    Create a vaseless centerpiece using an Oasis Brick Tray and a 1/2 brick of foam.
    Pro Tips:
    ~ Cut brick in half to reduce the amount of product/flowers that you need to use
    ~ Cut the ends shorter so the tray can have excess water to keep the foam hydrated. **Remember, hydrangeas don't love foam without extra water!
    ~ Green out first, then backfill with blooms
    ~ Use Salal and Leather Leaf to get good coverage
    In this video I used: 1/4 salal, 1/4 leather leaf, 1/2 bunch of Italian Ruscus, few Israeli Ruscus stems, 5 Quicksand Roses, 5 Red Heart roses, 5 burgundy carnations, few thistle and 1/2 bunch of brown lisianthus flower (linked below)

      You can easily make it in advance and tip the water out before transporting it. When you arrive at your venue, just refill the tray! Be sure to use a piece of waterproof floral tape to secure the foam to the tray.

    Its me again. How would Hydrangeas look in this. I'm thinking 2 white hydrangeas, 1 bunch burgundy ranunculus, 1 bunch burgundy spray roses, and 2 bunch blush spray carnations with all the greenery you mentioned.
    Would you put the hydrangeas flat on top and the rest flowers all around them and in between? Please advise. Your videos and your suggestions have helped me so much. I cant thank you enough. ❤🤗

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  2 роки тому

      Howdy! Thank you for your question and kind comment! Ok, so hydrangeas don't love foam that is not submerged in water. However, that doesn't mean you CAN'T, you will just need to have special care. Here are my hydrangea tips in a foam tray:
      - Place them on the day of the event, and after you rewet the foam with your kitchen sink sprayer. If you are building the day before, then go ahead and build them WITH the hydrangea and when you're done pull them out and pop them in a vase of water, and replace them the following day.
      - Cut and dip them in Alum before pushing the stem into the foam. Alum is basically potassium sulfate that extends the life of food but works great with Hydrangea. It's found in the spice section of the grocery store
      - Spray the whole thing down with Crowning Glory or Hawaiian mist.

    Thank you for beautiful demonstration. Do you worry about the young buds from Lisianthus dropping or wilting?

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  11 місяців тому +1

      Lisianthus can have fragile stems, so I typically worry more about them snapping in transit that wilting. The foliage can wilt more easily than the buds themselves, which tend to hold up pretty well! To help keep flowers fresh check the water levels in your face, keep them away from bright sunny windows and in a cool room and spray blooms with Crowning Glory Floral Spray to keep them from fading too quickly!

    Hi,
    I'm planning a DIY yourself flower arrangements due to be me getting married in a public garden and having my reception so I felt silly having artificial table runners. Your tutorial has been the easiest to follow but I might have a silly question how do you pick the finished product and transport it

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  2 роки тому

      Hello Cathrine, so glad my videos help you! So when transporting it, I just position them tightly in the back of my hatchback. If it's a vase full of water I dump most out and refill when I get to the venue.
      What do you mean by 'how do I pick the finished product'? I wanna make sure I give you the right answer! XOXOX

      @@cathrinechitewe4342 Ah, that's no biggy biggy! The bottom of the tray is ridged, but you ALWAYS want to tape in your mechanics or foam with green waterproof floral tape so the foam doesn't jump ship. Do this with every centerpiece and urn. The times I've skipped this step as only broken my heart, as the wind can grab the top-heavy arrangement and send it hurdling to the ground. LOL

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  4 роки тому +1

      I used a double brick tray by OASIS! I'd recommend maybe getting a triple brick tray and spacing them out. You don't have to use tape, but tape would make it more secure. Buy waterproof green floral tape, it's better than the clear! Here's a link I found to get a pack of them direclty: oasisfloralproducts.com/occasions/event-products/basic-plastics-event/oasis-single-brick-tray-black/?attribute_pa_size=double&attribute_unit=Pack

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  4 роки тому +1

      @@talyhaye1619 I think so, here are the dimensions: 26-1/2 inches x 4-1/2 inches x 3/4 inch
      You can build it larger not cutting the stems so short on the ends.

    • @FlowerMoxie
      @FlowerMoxie  Рік тому +1

      Definitely make sure to tape your mechanics to the vase! This will ensure that the mechanics don't separate from the tray! You could use any small weight placed at points along the inside of the tray, your flowers will cover the mechanics so no one will notice! I would recommend river stones or even fishing weights.

    Is there a reason you cut the stems of an already small piece of greenery? I noticed that quite a bit

    • @pauliehoff
      @pauliehoff 2 роки тому

      One reason is if the piece has been out of water for a while, the end dries up and seals and water won't get sucked up, so a new cut and then placed in the wet foam allows for the piece to drink better.
