THIS IS AMAZING ....I WANT ONE NOW !!!!! - BEST GOGGLES I HAVE SEEN SO FAR. I like your videos you get straight to the point and you only provide us with useful information ...some people talk too much crap when they are doing videos
This was one of the best videos explaining the whole process of use as seen from inside the goggles. Your video sold me on making this purchase. Nice work!!
The shots controlled by the goggles reminded me of the scene in Willy Wonka where they shoot out of the top of the building in the glass elevator and fly over the city. Except like...the 1971 version of the movie where the cam is shaky as hell and makes you dizzy lmao
In your video you can pan the Gimble left and right with the goggles.. previously we have only been able to go up and down. Can you show the extent of the pan and tilt of the Gimble with the googles.. thanks, great video!!
FYI, Experimented tonight with my DJI Goggles. Recently purchased a used pair and a used Mavic Pro. They both work great. But, after hearing for years that the Phantom 3 pro needed the HDMI Module installed onto the controller and seeing a video of how to hook up the Phantom 4 Pro to the DJI goggles, I thought, What the hell. I simply plugged my USB cable from the P3P controller to the goggles and it worked. Not just a video feed but the entire working display. Took it outside and flew it in my back yard. Pays sometimes to not just believe all of what you hear because you usually hear it from someone who heard it from someone but really don't have a clue how accurate it may be. Well, It in fact works. Just make sure your firmware is all up to date.
awesome - congrats on getting your hands (or face) on this goggles so early! one issue I think of while watching: if DJI recommends the pilot / goggles split: you as the goggle wearer can control cam angle and totally confuse the pilot (if he is using the phones screen for flying). so this combo is only for LOS flying - and LOS with this small drone is max 100m... I can totally see myself using it with controller and goggles as the same person rather! greets, RCSchim
Good video. Thanks! Not sure about the footage though. Hope all this movement is just because you have to get used to controlling with the goggles. Otherwise it would be a dealbreaker for me.
I have been watching your videos on the DJI goggles thank you very much it has been very informative in my decision making, but one question that I had that you never mentioned can you hook up your phone to the controller to also see what it's doing if someone else has the goggles on, and then you can also see what is playing oon the cell phone? ... the question I have is I know you are limited on intelligent flight modes on the goggles can you set the waypoints on your cell phone and still able to see it on your your cell phone? thank you very much..i never saw you mentioned in your videos..
I'd like to see how the footage captured turns out please - and perhaps some more around techniques on how to use the goggles effectively while filming + photo'ing please
cheers for the video, looks really big and bulky thou but im guessing it works really well, its a shame its so big as its not gonna be very handy for using while out on the motorbikes, and thats the reason i got my mavic so it was so small.. i might wait for the V2 of the goggles.
This is in the manual...Only Head Tracking Flight can be enabled when using Fixed Wing Mode. This head tracking function should be enabled before entering the fixed wing cruise option and your head is best kept stable at that time. Is this statement correct?
Looks amazing in terms of functionality. Clearly, no FPV goggles look good. we all look like idiots wearing these but man they are packed with features.
Nice review. Can you not have your phone showing the pilot app like normal when these are connected? If not, that's a big fail. I didn't see it on your controller.
Ive been using Fatshark HD3 goggles with my Pro Platinum, and all I can say is "WHY WOULD YOU WEAR A BREADBOX ON YOUR HEAD?, THE 80'S ARE OVER!!!" The HD3's are small, thin, sleek, light, sporty, professional, and look amazing!.....No-brainer guys!!
Awesome video, thanks so much! Aside from the playback feature from a previously recorded flight, is there a way to adjust the settings or a different set of goggles where the viewer can see it in real time but not actually be the pilot? For example say someone is flying using the drone controller as they would without the goggles but someone can be watching the active flight through the goggles? One suggestion to enhance your great videos is to insert a link within the video when you reference a past video. That way a viewer can quickly open up that previously recorded video rather than digging through the library to find it, just a thought.
My goggles came yesterday. I have spent most of today learning the menu. One thing I have found hard to do is find the back and function buttons on the bottom. For some reason my muscle memory is not locking on to them. I think they are too flat and both feel the same to me. I am thinking of a way to glue some kind of dimple or circle on them so I can find them easier. Other than that, these things are the best thing since a pocket on a shirt. I love them and I bought used so the price was really right.
How Alex, Nowhere in the Dji goggles user manual does it give instructions on how to calibrate the IMU? In fact the IMU isn't even mentioned at all in the manual. Could you do a short video on how to calibrate the IMU for the goggles? I can't even find an instruction video anywhere on how to perform a IMU calibration on the goggles. Dji website doesn't even have an instruction video on it!
Absolutely loved this review and would also like to know the name of the music cut that was used for back ground. Thanks..looking forward to your next review!
For commercial ops VLOS is (almost always b/c the waiver is nearly impossible to get) mandatory so obviously two operators would be needed for every mission to use these. That's not a deal-breaker for larger providers (solo operators, no way), however there's some very noticeable lag and "jello" in the headset's movement recognition and image quality that would be. I'm not sure there's much that's revolutionary here and would be inclined as a consumer to just go with Fatsharks until DJI gets to the next generation of these goggles. For commercial operations there's also Epson's BT-300 smart glasses which fulfills both FPV and VLOS needs for pilots.
great demo...thanks. appears the head/tilt/pan movements need to be smoother. have you tried changing the gimbal controls within the menu yet? If so, does that help smooth out the movement?
Good video.. Great review of its capabilities... but I want my HDMI Fat Sharks. That huge thing defeats the compactness of the Mavic, heck its as big as the Mavic hehehe.
