Video Update: At about 7:00 minutes in this video, I listed the compatible DJI products that work with the Goggles. You can now add the DJI Spark to the list with the newest update. Here is the link to the information: www.dji.com/newsroom/news/dji-spark-firmware-update-enhances-flight-safety
Focus, in the case of old guys like me, is paramount. I use Varilux lenses in my personal loupes and I had to add +3 diopter to the DJI hood for sharp focus. This added thickness and put pressure on my nose bridge. DJI must not ignore we old guys as we can afford to buy their products far better than the teens they created this optical marvel for.
I've solved that old fart eyesight problem, I've just turned 70 a few days ago and tomorrow I have a corneal transplant, I've got a 70% chance it'll give me back my younger day's good eyesight. Thankfully, due to my war service the Government foots the bill.
Well done - thanks. It was useful for me since I too unboxed my goggles and basically had no clue what to do. And thanks for the comment below that says that these can be used with Xbox, etc. I can't wait to test that. And as for the comment a couple months ago claiming this video sucks, well admittedly you could have edited it better but for those of us with Mavic Pros and these Goggles (mine is the RE edition actually) I found the choppiness of your presentation well overcome by the great content you convert in the video. I look forward to seeing your next videos on this topic
Thank you for the great comment and for watching this one! I've got the basic ideas down for a few more videos on these - but I've been traveling a lot lately (and that awful work-thing), so I just need some time to get those together. I appreciate your encouragement, so I'll move those up my priority list! Happy flying! :-)
Just got my mavic pro, and the goggles arrive in a couple of days, but really bro, it didn't take that long to upgrade. I went fly another drone while waiting, and let me say this, soooo worth the wait. THIS THING IS FRKN AWESOME! cant wait for goggles
You think it'd be easier than ever. I just bought and recieved my re-newed set of DJI goggles. So I link to controller and the aircraft (mavic air) like it says on the tutorial video and then plug the goggles in and when I look in the goggles it says to press the linking button on the aircraft. Well I've tried and I'm lost and I'm just just starting your video and hope it helps me out. Thx
I hope it helps! If you have problems, let me know. I'll see if I can help. It was definitely a struggle! honestly, it's been awhile since I've used the goggles so I could use the refresher myself!
@@OldPongGeezeryeah it seems I watched 5 different videos and get different ways on each one.. so just finished your video and it did help me understand a little more. Gonna go give it another try lol.. thx again
Kind of a long one, but I really wanted to capture the hard time I had trying to get through the DJI updates and trying to link the goggles to the Mavic using only the on-screen instructions. It did not go well. Until I stopped and thought about it. Hope this helps, or at least gives you some good information to consider. I am interested in your experiences with this device. Happy flying.
Subbed I'm getting my dji goggles end of this month for my Mavic Pro I can't wait I've being learning with the Dji spark and I've just bought the mavic pro had about 15 flights on it. Can I ask the goggles link by ocusync with the Mavic so you basically get the same range as using the controller. I have noticed in the settings in go4 app you have normal hd and smooth mode is that for the goggles? Thanks
update for people who live in Mexico with Mavic Pro2 and goggles that do not work after the first firmware update (or do not work at all) Take them back to the store and get them updated by the store. This just happened to me. Long technical story compliments DJI China.
I loose the Link between my DJI Goggles and the Mavic when I shut down after landing. I then have to re-link before the next flight. Do you know how I can preserve the linking between flights?...Larry link
Hi Larry! Thank you for watching the video and your question. Honestly I don't know. I have not tried that. It would be nice if the goggles automatically reconnected, like headphone to your cell phone, but I don't think it works that way. I will try it out and see if I can find a solution. Does anyone else out there in UA-cam Land have a way to keep the goggles connected like Larry is looking for?
Thanks for the comment! Is that a suggestion, or more of a question? Personally, I would not want to dismantle anything in order to update the Mavic... it already seems like it takes forever to perform updates and they always seem to occur at the worst possible time - usually right before I need to fly. I wish DJI would manage updates like Microsoft is doing for Windows 10 - cumulative, scheduled and optional when you want to apply it. But having to take the props off for an update? Yuck.
some of r prone to motion sickness u n me both r, so expect it especially if u fly for long periods. the recovery time sucks and age makes it worst. my wife is ten years younger than me and she's now starting to get sick when flying any fpv goggles or fpv video games
Thanks Craig for the comment and watching the video! I want to make another video with more information about using the goggles, and will take more time talking about that motion sickness! I'll try to talk my daughter into being the "young" test case - see if there is any difference in that age thing you mention :-) I tend to agree that these goggles are for the young and the bold.
Old Pong Geezer thanks I notice when t.v. s Got bigger I started getting sick when playing for videos games, so I stopped playing games, and I really love video games, so I tried them on 20" tv with no problem. But u no some people even have seizures which is scary. When I start feeling funny I put them down. That's my observation hope u can use it . Those types of games where u can't see the person u controlling is the worst on a big screen
I agree with the age thing. I am a teacher (40) and my high school students can use VR for a whole class period with no problem. I however get dizziness, nausea, and have even broke out in sweat after using them 10 minutes. I am about to try to link this thing but I just realized I have the Mavic 2, so not sure if it will work the same.... may have to search for another video. My bad.
Hi Amanda, thanks for watching. Made this vid way before Mavic2 was out! I would think it would work...be interested in knowing what you find out. (...he said, searching for a reason to buy a new drone...) 😏

There are clamp on reading glasses of varying strength available from multiple vendors

Was waiting to see what you thought of the goggles after owning them for awhile but I don't see any videos.

Wow. That was a great review. Awesome 👏
Thanks Tyronne...b
More of a review how not to go about it. I was a rough start.

Just make sure you have full battery on both tx and drone for upgrades
+Paula Courville no doubt - great advice Paula. Thanks for the comment!

Great Lyndon! Glad you found it helpful! I really appreciate the comment and your time to watch this! Happy flying.
Decent content , how come you don’t have more subs???
Takes the props off while updating man geeez

I always disconnect props if I’m updating inside

+Did3D Okay! Thanks for watching and commenting!
