The rear sump is superior to front sump as G force on acceleration causes oil to slosh to the rear . I would put a giant accumulator in lube circuit .fluctuating pressure causes oil to dump in to lube circuit . . So do self a favor install a large enough system about a gallon should be adequate . Only saves your investment . I’ve used these systems for years successfully . Don’t have a gallon one use 2 , of the 1/2 gallon systems piggy back .
Just an fyi, you can’t check torque the way you did, some guys try to check break away torque, but that isn’t good either, best way I can tell is to mark the bolt, then loosen it, and retorque to the mark, once a bolt stops turning, it requires much more force to get it moving again, all instructions requiring torque will tell you to achieve your final torque in one smooth motion…
I love it watching you build that CAT engine. And boy do I love seeing Blue Collar. I bought another shirt and hat and plan on buying more before the deadline. I can’t wait to win and come pick that truck up and put it to work. You are doing an awesome job on your videos and content. Love watching your videos and can’t wait to see Business Expense out there pulling. Keep up the good work. Oh I’d let you build an engine for me for sure.
I hope this motor sounds just as mean as the other one when idling. The way the old motor sounded at idle was awesome! I had a smile from ear to ear whenever you were running it. Most of the super big guys in NTPA run Cats and they never sounded like the old motor. I have a neighbor that's about 15 miles from me that has a prostock super semi called Krazy KW and I've never heard it sound like yours.
I can not believe your going to take that brand new engine and put it in the pulling truck. I know how you are and that engine will only last for about 3 or 4 pulls and you'll blow it up.
I think next time you need to lube, everything really really well with oil before you stick the cam in. It’s just a suggestion, but I promise you it makes a difference. I’ve used once you have one time and it is not the same as putting the right oil in. You don’t want any metal to metal contact at all not even in the first start up.
Next time you put a cam in have homeboy with the camera help. Also keep the cam flat and twist it in and out of each bushing to deburr and push the assembly lube all the way around as you go(dont pull it all the way out or push through completely right away)And dont be packing greese into that back bearing. It gets trapped and can fuck with runout. It isnt rocket mortgage. Good luck with 2,000hp 😅
I see when it comes to medium duty and heavy duty road app cat is king, how does the Cummins twin compare ?? 2k horse in a big rig sounds like Uber fun lol
Dang I still can't believe you're getting rid of blue collar, I look forward to seeing that truck in each and every video even if it's just a shot from a distance when you're doing other stuff lol anyway somebody's going to be getting a nice truck but I think you're going to really miss it when it's gone LOL 🤷🏿♂️
No worries, this engine is not going into over the road truck. The whole purpose of it is to take it apart very soon due to failed parts and shitty workmanship.
Hey, Bruce, is there some kind of gasket between the three pieces of that exhaust manifold? I would think that would be a quick place to get an exhaust leak.
Bruce why don’t you tech that boy what you’re doin while you work on stuff. Better yet let him get his hands on some stuff and turn some wrenches, tripods work wonders… I’m guessing lol
Hahah we here at caterpillar are laughing at u. That engine will never make 2000hp lol what you should do is remove all the 15L internals and replace them with all 18L internals it the same block for both engines

Finnish Sisu used Cat C-18 engines about 2003-2006. I had it tuned up to 750-800hp, and since that it was the best running truck i've ever driven. )
To win Blue collar would be a dream. That’s where my grandpa started was an old green freight shaker cab over. I’d definitely put that truck to work.
Should put loctite MR 2000 on those slip joints on the slip joints on the manifold. The c13 calls for it and I'm sure it would help on this too

Yea Bruce great job getting the kitty ready for the pulling truck can't wait to hear it purr . Where is the trailer taxi missing it
I honestly love this engine no matter what happens to it brothers. Great find Bruce and friends
Hi Bruce nice motor for the pulling truck can’t wait to see it done
You and me both!
Well you doing all the steps my dad taught me and I'm only 14 almost 15
YES FINALLY somebody plays with the BIG engines

Orwell of FSC TRUCKING is more popular than your cab over because it's NOT BEING GIVEN AWAY!

Old one had a bad missfire, was running rough

The manifold stud spacers for my cat 5EK we made from stainless steel thick walled tube.
I think they need to expand in a certain way based on usual high operating heat. Make sure studs don’t break over time.
Great Video Bruce👍 I’m looking forward to see that Big Cat make some Big power. Keep up the great work
Chrome won't get you home.... But man you look classy pushing it! Chrome it Bruce!
Bruce have you thought about taking the cummins you have under your shelf and building a drag car like a charger. That would be cool.