Great, but what about the myriad of DJI flyers who cannot get or keep the video down link working? I have a Phantom 3 Pro that lost the video link as soon as it updated the software. Having read every blog I realized it was a very common issue. Have tried every so called fix including ones recommended from DJI Support afterr waiting in the queue for two hours... still no fix. Last resort apparently is to sent the thing back. If it takes as long to fix as a function of wait time in a queue to talk to support, I might as well buy a new Phantom 4 and get this one back in time for my newborn grandson to play with!
Reviews like this encouraged me to buy a pair. After being very underwhelmed by the poor definition of resolution and the clumsiness I returned mine after two days. It is a much clearer image just looking at your iPad.
You're not supposed to look down or backward when the craft is moving opposite direction. It's a common issue with VR itself and not only DJI google. I felt that way with my Oculus Rift the first few hours but got used to it quick. Our brain is amazing and will recalibrate to cope the new experience.
19:20 i would disagree about buddy system. Matter of fact your more aware with goggles. its like playing a vr game and you fly better fpv. because if you just look at drone with out goggles you wouldn't know where your drone is facing at 30-40 ft away or if you look towards the sun. plus i feel safer and more in control of the drone through goggles then looking at it with out the goggles..
given that you can't see anything around or above you with just the goggles it would be complete insanity to rely solely on goggles. Furthermore, anyone doing this commercially would be in violation of just about every rule the CAA/FAA has in place. Great for camera operation no doubt, but for flying safely solo? Not a hope.
You are certainly not more aware with goggles. Anyone who flies FPV knows this. The spotter rule is there for a reason. Many times I've been flying with my buddy, and because one of us was spotting while one of us was flying, we were able to avoid a possibly dangerous, or at least startling situation, for other people in the area.
Desrtfox71 I would disagree with right equipment and right viewing. FPV is lot more safer as for doing buddy system yes it's good but way we fly via phone FPV like how you fly looking up and down you can disorient your self from the drone.. yes buddy system is good but as pilot stand point. I wouldn't feel safe LOS knowing you not able see direction your going with naked eye. Saying your buddy can be distracted also.. so meaning your back to square one. And just trusting on FPV to figuring how plan out your situation. And if you notice in video the buddy flying is having trouble figuring where drone is and has to use the FPV to figure out where he is.. thus it's back trusting FPV.. and between switching back and forth you may lose your since of location and direction making it worst..
you dont need see above you. if your worried what above you really shouldnt be flying that far away indoors or under something. all you need see is the ground and what affront of you. you should be 10-15 ft away in doors or through outdoor object to really see your drone.. any thing farther well thats just reckless and carelessness.
Good job with your UA-cam videos. Recently acquired P4P+ and DJI Goggles RE. Don’t intend to Race, primarily for aerial photography for our Real Estate business. Interested in the connection capabilities with the P4P+ and RE Goggles - must it be Wired with USB cable or is there Wireless capability with P4P+. ?? Jim Wilson, Boca Raton, FL, USA.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I think you could improve the show by sticking to mainly dialog and doing away with the music segments. (I found them distracting and ended up scrolling through the video quickly, no doubt missing valuable information.) Thanks again!
Thanks for the great video. Interesting product. Having a second person is not ideal given the second person might not have the experience of flying (if you want to be the person controlling the video or vice versa). You touched on the advantages of the goggles, besides the obvious - racing, how can this be better than setting some way-points and letting the drone do everything, me thinks the drone / software can do a better job of recording stable video because it is not worrying about a human head moving ever so much left, right, up or down.
I have a question for you. I'd like to get a set of goggles. I wanted to know if a friend is wearing the goggles can I still see with my smart phone so I can give my friend a ride but I can still see where the Mavic is going. Bob
According to DJI's own video advertisement, you can connect up to 4 goggles to one drone at the same time. You can also watch from a tablet or smartphone and goggles at the same time.
Please tell me you can adjust the sensitivity as the video footage was so jerky, it was constantly jerky all the time so you wouldn't want to film with this. Fingers crossed this can be rectified
For the price they sound great but one thing that I cannot find is how do you turn off the motion tracking. There is no way you can film cinematic shots by holding your head still and then panning etc with your head. Yes it's great for FPV racing but useless otherwise. I just want the view from the goggles along with the power display info and all movements of the craft I want to do them with the remote.
I have a question about the dgi spark and dgi googles but I have the drone and the googles but no controller and yes I can fly with out the spark controller with my phone but can you used the googles too.
Look like something out of the SAW movie. Is there a flush handle? lol cool machine, but im not sure i would love wearing a pc on my head. cool none the less
I'm interested in VR and FPV, given the cost of the respective goggles Id be more interested in something I could use for both, but I guess it comes down to the right tools for the job.
Thank you for sharing. One question please can the person using the controller also see where it is flying on a phone or tablet, as the person wearing the googles ? Thans
I have a Phantom 4 pro, is this compatible? I understand hmdi cables are needed, but is there any way I could get one person controlling the drone, while another watches through the goggles? Also, could you have the Dji go app open on a tablet while also using these, so you have 2 live feeds?
Your videos are excellent, all of them, very helpful and timely. Thank you so much, thumbs UP of course, very helpful with the details and commentary.
THIS IS AMAZING ....I WANT ONE NOW !!!!! - BEST GOGGLES I HAVE SEEN SO FAR. I like your videos you get straight to the point and you only provide us with useful information ...some people talk too much crap when they are doing videos
How did you get ones?
Nice video though
Very informative tutorial bud. First and best I have seen that focuses on the functions of the DGI goggles. Cheers mate.
Dynamite video, all I needed to know. I want a pair for my own channel.
This was one of the best videos explaining the whole process of use as seen from inside the goggles. Your video sold me on making this purchase. Nice work!!

