This is great! Any chance we can have 2 Blur Regions on the same clip? So if I want to have 2 different blured sections on the same video I could use this trick?
Just to be clear though, if you use the option B Blur Region - you can only have one blur effect per clip? If I wanted to blur something out at the end of the clip now I'd have to split the track and apply changes, or add the option a type of blur as the 2nd instance?
I'm going to go into this in more detail in today's live stream (1:00 PM Eastern Time). If you can't make it, you'll be able to watch it on the replay as soon as it's over :-)
Again, thank you for your splendid explanation Rob. I sometimes have a need to blur out several regions in, say, screen recordings that display more than one column or field with information deemed to be sensitive, and then the "Blur region" just doesn't suffice, as I can only have one attached to each track. Or am I wrong? I then have to go back to the blur annotation, add it to the track and add one for each region to be blurred. Believe you me it is a time consuming hazzle to get it all right + it is soooooo boringly square. And then, to make it move with the moving elements on scree ..... there is no other option but to animate frame by frame (which I have gotten used to do) ... unless your or someone in the chat can tell me I am wrong. I am happy to learn.
I will demonstrate how to add multiple blue regions to a screen recording in tomorrow’s live stream… I’ve made a note. If you can’t make it, the video of the stream will be available on my channel afterwards :-)
Fine@@RobtheMaritimer, that is cool. I already know how to do add and animate various blur spots on a gazillion tracks, and ofc the blur region on one track. I was just complaining about the silly way Techsmith let's us do it, creating such tediousness. Furthermore, Techsmith sure ain't listening to me. So I whine to you ;-). That is ... unless you have a surprise solution for us, that is NOT a workaround.
💡💡 Wow! I did NOT know we could slide blur region like that. It potentially eliminates having an extra animation. Thanks for the content RTM!
Great! I'm glad it helped :-)
I was so adding blur the classic way, not anymore, thanks Rob 🤩
Me too!! Sometimes we just get too used to doing things a certain way, all the while a better way might be right under our nose! Glad it helped :-)
Thank you so much! You solved a problem I've had for years with classic blur. Your videos are super.
Thank you! Glad the videos help :-)
Excellent. I must share this.

Hi! How can I find this replay?
Click on “Live” on my channel and then choose the live stream you want to watch… they’re all available there :-)
Danke Rob. Mich interessiert, was ich machen muss damit die Maskierung in einer Videosequenz funktioniert.
Happy to help :-)
This is great. Can we blur two regions simultaneously using the second method?
No I don't believe you can do that yet... you'd have to do some creative work with masking to achieve that. Not very simple..

@@RobtheMaritimer PS ... my reply above is in no way criticism towards you. I was just venting. :-)
In Camtasia 21, blur is showing as a separate object in New Timeline.
Ok that could be... 21 is an old version of Camtasia so there are bound to be differences between 21 and the latest Camtasia 2024.
