Melody : How would you know? You've never even been in it!
Ariel : *I was literally born in the sea*
Well, she doesn't know that at the time because Ariel and Eric kept that from her.
Sophie Amanda Leiton Toomey what would’ve happened if they told her when she was, I don’t know, 10-11?
i think i'm a meanie right when I was reading ur comment the lines played right on time
i think i'm a meanie you merely adopted the sea, I was born in it
Ariel: NANI!?
Peter Pan himself was much nicer in Return to Neverland than he was in the original. In the first movie, he was all about having fun & never noticed when others were physically or emotionally hurt by his antics. But he was much more empathetic towards Jane, perhaps because he still had feelings for Wendy. And he never yelled at Jane for not being Wendy - he accepted Jane as her own person. That’s more mature than most adults.
That's very true. I disliked Peter in the original pretty vehemently. But he was much more pleasant in the sequel
I find that to be the point though. Peter isn’t supposed to be a “nice” character. He’s main thing is he just wants to have fun and act childish.
Sry but I totally had to laugh at your last sentence😂😂😂😂 but I agree with you
But it sadly gave kids a bad message about playing in the war instead of blaming the ADULTS !!
Tinker Bell was still rule and selfish
I prefer her MLP like spinoff movies with her friends and capality to talk !!
@@mason3461 yes but he was TOO FAR
He never really helped Wendy with those ROTTEN mermaids
He KIDNAPPED them
Return to Neverland brings back some fond memories from a seven year old me...almost makes me wanna cry I miss those carefree days...
Same, I loved that movie when I was little.
tbh i really liked cinderella III. it helped expand the character of anastasia.
I love that one! I feel like it's a bit underrated. I really liked the concept, and Anastasia's plot- line. Cinderella herself also gets her own plot that I think is interesting.
Cinderella 3 is underrated
It’s a good sequel
Even if it tops like 5 or 3 in some lists of best Disney sequels, I think this is #1 for Best Disney Princess Sequels to be specific!
Anastasia was my favorite character in that!
Plus, it was badass! :D
According to my understanding Disney sequels weren't even made to be good, but instead to train a new set of animators while grabbing some money in the process? It's really nice to see that some absolute gems came out of that
Northflower LMAO RLLY?
That is incredibly convenient
ah.alright I guess
Sup North didn't know u watched phantom
Yeah but lets be honest cinderella 3 was amazing and bambi was so beautiful
The emotion in your voice changes so much when you switch from the worst to the best sequels 😂
Funny coming from you saiki whenever you buy coffee jelly
Did you tell your friends about your powers?
@@AlanRudy001
Huh?
I loved how even Lion King 1 1/2 kept up with the Shakespeare theme. It’s all one big reference to a parody play called “Rosencratz and Gildenstern are Dead”, centered on two EXTREMELY minor characters in Hamlet and their reactions to all of the events of “Hamlet”.
Disney: *Makes the best movie ever*
Fans: this will be hard to make a sequel!
Disney: Hold my apple juice
I think the lion king , Aladdin , Ralph breaks the internet ,zootopia or the emperors new groove ? Just my opinions .
Oo and beauty and the beast or 101 Dalmatians . And also I really like the Furry Robin Hood I think is the most underrated Disney movie.
I forget moana and the jungle book . In case you where wondering I loved Disney
@@canadiancommunist5161 I also love Disney's Robin Hood it's a relly fun and it still hold up just as well as when I watched it as a kid wich is a suprise as I tend to dislike a lot of old Disney films. I also love the creativity with how they used the animals to tell the story it kinda reminded me of how they did it in Zootopia. And it's probably the Disney film I laugh the most at.
you mean 'hold my beer' cuz they where drunk when they made over half of these things, and they where on depressants when they where making hunchback 2 . (this went out to strawberry milk's comment btw)
I'm honestly really happy seeing Peter Pan 2 at the top of the list, everyone around me looked down on it as a poorly made sequel, but as a child I was invested into it from beginning to end, and that still hasn't changed to this day. If anything, as an adult I can see even more then what I did back then.
