarm but it doesn’t seem to be able to learn the siren signal so think you just showed me the next best option
The Nest plugins are some of the best. Wholeheartedly recommend this setup.
Could You make a video of your recommended devices
Sure. I’ve just picked up a few new things to expand my setup. Once I have them tested I will happily film a roundup of the setup.
Great video thanks. Do you still use your nest app to schedule your heating/hot water or do you control everything via HomeKit automations
I still use the Nest app for the scheduling but only because it was easier for my family to also change the schedule.
I already had my Nest bridge setup, but this helped me get Nest Therm up and running on HomeKit. Unfortunately, the fastforward through the setup made this less valuable than it could have been. While I can operate the Nest Therm now in Homekit, it also shows a switch, and if I press the wrong button, it can switch from Heat to AC, which is really bad when my AC condenser is covered. Would prefer this accident to be a little less likely to happen. So, basically, the setup works, but what results isnt intuitive from a user perspective. I'll watch some more vids to try to fix this, but as it is now, it's definitely not ideal.
Ugh. I don’t have AC on mine so I’ve never seen that. I’ll have a dig into the documentation to see if you can turn that off.
It keeps saying unable to install plugin, plugin site unavailable...
Great video - With an easy set-up. Everything works till I try to Add bridge to the app via phone or IPad - Even tried with code. - It just times out. I have a ring bridge working fine. Any Ideas?
Are you running on a Hoobs box or on some of your own hardware? Anything in the logs suggesting that bridge keeps restarting?
@@tech_craft got a Hoobs box - realised the box is on the house wired network and the phone was on the house wireless with slightly different ip ranges. Any way to bridge these with a command in Hoobs
I don't get a button to link accounts when I install the Nest Plugin - anyone had this issue?
For me, when I try to connect to the my Nest thermostat bridge with my Home app, it just gets stuck on "Connecting to Bridge" but it never connects. And then eventually it just shows "Accessory not found." Any advice?
That sounds like the bridge might not have started properly. Do the logs asy anything?
i am getting account blocked error message?
It seems like Google very recently (like in the last week) disabled the login approach shown in the video.
The alternative can be seen in the issue tracking this: t.co/DSHOdlSA2K
