Thanks for this fun video! From where you were parked and from where you descended to looks like the Hoo-Doo Trail. And yes there is a cave up there with a chimney chute. Lots of bat or some kind of animal scat in there on the high walls along with evidence of previous spelunking. I've been up there a couple of times, once on my own like you. I took the easy route....just saying. Love your sense of adventure and owning up to your faux pas and showing a sense of humour about all of it. This looks like something I would've tried when I was younger. It's not the wrong route! It was your route!. I look at it for what it is. A good day to be out on a scramble! I did notice you weren't wearing gloves or gators around your legs. Glad you found that tick before it became embedded.
This is like the cautionary tale. Of route finding through avalanche terrain and tick habitat. Glad you made it out. Looking at you Being in waist deep, isothermic snow in a terrain trap for avalanches was scary to watch. An avalanche awareness course would help if you have not done one yet.
Just watched your video. Just wondering how you made out with the ticks that you had on you? Abraham has been my getaway since 1980 and I know a few people that got lyme from that area including myself??
Hi Mitchum. There is a search party today on this mountain. Good video, I've forwarded it hopefully will reach them in time. Unfortunately I myself can't be joining them today
If you live in red Deer I could join you next hike. Really nice views, I'm going there tomorrow for third time but I haven't try to hike, I'm tempted after watching your video. 😎
This video is amazing! Thanks for risking your life to show us this mountain.