TheSparklyMisfit i agree i see Peter pan 2 return to neverland in theaters in 2002
I felt so sad when he said the pop song was forgettable, like ‘I’ll Try’ was my theme song when I was six
I've always had more fun with it than the original Peter Pan
I liked the movie but i never liked jane. I dont know why but she always got on my nerves
Fr
You have no clue how happy I was to see Cinderella 3 make it into the list. No one ever seems to talk about it and in my opinion, it’s more entertaining than the original. The prince is so charming in this film and you get to see he actually has a personality. (Now I see why she fell in love with him) Honestly, it was just fun to watch.
Dude, the scene where the king says he is to not take ONE STEP MORE down the stairs.... and HE JUMPS OUT THE WINDOW oh i loved it lol
Yhea, i remember loving the scenes with the sister as a kid, hell i was exited ever since the trailer for it aired on tv
Percy Walker ikr I love that film so much
Tbh I grew up on Cinderella 3 because that was the movie my sisters always wanted to watch but I didn't mind I thought it was good
I watched the first and third Cinderella but never the second
I actually enjoyed “Cinderella III” and “Peter Pan II” *M U C H* more than than the originals
Same here
That’s cuz they expanded on their characters personalities
Nice profile pic twin
I'd have to rewatch the original Peter Pan, but I'd probably agree anyways. Cause only shortly after watching Peter Pan 2 for the first time, I wanted to already rewatch it XD =D
Wait, Cinderella have sequels?
Where is Beauty and the Beast 3: Lafou's Revenge ?
Lafou:" Gosh it disturbs me to see you Gaston, six feet deep in the ground" *starts crying*
@Lily Layla it's a joke
Well, it would have done better than Belle's Magical World purely by concept.
That actually makes me sad to think about. :(
@VeganOFYT55
Lafou: "Every guy here'd love to be you, Gaston even when you're burning in Hell."
@@nicostud916 Lol
I always thought the scene where Peter meets Wendy as an adult was the best scene in Return to Neverland.
That scene was beautiful
PhantomStrider It's just that Peter always had a bit of a shallow opinion towards grown-ups. Thinking that they change completely, and they forget about the most funnest and nicest memories they had when they were children. And Peter felt that was exactly what was going to happen to Wendy, meaning that he thinks Wendy will forget about him. Which is why he wanted to bring Wendy to Neverland. So she would never forget about him. But now, it's very heartwarming for Peter that Wendy has never forgotten him. Which is why that scene leaves such an impact.
@@phantomstrider please do the TOP 5 CLICHÉ IN CARTOONS FINALE EPISODES
Bambi 2 will always be the absolute best to me - but regarding The Little Mermaid 2. It makes sense that Ariel would mature after what she's been through since it was her ignorance that nearly led to the destruction of her home under the sea. Parents who were rash and bull-headed in their youth are usually the ones who will warn their kids against certain activities. This could've been a very convincing change for Ariel had there been an actual "real." threat and good dialogue.
Teacoon Gaming It would also be good if there was a secret side of Ariel who did Melody to have what she wanted.
That's a good point
@@kenyaholloway-reliford8213 that would have helped more
Fun Fact: Rescuers Down Under was made by mainstream Disney. The vast majority of these were made by Disneytoon Studios, famous for awful sequels, but it was the only sequel Disney made before Disneytoon opened, so it got full attention by the best animators and writers. Lucky for it!
3:33 Ariel stretches her neck like a giraffe. The little mermaid two is the perfect example of why the first movie doesn’t need a sequel and prequel except for the series.
*UrSuLa's CrAzY SisTeR!!!*

That line just kills me. (I’m sorry)
Unknown Person because none of Us CaRES ABOuT heR! If anything she should be thanking Ariel for murdering her sister!
...How was Ursula sane?!
