No matter what, the original Wreck it Ralph will always have a place in my heart.
Do you mean... GOOD WRECK IT RALPH?
Toad TV yeah the first one is better
True that.
Understatement
Mr. Oscar me too. As well as the sequel for me personally.
Strider likes Frozen 2
Schaffrillas thinks it's average
24 Frames of Nick hates Frozen 2
Well, Everyone has different opinions
Edit: why are people STILL liking this comment?
But Nick is still wrong.
Animat and Grace Randolph likes Frozen 2
Chris Stuckmann and Jeremy Jahns say it's average
Doug Walker dislikes Frozen 2
Yeah Frozen 2 really is divisive.
Actually Schafrillas just says it is “a movie that exists”.
@@Jayshiver If you saw his review, he was pretty divisive about Frozen 2.
Honestly the biggest flaw I think about Frozen 2 was that when the original writes their songs around the movie, it feels more like the sequel is written around the songs. The comidic sidekick song, the empowering song, the Let it go rip off, the 80s romance ballad. I mean really!?
I wish they included Kuzco when Vanellope visited the princesses

Kim Jong-un It has 4 o’s. It’s r/woooosh
Disney are too cowardly to admit Kuzco is indeed the greatest Disney princess
What’s your gift to America? Show us already goddangit!
Kuzco would be an Empress would better
I think Judy Hopps is easily one of the best Disney female protagonists, especially since her character isn't made up by those typical Disney clichés, and she has a pretty realistic and relatable personality. Even if Zootopia wasn't a good movie, she would still make it worth a watch.
ZOOTOPIA IS ONE OF THE BEST DISNEY MOVIES
@@notavailable4264 - Zootopia Is for furries!
I think Zootopia is kinda overrated despite my username
Macandbloo11 Judy is my favorite character in the movie! Love her!
What makes her so great is how her dream of being a good cop is constantly challenged throughout the whole movie. Her parents don't like the idea of her being a cop, the bullies tell her she can't be a cop, she is almost proven right by them when she attends to the academy and has to work extra hard here. When she finally is a cop, her chief never gives her the big dangerous cases, Nick (at first) tells her that her dreams won't work out in the end and makes fun of her, and so on. Judy, while it wears her down, always stays true to herself. But then, the thing she's been most afraid of happens to Zootopia, and she blames herself for it, and this finally breaks her. She fought to prove prejudice wrong, and now all of Zootopia is prejudiced against predators. But she manages to come back when Zootopia needs her and get over her guilty feelings. She finally overcomes even this biggest hardship. In the end, she is the cop she always wanted to be, despite all struggles. Not only did she overcome the struggles, but she also learned from them, becoming much wiser and stronger. And that's why she's such an amazing character.
Zootopia came out right before my freshman year at college 💗 And while I did fail, mainly due to anxiety and having all mainstream classes without my emotional support classes, I still haven't given up. That movie gave me hope and I realized that birds don't just fly, they fall down and get up. Now I do online classes one or two at a time, and it is soooo much better for me 💖 🐰
Good idea. I switched to 1 or 2 classes per semester for my psych degree and it really helped at the time

Unpopular opinion: Moana is a far better film than Frozen.
No no, you have a point.
IKR, and Incredibles 2 and Ralph Breaks the Internet!
How is this opinion even slightly unpopular?
everything is better than frozen
@@lexy5430 Nice over-exaggeration.
To be fair, Moana's father actually had a good reason for wanting to keep his daughter from the ocean.
Unlike a lot of Disney movies where the reason is mostly "...Just because".
Buuuuut, I do have to say that I was HIGHLY disappointed that Pua wasn't on the journey. And instead they chose Hei-Hei
I know right, Pua was so much better.
@@NG_Lark He was! I was so disappointed that Pua had almost no screentime at all.
Hei hei is best boy, frick that piggy wasteman
@Charlie's Bitch I know. It is super cliche. I'm just saying that at least he HAS a reason rather than just "You can't do that...just because!".
The "parents don't want their child to explore the world" trope seems to be improvised and justified in Moana.
Fun fact: Dwayne Johnson (voice of Maui) insisted on having his co-star record with him in the studio so that they could bounce off each other.
And I think this was a great idea. Dwayne really made the role work with this girl.
Strider: how can people remember the lyrics to these songs??
*Me: Laughs in knowing every lyric to Into The Unknown*
I also know all the lyrics XD
Thats sad
Let's start a comment chain!