Another great video keep up the Amazing work you guys Rock !!!!
We will!
KEEP BLUE COLLAR, PLEASEEEEE
My step pops can tune the ecm for that truck. Where outta cherryvalley ny. Those really turn up with just a few number changes.
Who is it? I need a retune on my c15
I think a video with Tim would be a best seller
6NZ is like the holy grail of CAT engines!
Should be coming to DIDC in GA….
19:10 my soul burned
Mine too
Make granny drive a semi, would make a fun little video ig
James Perry the one that has all them semis on UA-cam you might be interested in your caterpillar part
Next time you put a cam in have homeboy with the camera help. Okay thank you
Giterdun 👌😁
Yes sir cool video 👍
Big by part 🤙
2000 hp Tim Gentry must be building it.
Nah he only builds them 4,000hp motors
That Cat is probably stolen!!!
@@FL.AirBoater You Missed the video when he bought it and went over the paperwork on it i see
Probably
It will probably never get finished the next video will go to the next build or next tear down never to be finished
Good
Awesome. You finally found something you like 🙋♂️👍🐩🇺🇸
Before you get rid of Blue Collar an epic dragrace with all your trucks would be awesome. 😂
Awesome video
Awesome video man keep up the good work! Love watching!!!
Lol you your next truck name is THE BIDNISSS😊
Let’s go🤘🏼💪🏼🇺🇸
You should of stepped up to a C-18 with a marine cam & injectors 1000 Hp right from Cat
POLICR STATION 4 GIRLZ
What are those inserts that you took out of the exhaust side of the cylinder head? Thanks. Just curious
Should be able to thread a long bolt in the end of the came to help guide it through without smashing your fingers if I remember right
CAT 388383 CATERPILLAR TRUCKS BOYZ
Hey Man!!!! Dude!!! check it out!!!, I need to see you start&break in that beast CAT engine Thank You...😎💯✌
God bless granny.
How many people talking about the way you stuck that cam
Yess boyy ❤
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
Keep up the good work Bruce
I see when it comes to medium duty and heavy duty road app cat is king, how does the Cummins twin compare ?? 2k horse in a big rig sounds like Uber fun lol
Theres your next t-shirt the bidoniss😊
There's a Usa Japan, Gen. MacArthur set it up after the war.
I want a C15!!!!
this engine looks just the same as the last one is there any difference like capacity or build
What a dream job 💪
Loosing about 150 hp just by moving those rocker arms up and down :D
Hey
Smashing 😊
USA Is a Japanese island, and yes lots of things were made in USA!
Which btw is pronounced
Uhw Saah.
Caterpillar boyz Truck Uae USA
Watching Bruce “torque” the bolts for the cam gear really gave me a headache😩
Dang I still can't believe you're getting rid of blue collar, I look forward to seeing that truck in each and every video even if it's just a shot from a distance when you're doing other stuff lol anyway somebody's going to be getting a nice truck but I think you're going to really miss it when it's gone LOL 🤷🏿♂️
Молодцы!!!
Or the next truck name 😊
Always nice to hear squeaky in the back ground.
I love Ryan’s little well timed sniggers while Bruce was putting lube on his camshaft😅 bloody classic.
❤
Granny: I used to build these with my eyes closed and naked. That's how I met your grandfather
Usa, Japan
your assembly lube looks like moisturiser lol
Can’t wait to see a video where that kitty cat doing a truck pull and wins and can’t wait to see the Scania do the burnout competition
What the toter you not remodeling? Should just drop motor in in totor. Rebuild totors for pulling
Cheap cause it’s hot 🥵 lucky in pull truck
Will it fit my miata?
I hope one this engine will use Gas will make good smoke!!!!😅
Having a 50 lb camshaft rest with all its weight pushing down on one bearing shell is probably not a good thing..
I wanted to say the same thing but I didn't want to get called something silly by the UA-cam trolls like a armchair mechanic.
No worries, this engine is not going into over the road truck. The whole purpose of it is to take it apart very soon due to failed parts and shitty workmanship.
Thought the same thing.
It’s fine
There ain't no way it can hurt it unless you hit something against it down or sideways u idiots
what happened to your old cummins that you were rebuilding
Made in the USA isn't a selling point for me, it's a run fast sign 🤣
I hope you put the bolts in the injectors lol
That cam was so dry going in oh man 😅
I think people that want to learn how to work on cars & trucks should go work at a junk yard
then go to school. Take care everyone!
keep the clips coming
Your cam is two teeth off. The v on the gear should be straight inline with the ridge that runs across top of the peanut cover
RAVAL JERIC PRISON SHIRT INMATE'S.
Hopefully you didn't leave those steel inserts in the exhaust ports..... They're nothing but a restriction
Same inserts in a 1000 HP marine engine
Good job, but was it granny approved?
Hey, Bruce, is there some kind of gasket between the three pieces of that exhaust manifold? I would think that would be a quick place to get an exhaust leak.
Suprisingly enough a 3 piece or 2 piece manifold dont leak i had the same question when i first started with em but they hold up good
Bruce why don’t you tech that boy what you’re doin while you work on stuff. Better yet let him get his hands on some stuff and turn some wrenches, tripods work wonders… I’m guessing lol
America
Next video: the pull truck is for sale with a brand new engine lol
Full tilt>pdi
It blows me away how horrible the flow seems to be on diesels compared to high performance petrol engines.
Cat power brov
I'm bricked up right now bro
😎👍
Hahah we here at caterpillar are laughing at u. That engine will never make 2000hp lol what you should do is remove all the 15L internals and replace them with all 18L internals it the same block for both engines
Your losing hp with those sleeves. You should use a cummins style gasket
