Another excellent video here.... followed it step by step and worked perfectly.... Always like your stuff, keep up the great work. If I may, I have Hoobs installed on an old laptop running Linux Mint and the only thing I had to do differently is not enable the ffmpeg version you suggested, I just use libx264 which works fine.... hope this helps someone.
The camera plugin is now called Nest Cam, not Nest Cam2. plugins.hoobs.org/plugin/homebridge-nest-cam
Thanks for the video. Was very helpful and easy to follow. Got everything added and all my cameras appear in the Home app. But when I tap on a camera to view the stream, it comes up with a spinning wheel and eventually says No Response. This Camera is not responding. I have FFMPEG installed and everything. Running Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB. What am I missing?
The plugging video it is not available someone could configure it with the google account and the refresh token

Could I use Hoobs to activate a Wemo light based on a Nest Cam motion event?
Currently there's no motion event captured for Nest Cams, but if and when that gets added, it's really easy to do this in Apple Home.
You can also use IFTTT to set that up. It’s really easy to do

hi, did you sort out which plug in is the one we need as the one he showed is not there any more or it's been updated . So it's not clear which one we have to use now.

yeah unfortunatly it is the same for me. I have added all my cameras but everytime I try to look at the feed it just stops my hoobs service and crashes.
Are you able to open a terminal and run 'ffmpeg -version'? To get the terminal from within HOOBS, click the three dots in the top right and then choose Terminal.

@@tech_craft I ran the command from above and still no luck. for whatever reason when I am using the access token it won't let me do it. I feel like I am missing something in the config file. Would it have something to do with my raspberry pi being a raspberry pi 2. not enough encoding power?

Does this plugin still exist? I installed in hoobs a plugin called Nest Cam2 but it doesn't have the same configuration as your video. It only requires a refresh token. Please advise.
This all changed recently. I haven't actually bothered to refresh my setup because this is the third (fourth?!) time this has changed and I've not found the energy to catch up!

I just set up my hoobs fresh. following your instructions but when I scan the QR code it just sits and sits then gives e "assesory can't be found"
Anything in the logs? That’s often because the plugin didn’t start correctly

hey I've managed to do everything and it shows that my nest protect is now a accessory but I can see it in homekit?? any idea what I could have done wrong?

Added the plugin to existing HOOBS config (latest version) and i see this in the logs:
So hoobs sees the cams in the background/logs but i cannot add them in the hoobs interface in rooms. Nor can i find them on my IOS device.

Do the cameras show up in the accessories view in HOOBS?
@@tech_craft No i don't see them at all in accessories view, i tried to edit to see if i can see them in "unassigned" but empty and not in the existing rooms i created

Can this Nest Doorbell now (via Hoobs) be added as a secure homekit camera to get the free iCloud recording and history?
Not yet as far as I’ve seen. There’s been some talk about it and I’m hopeful we will see it soon, but right now I don’t think it works.
How do you delete the camera cache? I have tried in the past with the incorrect coding, didnt work and decided to delete the camera from homekit... now when trying again the camera doesnt show up in nearby accessories

Does this only add the video feed? I have it setup this way but no audio and no motion sensor or person detect.

Great video! I did this a couple weeks ago, but it seems like the camera picture quality is not as good as when viewing it through the Nest app. Are there any tips to make the picture quality better or match what the camera is actually displaying through the Nest app?
Currently I think we're stuck with lower quality than the native app. I haven't done a deep dive into the code to see if this is an issue with the plugin, whether it's a limitation of accessing Nest as a third-party or if it's a matter of processing power.
I do know from experience that getting full HD out of a Raspberry Pi is not practical with a lot of cameras if any kind of video transcoding is needed.
Tech Craft I wonder if running hoobs on more power hardware for VM could help assuming there’s a way to turn up the quality.
Hi, following your instructions. Can only see one ‘issue_jwt’ and when I look for the ‘X goog....’ line under Headers tab it isn’t there. Am I missing something?
Was this a fresh log in? Did you have ‘Preserve Log’ checked before attempting to log in?
Tech Craft - Hi. It was a new login (I’m setting up HOOBS for a friend) and I had checked preserve before doing so. I noticed after writing that you’d performed this via Chrome. I was using Safari. Possible reason?
Chris Dafforne It could be. I haven’t tried it in Safari so the process might be different. It’s worth trying in Chrome.

I’ve got some flashed with Yi Hack V4 running in HOOBS using FFmpeg omx plugin but I was told that it’s an old plugin and not maintained. Just wondered if there’s anything better plugin-wise and config-wise?
I was able to install my Nest Hello into the Home app but every time I select the camera to view it, homebridge shuts down. Any ideas of what I did wrong?
Which Pi version are you using? Do the logs say anything?

Brian Kincannon That looks like FFMPEG isn’t installed. Did you install Homebridge manually or did you upgrade to HOOBS 3.1.20 from an earlier version? If so, you can install FFMPEG from the package that the HOOBS team created by running this in the terminal: wget -q -O - bit.ly/get-ffmpeg | sudo bash -
mine is on the latest plug in, i can see the camera thumbnail. when i click on the thumbnail hoobs services stop:
