I am in the younger demographic, I test drove a ton of EV SUVs: Genesis GV 60/70, Ionic 6 (yes, I know its a sedan), Ionic 5, EV 6 GT, Mustang Mach E, Equinox EV, Honda Prologue, Toyota BZ4X, Tesla Model Y and more. The Lyriq was just far and away the more luxurious vehicle. The Mercedes and the BMW were $20K more. It was a no brainer, I got the Lyriq Tech AWD for $100 less per month than my quote on the Ioniq 6 and even cheaper than I was quoted for the Equinox EV. I never thought I would drive a Cadillac, but now I do. It is worth a look.

Had my Lyriq for 6 months and LOVE IT! I get compliments daily from all ages. Anyone who rides in it wants one. AKG may not be Bose but sounds great to my ears, I guess I'm not that technical about my music. No issues 6 months in with several long-distance trips. Supercruise is great! The Lyriq hits the luxury sporty sweet spot for me!

What Jack SHOULD have said at 9:11: "You should choose this if you want a premium BEV D-segment SUV that has a nicer interior and quieter cabin than a Model Y, and, more importantly, isn't a Tesla."
That's it, no? This is not a world-beater, but it's a credible alternative. Rivian, Lucid (who do have an SUV) are too expensive, Fisker is dead in the water, the Germans (EQE SUV etc.) and upcoming EX90 are more expensive, Mach-E/EV9 etc. are not premium... there really is a niche for this. Don't reduce it to Supercruise.

Exactly. Pretending that Supercruise is the only reason to choose a Cadillac over a Tesla is absolutely hilarious especially considering the fact Tesla has become synonymous with autonomous driving. They were both being so dense in that scene and playing dumb it was actually cringeworthy.

I believe the AKG issue is the very aggressive active noise cancellation system. Nearly every reviewer has commented on how eerily quiet the Lyriq is underway, and it's because of the noise cancellation.
I've got the AKG system on a CT5-V Blackwing and found you have to push the volume to at least 45% to get the full dynamic spectrum (sound is a bit hollow at regular volumes) at which point the sound is quite good.
I believe the hole in the audio spectrum you captured is ANC over-performing. GM may need to provide an option to ratchet ANC down or off if they don't on the Lyriq.

Hoovie and April hit it on the head. The Lyriq has a "return to old school luxury" appeal, particularly in the areas Caddy was always known for: cushy suspension, cushy seats, huge trunk, some glitz and polarizing design (huge fins). In a world of modern spaceships, old school American luxury in an EV seems like a win. My wife got excited at the prospect of trading her Mercedes for one. Love this channel and I agree with the general sentiment that much of this class is just more of the same, but I don't think you guys are giving the Lyriq enough credit. Clearly it's doing something right given how well it is selling. Over 3000 Lyriqs sold last month, which is over a third of GM's EV sales, and around a quarter of Cadillac's *total* sales.
Not finding a vehicle's appeal doesn't mean it isn't out there. From what I've seen, the two biggest selling points for the Lyriq are the styling and the pricing. Some people hate how it looks, but a lot of people love it, and it's certainly something different from the sea of aerodynamic blobs that is the EV market. With all the incentives and rebates available, the Lyriq undercuts (and outsells) most of its competitors. The fast charging and Super Cruise also don't hurt.
The Lyriq isn't a fun to drive enthusiast car like the Blackwings, but it doesn't have to be. It does what it's supposed to do well, and is a pretty big step forward for GM and Cadillac that seems to be paying off based on sales and public image. If quality & interior continue to improve, Cadillac might genuinely have a shot at repairing their image and sales.

Now, when wintertime hits up here in Western NY, my opinion might change but as it stands now, the Lyriq is a great daily driver. I get compliments all the time on it from all age groups, the interior is comfortable, I think the sound system is great & it drives great. I can drive from Rochester, NY to Buffalo & Niagara Falls visiting customers for work & then back to Rochester & still have 100-120 miles of range left (this is charging to 100%). I drive the NYS Thruway on super cruise at 78mph when traveling for work.
I charge at home with the GM Level 2 charger, I get 29-30 miles of range per hour when charging.
Some of my previous daily drivers were the Trackhawk, Durango Hellcat & Escalade. I still love gas vehicles, the primary vehicle for wife & kids is a ‘24 Escalade, so any long road trips gets the gas vehicle.
I think that electric is a good move for a 2-car household where one vehicle is gas & one is electric. I’m saving an average of $625 a month in fuel & my monthly charging bill at home is somewhere around $65 for the Lyriq.
Factor in that the leases are super cheap for the Lyriq with the Federal credit, NYS credit, Costco discount, free home charger & free install of home charger-the Lyriq is a steal for what it offers.

I drove a C300 for the better part of 1,000 miles a few years ago & had to place a towel over the center console to keep from being blinded by the sun. Glossy &/or polished decorative bits have no place in the front driver or passenger space of cars. My wife and I just went through the shopping process for an EV. We drive a ~60 miles loop each day for school drop off, office, school pick up, and back home. Long enough that fuel costs add up, but not long enough that total range or charging times matter. We have a second ICE car for roadtrips. The number of competent but generic EV vehicles out there that are broadly interchangeable is shocking. We ended up with a Subaru Solterra because the dealership gave us the best price. But prices are so unmoored from MSRP at this point that we could have ended up anywhere. Hyundais were marked up. Kias were marked up. Fords were marked down. Teslas are Teslas. Toyota PHEVs were back ordered. Volvo EVs were back ordered and marked up. Subaru gave us $10k off list, but the next week we could have needed up in a Genesis for all I know.

Haven’t driven the Lyriq but have driven an EV6 and have experience with a Bolt.
I think where this vehicle makes a lot of sense is when you start to consider what ICE vehicles in this size class cost. A Lyriq Tech (base trim) is well equipped and can be had for same or less than stuff like Grand Cherokee, Lexus RX, Acura MDX, BMW X5, MB GLE, Audi Q7, Lincoln Aviator, Volvo XC90, etc.
So I think for some folks see the value in getting this because it offers a lot, and it really lacks a clear direct competitor.
The Model Y is a size down, EV9 is sorta close but for are you really going to take a Kia when you can have a Cadillac? The Macan EV is considerably more and smaller. And that’s really all that’s on sale…
Metro Cars are now using Lyriq’s as an airport shuttle car - tbh a great set up for livery service with big trunk & backseat.
And the leases on the Lyriq are not bad
I’ll possibly in the market for a new vehicle at the end of the year and this is on my radar, along with Charger EV, 500e, Equinox/Blazer EV, Lucid Air. Would like an EV but not married to it - it will come down to what vehicle will give me the most utility and value for the dollar (on a lease).
Might even consider a Hybrid or PHEV vehicle but there doesn’t seem to be any amazing incentives or lease programs at the moment, so it’s not really on my radar.

I’ve had one for a year, 30k miles in and love the car … in the summer, on the expressway, at 70mph you can easily get 3 mile per KWh, you can start deducting for anything over 73-75mph, at 80 mph you definitely aren’t getting 3 but what 6000 lb SUV is?
Super confident in the snow as well which is a huge advantage no one ever talks about. When the temps are in the teens and you’re blasting the heat and flying down the highway your efficiency will drop to 2 or below. You’ll lose 1/3 to 1/2 your distance depending on how you drive, how much you use the heat etc
Now the Tesla supercharger network is available so long distance travel should be simpler (w an attachment). Best car I’ve ever owned, by far, and it’s not even close. It’s such an underrated car, Cadillac did a great job on a vehicle that starts around $55k .. especially when you consider the Average price for a new car in the US is $50k … add EV incentives, GM discounts, Costco , a $2k home charger installation allowance for QMerit (are they still doing this?) and your getting a lot of bang for the buck!