@@arqtpie9197 but I won't
Zootopia is my absolute favorite modern Disney movie too! I love the commentary on ingrained prejudice and how it can divide us. Such a beautiful Christmas treat you have blessed us with, Phantom!
Honestly, he hits notes higher than most of the princesses, except Elsa.
Guys try to give a chance to beastars (dont let the animation scare you its) its basically a darker zootopia
Ralph breaks the internet is a VERY big letdown in my opinion. I can't fully express how utterly disappointed I was with it in words when the first one had left me speechless, the second one COMPLETELY and UTTERLY dismantled the rules of the first movie. It COMPLETELY INVALIDATES everything that happened in the first movie and I absolutely hate it. NOTHING that happened in the first movie matters, everyone has forgotten about what it means to 'go turbo', Turbo's legacy is gone, and no one is concerned about it happening again like they were in the first movie. Vanelope LITERALLY GOES TURBO in this one, she ABANDONS HER GAME FOR ANOTHER and doesn't return to it, but for some reason, that's okay now???? It wasn't okay before, why is it suddenly okay now??????????? Even the players are okay with it now. Granted, she didn't take control of another game, but she still abandoned her own when it was restored specially for her in the first movie.
THANK YOU!! I was thinking the same thing throughout the whole last half of the movie.
Question: If she's a glitch, and glitches can't leave their games, how did Vanelope leave hers?
I think it's the whole "Girl power" thing. When a girl goes bad, it's okay, she doesn't need to take responsibility. Just look at Star vs the forces of evil or (and I hate to say it cause I like this character) Mabel from Gravity Falls.
But yeah, this absolute rule breaking was the biggest flaw of this movie.
@@NG_Lark Remember in the first movie where the game reset at the end? Vanellope wasn't always a glitch, and she got reset back to being a princess when that happened, so now she can come and go as she pleases. No idea why she still has glitch powers though 😂
@@toongrowner1 ...Yes. YES! Completely yes.
Although in Mabel's defence, she in no way meant any harm. She just wanted a little more summer before she started the nightmare that she thought high school was going to be. There wasn't any way she could have known she'd cause an apocalypse.
100% with you on Star though. She turned into a complete Mary Sue. In the finale she LITERALLY COMMITS MASS GENOCIDE ACROSS MULTIPLE DIMENSIONS and everyone acts like her and Marco are the only things that matter.
But this has nothing to do with either Gravity Falls or SVTFOE, so I'll leave it at that. Just needed somewhere to rant 😂
The first time I watched Zootopia, it was pretty difficult to forget a moment or the characters that made it quite a beauty of a modern Disney animated film. And yes, I had "Try Everything" stuck in my head for weeks after that, until I saw Big Hero 6 and got "Immortals" stuck in my head.
Panic! At The Disco wrote a song for Frozen II. That makes Brendon Urie the next Disney princess.

