I disagree that it's geared toward kids. The initial pirate attack, the brothel, and Jod executing Brutus while restrained are enough to suggest otherwise. It's a normal Star Wars story primarily told from the _perspective_ of the four kids.
If Lucas put a series like this out in 1986 on TV, taking place after Jedi like it does, fans would have loved this. This is exactly what he would have wanted for the franchise. It doesn’t have anything to do with the Skywalksr saga, yet it totally sits in the Star Wars universe.
2:10 Is it a lie? Imagine growing up your entire life not knowing strife, famine or wars. Now imagine that going on for generations, thousands of years--that's At Attin. Things have been nothing short of good for the people here. Everyone has everything they could ever need, everyone is living the goodlife! For Generations, the Supervisor and the barrier has kept life the way it is. If you are content with life, and your family is happy, why doubt it? That's Windel. And the life they lived wasn't a lie, that's how life has been for the people of At Attin. For them the problems of the galaxy is like the problems of a different country you have no connection with--there problem, not yours. 3:57 Stephen Fry giving us his best Palpatine impression, right here. I think Disney missed the opportunity to do so much more with him. 4:30 Remember, At Attin is a world from before the Republic, Anakin's time, and they have been living in a bubble for thousands of years. It makes sense that their technology would be on par with, but not better than anything we've be introduced to currently in Star Wars. How did the Naboo defeat the droid army? They took out the control ship. Jod destroyed the Supervisor, At Attin's control ship, shutting down everything it maintained. Oops! 8:48 And everything did for a very, very long time. It sounds like Fara knew, to some degree, how life offworld. 8:58 Jod was one of them--he looked out for them, until he decided he wanted it all for himself. Jod aside, there was that brothel hostes, Khy'mm, Hanna, Pokkit, Catholips, and SM-33. 9:34 This speeder chase is so much better than what we got in the Book of Boba Fett! 13:08 This likely explains why Jod took a liking to Wim. Aside from the part about being hungry, Jod dreamed of heroes coming to save him. One day a hero did come, but soon after, Inquisitors snatched her from him, leaving him to starve and fend from himself. Just about everyone else he met after his Jedi Master must have been the worst, explaining why he lost hope for the galaxy he called "rotten" three episodes ago. Jod is a bad guy, but he's not a BAD GUY! He'll do only what he has to to survive--he doesn't want to kill anyone, but he will if he has to; hence, what happened last episode with Brutus--he wasn't going to give Brutus a second chance to betray him. 14:11 Yup! dude took defeat like Thanos. He knew when he had lost, and he accepted it. If we get a second season, there's room for some growth here, and a redemption arc. For the first time in a long time, Jod is going to witness the "good guys" saving the day and sticking around to make sure things continue moving smoothly for the foreseeable future--all the things he was robbed of in his youth ='( 15:11 Yup, we saw what they could actually do for the first time in Rebels when Hera took the first one out for a test run. They have something like a Death Star laser, not as powerful, of course, but it'll wreck a ship, as we just saw, lol. 16:56 Why this ship? We've seen Leia on it twice before, ANH and Rogue One. Leia has to be on that ship again, right? 17:17 The Republic. Why wouldn't they continue giving that money to the New Republic? They grew up believing that their work was essential to sustaining the Old Republic. The Old Republic, Republic, Empire, and New Republic are all the same thing run by different management. This was a very fun series. I hope this isn't the last we see of it. I hope Disney has learned its lesson and stops listening to Twitter and other loud pockets of toxic discussions on line. True Star Wars fans have liked most of everything that has come out. Some things are lodded higher than others, sure, but I don't recall everyone hating something as much as "Star Wars Fans" claimed on social media. Nothings perfect, but nothing is horrible either.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing, lol. I wonder if The New Republic was just waiting outside the barrier hoping it would come down or if they were actively trying to take it down themselves. I like to think if push came to shove, Jod would not have actually killed Fern or Wim's father with that lightsaber as he was threatening to. I am a bit surprised there was no post-credit scene at least showing what happens to the planet now.
I totally agree with you on two points, one the issue with the New Republic was (as so happens after a dictatorship falls) i think the desire to not completely destabilize things meant that they had to rely on the Imperial structure too much. Which makes it easy for people like the First Order because they can point to all the problems with the Republic (most of which they are actively causing) as reasons to return to the Empire. Germany had problems with this after WW2 as many of the old regime still supported it even as they sought positions in the new one. Second, the child actors were amazing totally agree they did fantastic work to make themselves believable and yet not to the point where you are like... OMG shut up... you end up rooting for all of them. Brilliant work by everyone and Jude Law showed just how good he is as an actor again.
18:30 I was gonna say... but then she came through. Yeah the narrative has been pushing internal NR corruption pretty heavy across everything we've seen so far. Not just the ST with their FO sympathizer faction or the Military Industrial Complex subplot there either. We got Senator Xiono seen in both Ahsoka & later in Resistance who is clearly one of those Imperial leaning traitors, the whole plot of Imperial simps integrated in all of the NR as seen in both Mando & Ahsoka with the entire Correlian shipyard being compromised & all of the sleeper agents in the rehabilitation program. There's other examples too like that ST tie-in novel trilogy, I forget the name of it but I think Claudia Grey is the author.
This show was really good. Sucks it didn't do well according to some sources. Finale was good however I feel like it needed to be 10-15 mins longer and should of wrapped up some things at the end vS just ending it the way it did
Don't believe the fake numbers put out by the hate channels. They always do that to desperately justify hating any show that doesn't pander to straight white male trash. Even if they had access to the numbers, comparing them to Network TV rating structures is irrelevant since streaming has very different view data and goals for potential renewal.

15:15 Madison's line was LITERALLY my first thought
So enjoyed your reviews of Skeleton Crew. I have watched all your reviews of all Star Wars content and can’t wait to watch your reaction to Andor 2!!!
I loved this final episode so much. I hope they have a season 2
The show runners have said that they have an idea for season two.
Hopefully Disney lets them do a season two. I think they showed the numbers for how many people were watching it, and they weren't great.

I love how the droid was watching Wim and Wendell’s argument like a tennis match. 😂
wendell was playing dummy parent in a kid's adventure to perfection
Love that Wim found his tribe 😊

The kid who played FERN was in the Firestarter movie with Zac Efron
Happy New Year guys🎉🎉
I do expect multiple seasons with these kids and Jod probably with the announcement coming in April
Funny how power went out all over town, except for the consoles in the Supervisor’s office.
Great show. Happy to see something good after the disaster acolyte was
I believe this is 9 years after ROTJ and around the same time as The Mandalorian season 3.

am I the only one who thinks the supervisor sounds like Palpatine?
Resistance wasn't my favorite show but I think this could be where the funds for the First Order get funnelled from in it.
This show was really good. Sucks it didn't do well according to some sources. Finale was good however I feel like it needed to be 10-15 mins longer and should of wrapped up some things at the end vS just ending it the way it did
It ended the way the movies from the 80s like the Amblin films ended, which is what the showrunners wanted it to be like.
after all the toxic star wars fans took a s--t on the acolyte, they shouldn't be surprised they also turned many people off on star wars in general

Pretty solid finale all things considered