We just picked up our Sport 3 AWD in Emerald Lake Metallic with the Juniper Nappa leather interior...it is absolutely amazing to look at and sit in (IMHO). Easily the best and most interesting EV on the market in it's price range. There are literally 6-8 Tesla's at every interaction here in California and the Lyriq is such a refreshing departure from that styling. As far as driving, the quietest car I've ever driven and I appreciate it immensely as I have profound hearing loss at the age of 46 and the lack of road/wind noise makes conversation so much better for me in the car. We leased the car and got almost $10k in discounts + $7500 added on to the residual value. Heck of a lease deal on an $80k car. There are certainly a few odd design choices for the car (like the bright chrome around the climate controls that is rather blinding in direct sunlight). So far the wife and I both enjoy the audio system. Maxing out the surround slider and bumping up some of the values in the equalizer helped a lot. Overall, we love the car so far...its fast, quiet, smooth, comfortable, full of tech, stands out on the road, is very spacious, and dealers are offering great incentives right now. We will see how things go over the next 3 years of the lease!

It might be a challenge for auto makers to invest a lot of time and money into a market segment that isn't growing as anticipated. Buyers are going a little soft on EVs lately, so what to do? Feel quite disconnected from Savage Geese lately. 2 cars we have direct knowledge of, the Lyriq and the Lucid. Completely opposite verdicts. The Lucid is perhaps the most hated vehicle in our family. Young and old alike. Horrible design choices everywhere and cheap parts. It’s fast as hell. But the efficiency is way off. Their self hype around being super efficient is 3/4 BS. We get 3.5 miles per kwh on 8k miles of ownership so far. Way off the 4.6 they state. Supposed to get 400+ miles. We don’t cross 300 usually. Lyriq says 3 miles/kwh. We typically get 3.1-3.2. Not far off the Lucid and you are dealing with an SUV body. Software design is way better in the Lyriq. Materials. Kids are teenagers. They think the Lyriq is way cooler looking and more comfortable to sit in. Market verdict also opposite Savage Geese. Lyriq is the best selling premium EV right now. 50% conquest sales. So they are drawing tons of new buyers. Lucid is stagnant, with no growth. Guys are way off on this one.

Get the hell outta here! The body style compared to the competitors is aggressive, sporty, more luxurious and sexy. The cabin is quite - too quiet but without the radio you will notice more wind and compartment sounds - just like Tesla models. I’m not an audiophile but I love movies, music and a good audio set up. I have a 9.1 Denon and Martin Logan Dolby Atmos setup in my basement which sounds ridiculous. I love listening and distinguishing sound levels, clarity, and whispers from different directions. When driving and listing to music - I don’t compare the two setups but I know the Lyriq sounds DAMN good. No one has sat in my Lyriq and complained about the audio. The Lryiq is spacious, about the same size as my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The battery: Tesla Y is 320 - Audi Q8 is 285. The Lyriq fully charged is 350 miles. The Ionic is ugly as iiish and cost the same. The prices between each car is on par with different editions. The Lyriq is perfect for two row body style that will fit easily in your two car garage.
As an owner, I don’t like that we don’t have the same Tesla camera recording security features and we have the same advance cameras (GMC said they are releasing this option). I don’t like the weaker massaging seats. I don’t like that the Cadillac software ONLY sometimes pulls up the camera features we pulling up to a tight situation. The software is nice and fast but not on par with some of the competitors. I don’t like that there aren’t more compartments to keep items (just three) when my older gas cars have four. There’s no proper HEADS UP DISPLAY (2023/2024) and I have the Luxury 3 model loaded. The AC vents while comfortable - can be relocated for better face air contact and the rear seats feel lacking.
For the reviewer, I’d suggest you get back to cleaning septic tanks as your complaints for this car are not valid.

I’ve seen you do this multiple times. well, to your point; if they all feel the same and do the same things, why would I choose those crappy Korean or German cars over this?? Are we trying our hardest not to buy an American car? Why does this have to do anything extraordinary if none of the others do? Is it because it’s an American car it has to walk on water to be considered?
when there’s a underperforming Lexus on here, you’ll spend the whole video making excuses for it, trying to find reasons why it’s good. You can see it all over jacks face when he clearly knows a certain Japanese car is giving you NOTHING for your money, yet mark will cut him off, say “I 100% disagree” as his whole tone of voice and body language changes because he’s frustrated with Jack putting the hurtful truth of reliability not being enough to make up for crappy lackluster cars.