can't wait to get mine..i paid & ordered it yesterday. .has to be shipped from the US & i should have it in about 4wks 😊
Congratulations!! You've made a better presentation than DJI !! Good job.
In your video you can pan the Gimble left and right with the goggles.. previously we have only been able to go up and down. Can you show the extent of the pan and tilt of the Gimble with the googles.. thanks, great video!!

Subscribed.
awesome - congrats on getting your hands (or face) on this goggles so early!

if DJI recommends the pilot / goggles split:

Love the video. Where is that taken?
Great Video....can you tell me if I can calibrate my drone with the googles. Or do I need my I phone or pad???? thanks so much
Great review! My goggles will be here any minute
Looks amazing in terms of functionality. Clearly, no FPV goggles look good. we all look like idiots wearing these but man they are packed with features.
Can you control the Goggle menu via the tiny joystick on the Mavic remote?
Nice review. Can you not have your phone showing the pilot app like normal when these are connected? If not, that's a big fail. I didn't see it on your controller.
Very intresting stuff! If it comes in "Mavic"-grey or jet black...I am sold LOL. Thank you for sharing! (thumbs up)
Goggles are typically not dark as they would absorb a lot of heat when used outdoors via sunlight.
Ok, what about looking uncool while doing it? LOL
paint it black.
Great video thank you. With the Mavic Pro can you take pictures in the same time you're shooting a video?
Ive been using Fatshark HD3 goggles with my Pro Platinum, and all I can say is "WHY WOULD YOU WEAR A BREADBOX ON YOUR HEAD?, THE 80'S ARE OVER!!!"

I'm planning to buy used goggles too, but I'm not sure. I heard that it is uncomfortable.
@@xgio Mine were not uncomfortable. You don't wear them long enough to be a pain.
would be nice to have VR camera for UAV pilot, & other camera for getting scenery.
Can you watch 360° videos with the Goggles? Thanks for the video
Awesome review. Pretty indepth.

Where are you located? The location is impressive.
Do you still need to connect your phone to fly the Mavic with the DJI goggles? I mean using the remote + goggles + drone.
Absolutely loved this review and would also like to know the name of the music cut that was used for back ground. Thanks..looking forward to your next review!
Great video man. Appreciate it very much.. Could you please do a quick video on how to set up DJI Phantom 3 Pro with the Goggles.. Thanks..
For commercial ops VLOS is (almost always b/c the waiver is nearly impossible to get) mandatory so obviously two operators would be needed for every mission to use these. Got my Mavic last week and this is the next one, from DJI Chinese site, it starts shipping on 20th May 2017!
Man, where do I get a pair? Those are beautiful!
Amazing! Is it worth getting them with the Mavic Pro? does it extremely add to the flight experience?
Great review! When will they be released? What is the price? Are the 720 or better? Are you going to test them with the P4P?
450$ !
$450 USD. Purchase here: click.dji.com/APgiYKQEq7hH8t3hZAve?pm=link
Thank you!

