    Wow, what a brilliant name for a book like this!
    "Table for one," because we talk about tabletop RPGs.
    "Table for one," because you typically go to a restaurant with others the same way we typically play with others, but if you go alone you get a "table for one".
    "Tables for one," because it's full of (random) tables for one player.
    That's such a good play on words with multiple relevant meanings, it's right up there with "Me, Myself & Die"!

    Great tool, love it! Laminated the sheets with some cool fantasy pics to decorate the backsides, clear packaging tape for bindings- makes a great solo game screen.

    Looks like a great project. I found out that random tables are really good but when you switch theme (from fantasy to SciFi) you need other random tables and when there are too many of them you are stuck. Lately I’ve been using only open questions to get all the information bases on context. This works pretty great because no matter which setting you are in you can get some information.

    I love the tables. My only issue is the busy background and greyscale make the tables hard to read. I really wish they were just the tables in black and white. I have a feeling I will be cutting all the tables out and mounting them om white card stock.

    This looks really interesting. I must admit that getting into solo play has been a bit overwhelming. I've tried to do as much research as possible but now i'm a bit overwhelmed and just want to play 😂 but don't know where to really start. I love the simplicity and I love that I could make it into a GM screen. I do have one question. Since I'm so new to solo play (but not group play) how does one find an adventure? While I do feel that I have a very vivid imagination and have read a lot of fantasy books, I'm not sure i could totally wing an adventure out of thin air for my first solo.

    • @swordssolitude3861

      The first page has Quest generator tables :) with action words, like “defend” or “locate” and then nouns like “person” or “chalice” - and then if you want more detailed info you can use other tables for descriptions. Additionally, the Yes / No oracle chart can help with questions and you can really get into a flow state with the imagination this way. Hope this helps. If you are still struggling, why not start with the opening paragraph of an existing adventure module? Cheers!

    Hi S&S - I have a similar set of tools - some of my own - others gathered together from books etc. (Probably like a lot of other gamers.)
    I think it’s a great idea, but I think the price point may be a bit high for experienced gamers who may have some material they are working with.

    • @swordssolitude3861
      @swordssolitude3861  Рік тому +11

      Thanks for the feedback Erik. First off, if anyone reading this is struggling financially and wants a copy I am happy to send this for free - just DM me! Here are my thoughts: I priced it at what I would be willing to pay. I don’t have a way of knowing how experienced a player is or what similar tools they might already have, but I think $7.99 is fair considering the design that went into it. If it were just a booklet I would consider less but the concept and layout took 80 hours and all of the artwork is my own (300 hours). Unfortunately with student debt and inflation and being an artist generally, I am struggling to survive. After 15 years of getting ripped off by the music industry (club owners and Spotify lol) I told myself during my pivot back to visual art that I’d charge what I’m worth. I tried to hit a sweet spot by making it more affordable than print-on-demand books but not so cheap that I can’t recoup costs (my own time). Personally I think this tool is more useful on the fly than Mythic or Tome of Adventure Design at a fraction of the cost. I even played a GM-less game with friends the other night and it was not only the best zero-prep session, but one of the best group sessions I’ve ever had! If I stumble into some generational wealth I didn’t know about I will lower the cost at some point :p I hope this sheds some light!

      I had some 8.5 x 11” magazine boards lying around (what people use to ship comics). But you could use any type of thin cardboard, cereal boxes etc. I just taped the print-outs around all the edges with packing tape. It’s really down to preference. Hope this helps!

    • @swordssolitude3861
      @swordssolitude3861  Рік тому +2

      I used magazine boards I had lying around - thin cardboard or chipboard will also work. I used packing tape sliced longways down the middle and taped carefully around all of the edges of the paper, then kinda folded it around the cardboard. Then to connect the sections I just taped them vertically, alternating front / back as I went to be able to fold it. Hope this helps!