Thanks for all the xmas well wishes :) Hope you're having a pleasant December so far too. Here's hoping for a pleasant 2020.
PhantomStrider, this is a Christmas present we are more than thankful for (outside of the fact that you can’t see anything wrong with Incredibles 2. Seriously, you’re only portraying it as one of the greatest DIsney movies), but one thing I’d love to point out, is that in the end of the video’s title in the brackets, it could be called “Late 2010s Animated” since 2016-2019 are practically the (chronological) years of the completely recent time of the late 2010s.
Merry Christmas Strider.
You know what's coming in 2020? Kingdom Hearts 3: Re:Mind.
You too, Strider. Also my sisters birthday and I are both in December so it’s pretty much a busy month for us and the fact that I’m an Aspie too which I’m glad you’re not afraid to mention from time to time in your vids
Thanks, Strider.
I loved the songs in frozen 2 so much more than 1 because of how much more mature they are. They aren’t as catchy and poppy so at first they don’t seem as memorable, but the more you listen to the soundtrack the more amazing it gets. The lyrics are so powerful and they are so well written. It’s more Broadway than typical Disney but that’s why i love it
LavenousForever I agree with you, but I loved the songs from when I first heard them.
I like the use of "all is found" and the mysterious voice as recurring motifs throughout, and The Next Right Thing is an excellent Eleven O Clock song...
LavenousForever honestly I only remember Into The Unknown thanks to Panic! At The Disco
One thing about Ralph Breaks the Internet that puzzled me was about Venellope leaving Sugar Rush. Especially since the first movie made such a big deal about a character just abandoning their game, so much that it ties into the main villain, and she is the most popular character of Sugar Rush and her disappearance would raise quite concern and probably create a copyright lawsuit between the game companies of Sugar Rush and Slaughter Race for having a character in a game they don't have ownership over.
A potential lawsuit for stealing game assets or the developers patching her out because someone modded the game when mods aren't allowed makes me question how this is supposed to fly.
And yeah. The whole plot of her deciding to abandon her game after coming across Slaughter Race felt pretty selfish and throws out the fact that going Turbo was bad. But her being bored is ok?
Macandbloo11 What you’re doing is the textbook definition of nitpicking. Copyrite lawsuits? Really? You are literally grasping at straws
@@RM-cn8pw Yeah, just completely ignore the part where they also bring up how it ties back to, oh idk, not "going Turbo" like the very first movie established. Combine all that with Ralph and Venellope being ooc for the sequel and it's a bad film successor.

Merry Christmas to the one and only PhantomStrider!
Not gonna lie, Cars 3 is one of my favorites. I grew up with the Cars series and I enjoyed seeing a satisfying conclusion to one of my favorite childhood franchises. The movie was fun and thought-provoking, and I like it when a piece of media makes me think. There was nothing necessarily bad about it, it just wasn't that memorable to people who weren't nostalgic for the franchise like I am.
I really hope zootopia gets a sequel someday. it honestly just deserves it out of all these modern disney movies that don't have sequels yet!
I don't know about a Zootopia sequel. Don't get me wrong, Zootopia was awesome. But sometimes, the first film of a series may came off as so awesome that the sequels feel underwhelming for people because they can't live up to the quality of the first film. I also feel this way about the uocoming Into the Spider-Verse sequel.
Macandbloo11 yeah I know exactly what you mean. With a lot of movie series it always feels like the first movie is great and the rest usually underwhelming but still great. Like action movies for example.
BrendanSpain25 A series on Disney+ would be better than a sequel. But I wouldn’t mind a sequel. I just wanna see these characters again!
Martavis_Bot you’ve got a very good point. I wouldn’t mind that either.
@@Macandbloo11 I agree I love Zootopia but a sequel especially with disney (if they find a good story) I'm happy to have a second one but if they don't find a good story it would feel like a waste cause disney is most probably gonna make it for the money and not the story. And spider verse will become the new Sony money maker and I don't think they will put a lot of effort (like Illumination with DM) as they are releasing two of them with different directors i am skeptical for the future of spider verse
Ralph Breaks the Internet is all fun and games until you remember that Ralph is an adult man(?) trying to force a child to stay with him.
Oh no, that makes it so much worse!

The best part of Christmas: Phantomstrider.
I loved how Incredibles 2 kept going with the plot of superheroes being illegal instead of just dropping it altogether. It really is a good example of sticking to a plot you've written in the previous installment, and giving more depth to it so it comes off as more than we think.
I agree with on Wreck-it Ralph 2, I wasn’t a fan of they did with Ralph’s character near the end of the movie, they made him out to be really possessive and I didn’t enjoy that, however, I’ve seen a few people comparing Wreck-it Ralph 2 to The Emoji Movie, and I think that is ridiculously harsh, Wreck-it Ralph 2 definitely wasn’t Disney at its best but it was no near as bad as The Emoji Movie

