Oh, cool! I heard about the Crown Land but I’ve never actually seen the other side before. I hope the Province takes initiative to protect the land where the Campers are. It’s such a gem. It’d be a shame for it to get ruined. 😞
Most of the accessible areas near Nordegg are a gong show now because of random campers. Most are respectful, but it only takes a few bad ones to really ruin a nice place. The government needs to do more regulation in order to protect the environment.
I'd camp there for a night if I had to but not a nice wilderness spot that's for sure. Wonder where people are dumping their toilets? And getting their water?
There is a sani dump in Nordegg the hotel operates. $5 recommend donation. (this was 2021, hope people were respectful & kept it open). Next option to the west is in the park at Waterfowl Lakes. Wilcox has a sani dump too). David Thompson Campground has one for registered users they say.
Loved going out there years ago. Unfortunately, the citidiots have discovered the area and ruined it. The amount of garbage left behind is disgusting. Blasting music until 6am, setting off fireworks at all hours, cutting down trees just burn a few branches, broken glass, feces, abandoned furniture, people stealing from others, the list goes on. It used to be such nice quiet respectful place.
I’m just discovering this area now, so I’ll be back but knowing this will change my options and places to camp for sure. All I can do is shed light on the issue...
@@EricTremblayAdventures The place was pristine up until 10 years ago. Then it gradually got busier and about 5 years ago it went from my go to place to no longer enjoying the area at all. Last year was the year that broke the camels back for me. I've never experienced such ignorance in my life. They've been wanting to develop that area for a long time. I'm afraid that they're going to pull the "this area needs to be protected" card to allow developers take control of the area. Still plenty of not so known gems in Alberta, but they're disappearing fast.
That’s the first thing that came to mind when I witnessed this. Straight up trash blasting dogshit pop country to the wee hours. Don’t own a fun but I’d bring a double barrel having to endure that. They be asking why is so quiet all of a sudden? Why are there so many body’s in the water at daylight? Oh those were the dogshit pop country fans
We spent the week up to Thanksgiving day camped just south of Ram Falls (PRAs closed in September). I highly suggest checking out the sites along 734 and try pulling a trailer up from Stettler through Corkscrew Mountain. Harry as all get-out but gorgeous nonetheless. :) I suggest watching those voice to music transitions. Volume jumps were pretty high. Well done.
Thanks for the incite, I usually don’t slow roll all the volumes, probably should. I have an off road video of me driving that entire road from Ram Falls to Nordegg. It’s a decent place to camp but we don’t camp with wheels, so we have no reason to compete with stops with “camping” on wheels!

The county is developing the area and fixing up a lot of common places people camp now with toilets & waste management.
Awesome video
You just showed me my next campsite. LOL. Never headed in that direction when going to Abraham Lake

Which accessible areas near Nordegg?

There is no place to dump or get water at the lake, closest place would be rocky mountain house.

How can we find this place?
Search for Abraham Lake on Google Maps. This is the east side reservoir dam.
@@EricTremblayAdventures Thank you for the info :)