_I don't know why, but that made me laugh so hard._
Personally my most hated Disney sequel is Pocahontas 2. I know the original story is fake history and kinda contrived and dumb but it was visually stunning and so beautiful to watch (plus day music). The sequel managed to do everything in its power to dump on everything that made the original so good x.x
fluffylovey fun fact about the original Pocahontas is that when John Smith came back from his travels all over, he would always tell stories about foreign women falling in love with him. One of those being Pocahontas! So for a while the story of Pocahontas was true to most people (other than those who traveled with him). What I enjoy about Pocahontas 2 is that it tries to fix the originals historical inaccuracies and puts her with John Ralfe, who she marries to make relations with indians better and learn more about european life. But also how much of a douche John Smith was in real life (thinking selfishly at the end), he was quite a charmer..
Actually, she was forced into marrying John Ralfe in real life and paraded around England as the "tamed savage"
fluffylovey holy yes..
i pretend that movie doesn't exist. the disney version could have stayed the disney version, they don't need to bother with historical accuracy. the original was magical despite not being super historically accurate.
I don't think that exists
Full agreement on "The Rescuers Down Under". Such an underrated movie, really loved Bernard and Bianca, criminally underlooked.
What I appreciate about "Return to Neverland" is that WW2 is treated with respect, especially it's effect it can have on kids. Jane is relatable as a character, especially to those who have had their dads or brothers go off to war, not knowing if they'll come back alive.
It's amazing that this movie got so much effort and such a budget.
I remember when I was a kid I had the biggest crush on Jane from Peter Pan 2, and frankly, in retrospect, I see why. She's really a fantastic protagonist, especially for a Peter Pan story.
But it's sad that she was just a minor character in the book.
The reason that Fantasia 2000 and Rescuers Down Under are such high quality is because they are the only 3 that were actually released in theaters, giving them infinite more of a budget than the rest of the sequels, that are all straight to VHS/DVD
They were also made by Disney's main unit, while the rest of the sequels were done by their side unit Disneytoons Studios, besides the 2011 Pooh movie. Though some of the Disneytoons sequels like Bambi II and The Tigger Movie were released in theatres in certain countries.
who watches VHS anymore
but peter pan 2 & jungle book 2 were in theaters too
True but those were made by Disneytoons Studios, not Disney's main film unit.
I also remeber to see Bambi's secuel in theathers (I'm form Mexico)
Yes yes yes Peter Pan 2 has a really special place in my heart
shi poo I know how you feel
I (for some reason) dont like it
For some reason I thought link was Peter Pan
When I was 6 years old
Nebby0 really? Lol
"Look at me! I'm an achovy!" You can't beat a professional writer for brilliant dialog like that.
Since Lion King is based off of Hamlet, Lion King 1 1/2 is based off of Rosencratz and Gildenstein are dead, where it’s the same story, but from the POV of two other characters
Well, Lion King 1 1/2 is kinda based on Comedy Of Errors by William Shakespeare.
Peter Pan II just throws my childhood back to me and that’s a reason I love it Xx
I just recently watched it and felt like a kid again because it totally takes you away from start to finish.
where can I watch it in HQ? I've only found smth like 144p
Same my dude
Peter pan 2 was my childhood as well
Same also holy crap how muck money was Disney making!?
I forbid you from going down these stairs!

That was my favorite part XD
Astonishing things about Cinderella III
1% Anastasia's character redemption
1% Cinderella being stronger and resilient

I liked Peter Pan 2 loads more than the original as a child.
You have phenomenal taste! 😁
The sene when Jane hugs the lost boys always gets me almost to tears
Me too
MS WHATUP same
I agree. I saw the clip and my eyes started watering
Man, The Lost Boys are adapted in the original novel with them being killed Peter Pan with a knife was just too extreme for a kid-friendly Disney movie. But at the end, Jane played with Peter Pan and he broke his heart after he found out that Wendy was married and grown up. But I'm sure in Peter Pan 2: Return To Neverland that at the end, Peter and Wendy reunited after the movie.
Fun fact: Belle's magical world was the first 4 episodes of an unaired show
Yeah, same for Cinderella 2 and Atlantis 2, IIRC
O wow
Honestly they should give a tv show to Oliver and Company, The Rescuers, The Great Mouse detective, and Treasure Planet.
No sh*t Sherlock
Giggity King OMG that would be amazing especially for The Great Mouse Detective
Mulan 2 was definitely utter trash. Thank you for acknowledging it as such.
