This sport man… People who do not play tennis competitively, do not understand how hard this sport is and the dedication and sacrifices you have to make to compete in tennis.
I’ve asked my 12 year old to watch this video & enjoy a great match. The tactical & emotional insight you describe is invaluable to any young player looking to improve & understand their own game. You & Karue Sell are providing some great content thank you.
I think it’s a great idea, I know I lost but I still think these matches are worth putting on the channel as they help players of any level learn. As well as to entertain and get people involved in my journey i do want to help players improve. Thank you 🙏
So true. It is ridiculous why some people feel the need to tell such a high level player what to do. I did play at a high level (not quite Sean’s) and I would never think to give him advice on his channel unless I was specifically asked for it.
I think that might be a little unfair to say. By posting the video on social media, it is thus open to commentary. And I think that people are merely making observations, similar to how they would when watching elite top 10 players play. I think it's human nature. Of course, Sean can freely choose to accept or discard any comment said. And who knows, in that rare instance, someone might offer something that Sean didn't think of or realize.......which might prove helpful. I know it's a different sport, but I've literally heard NBA players admit to adjusting their games based on feedback from fans. So, anything is possible.
@@andreoxley9136 While I do agree that posting content you are open to positive and negative responses. That is part of the deal. However, that may not mean Sean or any other high level UA-camr (Katue Sell, Dane Sweeney etc…) want to hear unsolicited tennis tips and tactics from random people in the comments who more than likely suck at the sport. They are posting to bring people along the journey of a pro tennis player (or aspiring pro). I won’t speak for them, but I know I wouldn’t pay any attention to the these things if I was in their shoes. I just don’t understand the thinking of people who post this advice. As I said in another comment, I am a high level player (not professional) and would never even think about offering advice to him or any other content provider in the comment section. Who am I to give him advice on his tennis? But I guess there are those out there who just feel the need to impose their opinions whether they are qualified or not. With respect, just my two cents.
I only read pretty constructive comments to be fair here. Seems like the feel is that Sean has more talent than his results indicate and people want him to do better cause he deserves it. My feel at least. Hope you have a great off seaon and play a lot and have your best year next year. As regards to pre-season fitness have a look at what Karue did last year, it seemed to have worked well for him.
Some really fantastic points! That guy is a wall with precision and depth. Your backhand looked great. I'm really surprised about your new racket choice. I can't wait to hear more as I am trying to make a similar switch. This was fun to watch with great commentary and insights.
Great hitting and playing, Sean! You can definitely hang with these guys at this level. As I was watching, I realized how solid Charlie is at the baseline, however, I was thinking, maybe bringing him to the net a bit or moving him up and back a bit instead of side to side all the time would be a good play. Also throwing in some serve and volleys and getting to the net when you can. He seems so good from the baseline and hits quality...ALL THE TIME! You started to do that near the end of the 2nd and it was working. Good luck with training.
Been watching for a few weeks now. Your single back hand is top notch mate! Will have to reach out to you in the New Year and get you over to the Midlands for some filming at our Tennis Academy and some of our tennis assets across the Borough! Have a good Xmas and good luck in the New Year.
Good match mate you strike the ball unbelievably well, debatably better than your opponent here! Your fitness and movement really let you down in this match as you said, hopefully you can build on this match
Sean I think you are correct that if you were playing at this level every week you would be able to compete. From a psychology performance perspective as long as you have the skills required to compete at that level then you should be able. That's the question you have to ask yourself. But from what I see you have. Playing or competing at a high level brings a new mindset and the brain after a while becomes comfortable playing at the higher speeds and higher shot skill levels. Your on tbe right track and your motivation and desire is top class. 👌
A really decent level. Broom is a top player. I wonder whether you could work the footwork a bit harder to hit more inside out forehands? You looked your most comfortable when doing this. Just a thought.
The real problem with tennis on videos is that you don’t really get the sensation of speed. It looked quick on the video, I do appreciate how fast that ball is travelling in real time.
From watching you countless times it’s clear to see that some of your best tennis is played whilst the opponents are closer to the net, your passing shots are brilliant. With players who are higher than you who can hang with your baseline shots maybe ask them that question of coming into the net and catching them off guard. I’m by no means a professional tennis player but you don’t have to be sometimes to see the obvious
The UK needs a place where top players can play each other regularly to get consistent high level matches under their belt before going into tournaments. Something like the US college system. What happened to the Uk pro league that sounded promising?!
Despite your poor court movement, you lost not because he was better than you, you lost because you made too many unforced errors. Cut out unforced errors and you may have a chance to marry Ella.
You played at a very high level here but you could have beaten him if you took the ball a little earlier in general. The gap from bounce to hit was too long and practice paced. You don’t need to muscle it with these guys just choose the right balls to hit with half volley rhythm.
You played some good tennis at times mate. I feel that you will play your best tennis if you play very aggressive, high percentage tennis like Federer. You are a powerfull player so you need to use that to your advantage. I dont see much value in trying to just grind out point after point although I know that you must do this at times especially if your game's off. But your opponent was a beast and a world class player so absolutely no shame losing to him. Keep battling mate as strong tennis lies ahead for you and oh, keep chugging on the coffee mate🤣🤣👊☕️☕️☕️
That’s the goal, it can be difficult against high level players to get the chance to move forwards, they’re good at making it tough for you to move up the court
just too many mistakes aye, I feel like you didnt have anything thatvreally hurt him, he was just too consistent. maybe could of try to play more heavy spin. I dunno, guy was a beast
If u would edit this video in a certain way it could seem as if u would have beaten him easy. Its so tough to combine talent with grit. To stop dreaming and start playing just like this guy does. He doesnt seem talented at all it seems. Which ofcourse isnt true, but his grit is nr 1. Not his talent. And that on its own is actually a talent above talent. For me it is at least.
U need to work hard on ur endurance, fitness ,foot work , sprinting ans all physicality component , ur foot work so slow , also u have teach urself to be closer to the baseline ,u're always so far behind and both ur backhand ans ur forehand need to improve a lot and ur serve also , u really need a bro a lot a lot of hardwork and the key always is the physicality
It’s impossible to win matches like this. Good technique, but no A+ shots. So many errors, terrible movement, no counter punch abilities, no inner fire. I’m sorry but like this the outcome won’t be good
He’s playing a top 250 pro such a ridiculous comment, Sean definitely hangs with Broom. I think Sean hits a better shot both sides and serve, brooms just fitter and has better movement at the moment, but Sean can absolutely get there

