- What can I say, this was an amazing hunt and opportunity to see a Beautiful place I have never been to here in GA!!! The people I met here were awesome and the hunting was spectacular to try and describe it the best I can. Ossabaw is a wonderful place and I am sooo looking forward to going back again!!

Love Coastal Georgia and the looks of that island with all those Spanish Moss covered Live Oaks is beautiful and it’s a target rich environment to boot ! I don’t think I have ever gone on an out of state hunt where I didn’t pack my truck with twice as much gear as I actually needed except for my trip to Anticosti Island where we flew in on an old converted cargo plane (1953 Convair). and were limited to 75 ponds of gear max.

@@bucktalesoutdoors7566 That sounds so fun Don! I haven't done much out of state hunting yet, but what I have we have drove so out only limitation was what we could put in the truck bed with us. Next time I know more about what I will need for this trip and I'll just pack what I need. The camp ground there is great too, and really nice set up!!

Thanks brother!! It was sooo fun and the meat is awesome!! It’s a Quota hunt that anyone can do is what’s so cool about it. All you have to do is go and apply on the DNR’s quota hunt scite, and it is like a lottery system. You might not get it the first year, but you will get a point for the next year and you should get it then. Come on out man, I have saved up enough points that I’m going again this year!!

Where or how did you apply for this hunt? I don’t see a quota hunt just for hogs. All i see are quota hunts for deer on Ossabaw Island.
This hunt was the muzzle loader deer hunt. When you are there you can hunt both deer and hogs on any deer hunt. I just wanted to get hogs, so that is what I focused on and it was a blast. They have some just hog quota hunts for rifle, but they are later on in the year, like in Jan or Feb. Put in for them, I think the quota hunts will open in June. @@daviddostal9789 This was the first one I ever saw I wanted to put in for and I used 2 of my priority points to get it. I think the key is to wager points. If you get it it’s really worth it to go. We had a blast and are hoping to get drawn for this year. I wagered 2 more points, so fingers crossed! Thanks for stopping by brother!!