Good video.. Great review of its capabilities... but I want my HDMI Fat Sharks. That huge thing defeats the compactness of the Mavic, heck its as big as the Mavic hehehe.
Do you get a out of body experience when you look at your own self from a short distance in real time?
I know the goggles take HDMI import. Does that mean you can pull up UA-cam 360 videos and watch them with your goggles?
Great, but what about the myriad of DJI flyers who cannot get or keep the video down link working? I have a Phantom 3 Pro that lost the video link as soon as it updated the software. WOW! This is awesome for my Marvic, but how about the Epson BT300 how does it compare to DJI Goggles?
alrestauro o
Hi, great review ! Will normal glasses fit into the goggles or how have DJI adressed the issue with some peoples need of glasses ?
Reviews like this encouraged me to buy a pair. After being very underwhelmed by the poor definition of resolution and the clumsiness I returned mine after two days. It is a much clearer image just looking at your iPad.

No mention of a focus knob? IPD only is a bit disappointing. So only for people with DJI standard eyes?

Great review of the DJI goggles. I just subbed to your channel and I can't wait to see more of it.
thanks bro!
Excellence in tutorial videos brother!! Very good review and sample of the goggle's. Thank you!! I'm your newest subscriber.
Good job with your UA-cam videos. Recently acquired P4P+ and DJI Goggles RE. Don’t intend to Race, primarily for aerial photography for our Real Estate business. Pre ordered mine!!!!
have fun
Very nice presentation. Thumbs up!
Is this a lobotomy harness? if you want 1080 p googles get Fatshark base HD
Why is there a mini SD card slot for? Perhaps we don't need to connect our phones anymore if using the goggles?
Thanks for the great video. Interesting product. Great review - thanks for posting
Thank you for watching!
This is a really good and detail review! Thanks for sharing!
Whats the max. distance can the googles work at. i ask cause obviously they are not working with the goggles directly like HDMI.
Hello, are you able to see a display of the map in the display of the dji goggles ?
I have a question for you. I'd like to get a set of goggles. I wanted to know if a friend is wearing the goggles can I still see with my smart phone so I can give my friend a ride but I can still see where the Mavic is going.
Bob
When do you think that they will be available in the US. I see three in China on Ebay. I don't feel comfortable with the purchase.
What artist and music is playing at 18.00 mins into the video? I really liked that!
Will it allow pilot to view on ipad or phone at the same time ?
According to DJI's own video advertisement, you can connect up to 4 goggles to one drone at the same time. You can also watch from a tablet or smartphone and goggles at the same time.
Thanks for using the terms "tablet or smartphone" in your reply:-)
It would be great if camera would move with your googles in all directions where you look.
Please tell me you can adjust the sensitivity as the video footage was so jerky, it was constantly jerky all the time so you wouldn't want to film with this. Fingers crossed this can be rectified
Great, you are the first one to review! How did you manage to do that?

How is the latency!?!??!! Can you fly the Mavic in sport mode FPV?
does the live feed you see in the goggles stutter/freeze sometimes or is it super smooth while flying?
Excellent walk thru, thank you
thanks :)
That was an awesome video, thank you guys well done. Looking forward to more vids from you!
thank you :)
Can you review the Dji Goggles RE?
Thank you for sharing. One question please can the person using the controller also see where it is flying on a phone or tablet, as the person wearing the googles ? Thans
yes it can :)
Can also using for playing 3D bluray disc by normal bluray player?
Is it possible to connect multiple goggles to the same camera?
Could you comment about image quality as compared to oculus rift or HTC Vive? Those are what I'm familiar with.
Can i watch youtube on it and is it compatible with iPhone for airplay or VR games?
Is the image quality crisp when you're looking through the goggles?
This review makes me actually want to buy a Mavic, but I guess I'll wait for v2 of these goggles, I mean no rush for me.
Excellent review!!!
Too bad they're not compatible with The Spark! Bummer! What WERE they thinking?
Can it be used with the smaller drones for FPV racing?
When flying the Mavic and using the DJI goggles, is there still a video transmission to the phone that is joined with the remote controller
Very well-made video, dude! keep up the good work ;-)
I'm a new member... Done, subscribed. Good stuff, I like it. Cool
I have a Phantom 4 pro, is this compatible? I understand hmdi cables are needed, but is there any way I could get one person controlling the drone, while another watches through the goggles? Also, could you have the Dji go app open on a tablet while also using these, so you have 2 live feeds?
