His greatest song that he performed I think we have all lived this before sometimes no light at the end of the tunnel this man was a powerfully great singer god bless you joe diffie.
Over 5 months have passed and it is if a close family member has passed away, Man Joe Diffie was the Best and I'm so angry I didn't seek out more of his shows, so many of songs and even his personal life ran parallel with mine, I hope some day I can meet with a family member or close friend and learn more about this talented and personable artist,, I'm wear in out his bluegrass CD...... Love ya JOE.....
Yeah this song here and his song called home that's his best to songs that's a big big loss for country music that he's gone I can't believe he's gone he was my favorite singer back in the '70s my wife and I was going through a divorce back in 77 or 78 I think that's when this song here came out and we used to hear that all the time would be going places and we used to hear that song he's singing now and she would almost tear up in tears cuz we was getting ready to go start going through a divorce
Thank you for music like this! I can't tell you how refreshing it is to listen to REAL country Music again!! This is the way Country is supposed to be!
I got to see him at Isle of Capri Casino in Lula Mississippi, I've heard all the greats in my lifetime but Joe had the best show / Band I've ever heard . Tight as rain and not loud . Loud enough to hear and OMG so good. Memories of one of the greatest talents that died way too early . God truly does have the next in Heaven .
What a voice. I always liked his sound reminded me alot of Vern Gosdin. They just don't make real country like this anymore. This pop crap they have nowadays makes me want to vomit. You will be missed Joe
I CANNOT believe Joe is GONE 😔 and from this Damn COVID-19 Coronavirus, Dear God how Sad. Thank You for your Beautiful voice and your Music that will Live on. Rest in Peace, Joe Diffie you will be sorely Missed 🌹
Joe was one of the most underrated country singers ever! He had a voice that no other country singer had! I saw him perform in Las Vegas once and i literally had chills the entire concert!
I just wish this was a horrible nightmare, rest easy Joe Diffie and thanks for the wonderful music, on a personal note I use to play this song over and over absolutely love it!
Ive been binge listening to Diffie since he passed away.Cant get enough of him.Hadnt listened to him in years.Forgot just how talented he really was.Id go as far as saying he was actually very underrated in prime.Suberb talent!RIP Mr.Diffie.
Welcome to the club. My wife & I got engaged the same time Joe died. He Aaron Tippin and Sammy Kershaw did a free concert at a car lot here in SW Florida where I live. I didn’t win $10,000 but seeing those guys for free was awesome.
So underrated. He once said in an interview he wished he hadn't chose so many light harted fun songs. I love those songs but I get it. The greatest country vocalists I've ever heard.
Yeah, it's kinda sad that he's more remembered today for his novelty songs than his ballads. I mean, some of those songs are still fun to listen to, but it was his more serious songs like this that really showed off his vocal skills and were some of his best, imo.
My biggest regret in life is not seeing him live when he was literally 200 metres away on a separate stage at Stagecoach in Indio… not even a year later he was taken from us :(
I saw Joe when Pick up Man was out at the Capital Music Hall in Wheeling West Virginia I was able to get the drummers autograph and picture taken after the show he came out in the front lobby. Years later seen him again at the West Virginia Interstate Fair in Mineral Wells Wv. I play the drums myself been playing for 33 years just play on the weekends not for a living. You hear the Steel Guitar all the way thru this song to me that and the Fiddle makes country music for what it should be that sound the sound of your heart feeling what your going thru. Another favorite song I love from Joe is When Ships Don't Come In. To me the best line in that song is WE BITCH ABOUT A DOLLAR WHEN OTHERS DON'T HAVE A DIME!! Joe Diffie will never be forgotten from me and all the True Country Music Lovers from this great time in Country Music. RIP Joe and God Bless his Family
I love watching videos like this because it truly represents a time in which Country Music was iconic. It also reminds of just how far we have fallen. I do want to sound like a "hater" because I am really a fan of music and have been since as far back as I can remember. It seems like smoke machines, tight jeans, ball caps, pop sounding tunes, drum tracks, and something called country rap have taken over the radio. There are very few real artists in country music as a whole right now. Thank God for folks like Jamie Johnson, Zach Brown, Brad Paisley, and Chris Stapleton. It is heart breaking to see classic country and singers become a thing of the past. Thank you so much for posting this video! Joe is one of the very best!
There's something wrong Lord, I'm feeling it too That runs through my heart Like a torch cuts through steel You haven't said a word Are you feeling it too? Is it cold in here Or is it just you? Did I leave the door wide open And let the chill just kill that old desire? Should I put my arms around you Or put another log on the fire? Is it my imagination Or did the temperature just drop A notch or two? Is it cold in here Or is it just you? There's no warmth at all When I try to hold you near You stare into space As if I wasn't here Did our love just die Or is it just about to? Is it cold in here Or is it just you? Did I leave the door wide open And let the chill just kill that old desire? Should I put my arms around you Or put another log on the fire? Is it my imagination Or did the temperature just drop A notch or two? Is it cold in here Or is it just you?
I'm so sorry that he's gone! His voice was so smooth and rich. Joe you will be missed but you are singing with the angels now and I will see you there! :)
I had the great pleasure of meeting Joe in the early 90's and being backstage for one of his concerts here in town and it remains one of the greatest memories of my life. He was so cordial and friendly and we enjoyed some great laughs together during that brief time. I'm still stunned he's gone.
I'm glad you met him. Joe was one of my bandmates from church in Oklahoma. His first Christian band was called Higher Purpose. They made an album. I have a box of the LP's to this day.
I am go grateful that I was able to see Joe in concert 3 times!! I live in a small mid-western town (Sawyer, MI) at least 2 hrs away from any large concert venues. In my opinion Joe was the "George Jones" of my generation. I'm 51 and grew up on Marty Robbins, Conway, Merle, Eddy, Gene Watson to name a few...thanks to my Mom's love of country music. Over the past 20 yrs, I have only heard a few voices that have the range and emotion that Joe has, in my opinion. Wade Hayes, Trace A., Joe Nichols, Josh Turner and most recently Jamey Johnson!! That's not to say that there are not good artists of today, but there are only a few who's voice will be remembered 50 yrs from now, like the generation before. I always say with a "voice" like that, they could sing me the phone book and still give me goosebumps.
my heart is so lost with the loss of this amazing man , the music ,the songs are something we all should love and sing ,, i'm bob in australia ,cant realy come to tearmes with what happened , we are all trying to escape this shit
This is true country music. Joe Diffie was one of the best.
It’s just so sad that we lost 2 legends within 5 years. Mr Joe Diffie and Mr Toby Keith. We are going to miss both of them so much.

