Yeah I was about in 8 grade when Joe had the song on the radio. I listen to the radio until they play the song then I can record it on to my surround sound cassette player. I remember my school friends used to laugh at me because I listen to country. But I didn't care I listen to what I like. Today I'm all grown up now 47 years old and those childhood friends I had are all forgotten now. But Joe music is still around and I still listen to it but I have it Now on CD And 45 records from my jukebox. James From the Great Lakes of Michigan

What a classic! Another one of the best songs of 1992, imo. I remember watching this video with my dad when it was brand new. :) It was a truly great time in country music when straight ahead traditional country ballads like this were popular and mainstream.
Great comment. You’re right, when this level of talent was given mainstream exposure it was a beautiful time in country music history. Diffie doesn’t get enough credit for his early hits like this one.
@@Erix7810 Thank you! The early 90's is still one of my favorite periods in country music because there just seemed to be an endless well of talent and great songs during that time, not to mention the music actually sounded country! I also agree that Diffie doesn't get enough credit for his earlier music. Songs like this one, "If You Want Me To," "Home," "If The Devil Danced.." "New Way To Light Up An Old Flame," and "In My Own Backyard," are some of my most favorites of his.
The first time I heard this song, it gave me chills. Still my favorite Joe Diffie song. He definitely had a true country music voice. Prayers for his family and fans! 🙏🏻
I grew up listening to Joe. He was my idol in the 90s. I wanted to be him. I even had the mullet. He signed my guitar a couple years before he passed, I think God for that everyday. Also his music and country of that decade is what developed my love for pedal steel. I finally purchased one a few years back. That pure country sound! Joe will always be a true legend.

He could sing a sad one and make you feel like he knew the pain(Is it cold, Ships that Don'tCome In) and he could sing a funny one(Prop me up beside the jukebox...) and make you smile, and he was country personified with a great vocal range to go with it.

Joe should be in the Country Music Hall Of Fame. What a Great Talent.
True facts!!
Yes he should and probably will be. This song reminds my of the old 70s country
Joe helped shaped what country music should still be.
Sadly one of Country's most underrated artists. His voice, the songs he sang, they were real, true Country.
Absolutely agree 👍
That's because he would not kiss Nashville's butt but he did not need them
So beautiful with songs and voice Joe was a very gifted artist I love all songs
One of the best to ever approach a mic!