Moana was one of my favorites! Oh well, not everyone thinks alike

5 Toy Story 4
6 Finding Dory
The one I disagree with most is Incredibles 2, which is a lame sequel to the first.
It shocks me that Ralph 2 and Frozen 2 are above Coco. I absolutely love Coco, it blows me away everytime I watch it no matter how many times. The story, relationships and animation are beautiful and I love how it treats the culture.
They're not above Coco, they are far behind it.
@@Disneyfan82 Well, they're on this list and Coco is not
WHAT? Coco completely destroys those films.
A video from PhantomStrider, what a great Christmas present!
I am so glad Zootopia took the number one spot. It took nearly 20 years for Disney to make something to dethrone The Hunchback of Notre Dame as my favorite animated Disney movie.
If the live action films were on the list, all of them would be at the bottom.
Jungle book was pretty good .
That’s the acception. But still, Aladdin was fine but didn’t live up to the original, and Lion King and Lady and the Tramp were just awful.
Junglebook was good. Aladdin was pretty good (though jafar was awful), beauty and the beast was poor and junglebook was a passionless void
@@YaBoiBrendo but how could it? There was just no way the new Aladdin could replace the original in anybody's heart or mind.
I thought Christopher Robin was an amazing movie. It would be in my top 6
How did Ralph Breaks the Internet and Cars 3 beat Coco and Toy Story 4.
They didn’t beat them. He already talked about the movies before and what he thinks of them, so he decided not to talk about them again

Ok, I might sound like I am an idiot, but Cars 3 is primarily about the new, younger generation of drivers coming in and some of the history behind the sport of NASCAR, but Cars 3 also shows how the teams are rushing the older drivers out of their rides and putting the new guys in, as seen when all of Lightning’s friends are being replaced by the Next-Gen drivers, and it also goes into how certain people might seem too old for their job, but they aren’t done. Ok, I just needed to get that off my chest.
That's the message I got out of it. And sure, it isn't entirely original but I still liked it fine.
Kristoff had so much more chemistry with Ryder than Anna.

So you've asked me how I'd order it..
Worst 3:
Cars 3
Toy Story 4
Wreck It Ralph 2
Best 3:
Incredibles 2
Coco
Zootopia
So I agree with a lot from your list, even though here and there, something I don't agree with will come.
So as in for my 3 worst, just to put it a bit short, I honestly don't think the movies were bad but I just like others more than some. So I personally am okay with Cars 3. I felt that it was a improvment from the second movie of the Cars film. I am okay with the where the third movie was going for.
So Toy Story 4, I do like all the Toy Story movies but I didn't enjoy the fourth movie as much. I found Forky pretty annoying and felt that Forky made the movie bad a bit. And seeing Woody say his goodbyes was difficult but I get it.
Wreck It Ralph 2 just wasn't as enjoyable as the first movie to me. Ralph pretty much ruined the movie and maybe even literally. (It all started with him making that track for Venellope). The character Ralph seemed to be a lot more out of character and over did it.
Ok that's it for the worst, I do not think those are bad movies, I just didn't enjoy them as much as others. And the animations are gorgeous on all of them and really improved. The difference between a classic such as Sleeping Beauty compared to a modern Disney/Pixar movie is huge.
Anyways starting with my opinion on the best movies starts off at Incredibles 2. I actually really like the villain and I just like the film as a whole. I liked a lot of things about it such as how it the film started, the little family conflicts is relatable, and how intense the movie gets.
Coco is of course, a beautiful movie, and has a great story and the culture it goes towards is pretty interesting. The animation and story definitely stood out to me. I did enjoy the mystery-like parts it has.
Zootopia is one of my favorite movies of all times. The message and the intense moments was really good. And I actually really enjoy the song 'Try Everything'. I like how it has a deep message, dark parts, and it was intense and entertaining. Zootopia has lovable characters, and I actually didn't see Dawn Bellwether being the one behind for the bad things. I also really like Zootopia and thought that it was one of the best movies made.
So I may have overdone it but I did want to give out reasons. I hope that answers your question.
@@greysa5074 i agree with ur ordering :)