Well played mate, plenty of people in the comments giving ‘advice’ who probably have never hit a tennis ball. Good job 👊🏻

Thank you mate 🙏I’ll just keep doing my best and see what happens

Thanks for sharing your experiences at this pro level.
Wow, that guy's depth is just relentless.
Well played Sean. Tough loss, but that's part of the journey.
When are you next training at the centre?
Would be great to see you train in person 👊
Great level and enjoyed watching it, curious looking back do you think there was potential to use the drop shot a bit?
Great match and great level
Well played Sean, looking better these past matches 👌
Good match mate you strike the ball unbelievably well, debatably better than your opponent here! Your fitness and movement really let you down in this match as you said, hopefully you can build on this match
Would love to see you play a match with the RF01 Pro!
Watched at Wimbledon play dubs with Arthur ferry, great player

Do you load both feet on your serve of try to load the back foot?
More from both tbh, slightly more from my left foot

We had it with the UK Pro league! It then got cancelled!
I think it got pulled due to lack of investment from its sponsors. I liked watching it on BT Sport back in the day.

It’s a good point, it’s a balance of trying to take it early but not getting caught out of position

True and easier said that done with top 250 weight on ball
Cool !

wondering why you didn't try to mix it up more, drop shot and trying to finish more points at the net, obviously this guy is so sold at the back
You’re standing far from the baseline, you cant hurt him from there…try to move closer when you can
That’s the goal, it can be difficult against high level players to get the chance to move forwards, they’re good at making it tough for you to move up the court

I think that's a bit tough. Sean was handily beat but tennis is a learning game and there was a lot to take from this.

At this level, do guys chat at all after the match? Share feedback to help each other get better?
If we know each other well sometimes we do yes, I like to speak to players watching or coaches etc also