What a voice. I always liked his sound reminded me alot of Vern Gosdin. They just don't make real country like this anymore. This pop crap they have nowadays makes me want to vomit.
You will be missed Joe
Liberty or Death you hit the nail on the head with Vern likeness! Two of my favorites, both were very underrated.
I COMPLETELY AGREE!! PURE COUNTRY GOLD! ❤️ 💙
One of the greatest voices in Country Music! So mad at myself for not paying more attention to this INCREDIBLE artist.
Yes sir that's good ole country!!! Like it should be!!!
Loved his voice RIP Joe

Yes they did. I always tuned in for the music, hunting, and fishing programs when i was kid
CERTAINLY ONE OF THE BEST, SO SORRY HE[S GONE....ADAM SMITH ONTARIO, CANADA..
So underrated. He once said in an interview he wished he hadn't chose so many light harted fun songs. I love those songs but I get it. The greatest country vocalists I've ever heard.

Joe Diffie is amazing. His vocals are the best.
I kind of doubt it was even his choice. The big money Nashville machine was likely telling him what to do, and it sold them a ton of records.
RIP Joe Diffy!! 🙏 PURE COUNTRY GOLD 💛 ❤️ HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL 😍
R.I.P. JOE DIFFIE. 😥 BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYE'S AND A BEAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE. GONE TOO SOON. ❤ 👼 ✝ ⛪ 📿 👼

Yeah, he was in the last generation of good country singers before the plastic hat cowboys got in.
I wonder what most of today's stars think when they read these posts about how people feel about today's new music?
@@scottr664 they probably don’t give a chit. It’s all about fake and money.
There's something wrong
Lord, I'm feeling it too
That runs through my heart
Like a torch cuts through steel
You haven't said a word
Are you feeling it too?
Is it cold in here
Or is it just you?

Should I put my arms around you

There's no warmth at all
When I try to hold you near
You stare into space
As if I wasn't here
Did our love just die
Or is it just about to?
Is it cold in here
Or is it just you?
Did I leave the door wide open
And let the chill just kill that old desire?
Should I put my arms around you
Or put another log on the fire?
Is it my imagination
Or did the temperature just drop

Great voice and song.
The music of our youth is "always iconic"! Each generation it changes so it can be "singularly iconic" for each "new" generation of followers!
Country died when the steel guitar left songs.
Fiddle too!!! This guy was awesome. I put him up there with Haggard, Owens, Jones, and etc. Sucks!
@@stevejames2234 One that has those two instruments and more...the one carrying the TRUE TORCH of country music. Noneother than Mr. Brad Paisley!!!
I agree 110%.
Jon Pardi has a steel guitar and a fiddle in every song he puts out.