Happy Holidays Strider! :)
Hi PhantomStrider,
Merry Christmas. I hope you had a wonderful holiday and that all is well.
You did a fantastic job describing each of these Disney films on their own, and I agree with you with Zootopia being the best on the list. It’s a truly fantastic film that has a powerful message and amazing, unforgettable, and relatable characters like Judy Hopps, and to me it’s a movie everyone should see. It’s beautiful and groundbreaking, and is one of my favorite Disney films as well.
I enjoy your videos and hearing your opinions on unique forms of animation, may it be Disney, Dreamworks, or any cartoon in general. Cartoons and animation mean a lot to me, they have ever since I can remember. I’m passionate about animation and enjoy drawing the characters I love as well.
I do understand why Cars 3 is on the bottom of this list. It did have some good aspects, though, like you mentioned. However, though I am not a huge Cars fan nowadays, the first film still has a special place in my heart because it helped me get through really tough times. I have Asperger’s Syndrome as well, and Cars was my special interest when it debuted in 2006 - at the time, I liked real cars, and when the film came out I absolutely loved it. Watching the film often provided me great comfort and happiness after it came out on DVD. I was bullied, friendless, and treated badly during the fifth grade, but the movie Cars kept me going and provided comfort for me. I found joy in the characters, humor, heart, and music.
I still find the first Cars film rather charming today, though it is one of my least favorite Pixar films. There are just so many better outputs from Pixar, like the Toy Story films, Up, Coco, Inside Out, Wall-E, and The Incredibles. I don’t honestly think the first Cars film deserves the hate it gets; I find it unexceptional but enjoyable nonetheless; though I do wish Pixar wouldn’t have made any more Cars films.
Again, wonderful video, Strider. Keep up the fantastic work. I always look forward to watching your videos when they come out.

You do amazing things to UA-cam keep it up your my hero
Howdy strider! I see that recently you've increased time of making of videos. Usually it took you like 6 days - 1.5 week.
But also i see a big change in quality. Its a weekly basis for me now for watching your videos, and i always agree like 99% with your picks , beacuse all humans are diffrent. Keep up the good work and also merry christmas :)/
Phantom, you telling us about all the times you felt for Judy made me realize something. That dark edge of the shock collars was an infection on the conflict! When the other predators who are not Nick, Honey, Finnick or Benjamin allow the prey to oppress them like this, it is hard to feel for anyone else, even Judy Hopps, who was working for the organization that enforced these collars and thought Nick was wrong to let the predators roam collar-free in Wild Times. The only other character I remember from this version who had any sense to speak against the shock collars was Gazelle. February 22, 2020, 2:18am
I personally think that Incredibles 2 is overrated. I'll explain as best I can.
I found the movie's beginning exciting and suspenseful, but after that, the story felt lackluster and inconsequential. The villain honestly felt poorly slapped together and didn't make sense to me. Plus, if you ask me, they turned Violet ( my favorite) into a teen cliche.
That said, there are parts of this movie I like. It's visually stunning and very well voice acted. So I can totally understand why people like this movie. I just didn't.
Thanks for reading this insanely long comment.
Edit: Welp, this got a lot more attention than I thought it would.
I kinda agree with you on that one NG Lark. Though you got to admit the raccoon scene was hilarious.
Your opinion on Incredibles 2 is way better than PhantomStrider’s (hell, I just now heard that he PREFERS it over the original), but I do appreciate his speech on the movie’s message on screens.
@@cttnxgacha2543 Yeah I gotta agree with that : )
@@kieranstark7213 thank you.
I cannot agree more!
I always thought Cars 3 was like Rocky 4
Only dumbed down for little kiddies and a antagonist that was made to sell merch and isn't developed at all
Also forced feminism at the ending
Merry Christmas Strider!
Merry Christmas strider ! ♥️
I usually hate talking animal movies(Original Lion King is an exception),but Zootopia is a masterpiece among them!
And Kung Fu Panda!Forgot about that!
Well, the perfect example is Sing. It's a decent "funny animal" movie but that's boring.
Mr. Friendship I feel like Sing was Illumination’s lazy answer to Zootopia, and I will say the same about Secret Life of Pets to Toy Story.
The Secret Life of Pets 2 is underrated in my opinion
@@poweroffriendship2.0 To you maybe, but its still a great animal movie, unlike The Nut Job and Norm of the North.
Great list! I fully agree with Zootopia being #1! One of my favorite Disney movies in general. And I think Strider should do a Top 10 Nick Shows That Deserve a Revival which makes sense considering the Nick-Netflix deal that happened not too long ago. I could easily see MLAATR, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, El Tigre, Catscratch, etc. being on that list. :)
Merry Christmas, PhantomStrider!
I'll be honest, I was waiting for #1
Math is math that scene always makes me laugh
I’m new to your channel but I really enjoyed watching this. Personally Zootopia is the number one modern Disney movie I’ve ever seen and I kinda want to see a sequel to see any expansion to the setting and to the characters.