Worst part is it had potential to be good if they didn't go with the marriage plot and went with the original idea of Shan Yu and the Huns coming back as ghosts.
The songs were good though
Haters of Mulan (1998) that like to make it sound too flawed to be considered amazing so they can make both the sequel and the remake sound a lot more like overhated gems by comparison are cyberbullies (re: the toxic side of the comment section of m.ua-cam.com/video/sEl6cXB_riA/v-deo.html that don’t acknowledge why they should have instead griped that Pooh’s Grand Adventure, even by Disney Renaissance standards, is too brilliant to land on this list since as Pooh fanatics, it is the greatest DTS film since A Goofy Movie).
Still not as horrifying as Pocahontas 2
Return to Neverland has one of my all-time favourite Disney songs in it. "I'll Try" never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
OMG SAME! IT'S SO POWERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL!
1. FINALLY! Someone acknowledged one of my favorite Disney movies, Fantasia 2000!
2. The Little Mermaid 2 could have been better if Ariel actually approved of Melody wanting to go to the sea but kept it a secret
3. Fanfics are better than any of the stories from Belle's Magical World
4. Your points about Peter Pan 2 make me see it in a different light (I never saw the movie in full)
5. They may not be sequels but finales in a sense, but I enjoyed Pooh's Grand Adventure and Leroy and Stitch.
In regards to 4), I actually recommend it. It’s not terrible.
There's no racism in the peter pan sequel so I actually think it might be better than the original :D
Peter Pan 2 was my childhood favorite! It was so emotional when Tinker Belle died! Well, until she woke again it had to be one of the most saddest disney moments I have ever scene.
GalaxyCake I think so too
GalaxyCake for some reason when I was younger I HATED tinker bell and I just loved when she was dying😂😂I was a terrible child lmao
Nicole Lyn oof well that's dark XDDDD
That was my favorite scene when I was a child. Not because I hated Tinker. I loved her, but there was something about that scene that I really loved as fucked up as it sounds.
Probably with how well it was handled. Like you could see in Tinkers expressions as she was getting weaker that she knew she was going to die, but she did not want to die. She was fearing for her life. That scene really got to me as a kid.
GalaxyCake I dunno. The saddest Disney moments in my opinion are Kenai telling Koda his mother wasn't coming back because he killed her (Brother Bear), the opening of Bambi 2, Lilo and Stitch when Stitch breaks down about being lost, and all 80 something mintutes of The Hunchback, and The Tigger Movie is freaking depressing as hell.
I blame the rescuers down under for our expectations of Disney sequels.
@2023 Brayden Langford On the contrary, they're saying that Rescuers Down Under is so GOOD, to the point that it made the audience have HIGH expectations for Disney sequels. Yeah... We all know how that went...
My son says: YES! The Rescuers Down Under is one of those rare sequels that isn't just a good follow-up, but even surpasses the original!
Rescuers down under is better than the original, and it isn't as bad as some people say.

I loved the little mermaid 2 cause it made ariel the only princess to actually have a child which implies she got it on with eric lol
I'm sure they probably did have kids eventually, I just wish they showed us what it was like. It's true that Ariel changed in the second movie but you have to keep in mind that she was young in the first. People change when they get older, especially if they have kids. You can't always be adventurous when you have a child to look after. Besides, if you did dangerous things when you were younger, would you let your kids do the same? I do plenty of things that I'll never let my future kids do lol.

I would get it on with Eric, he's the hottest Disney prince, after Alladin of course

@@futureparadise.2089 Haha, yeah
I personally grew up watching the little mermaid 2 on VHS at least 5 times a week. I can see why it is not very liked, but I can't hate it no matter how bad the plot was
Now lion king 1 1/2 that was the other movie I'd watch every day. I'm glad to see people like it
Ren Biscotti Same here, it was one of my childhood favorites. I don’t like it as much but I can’t hate it 😂
I love the little mermaid 2 😄
I watched it too and I actually liked the Ariel/Melody duet despite it not sounding as good as an original Little Mermaid song
ExplosionMare same, after 10 years I still have the last song in my head
Me too! I think loads of fans of the original could really relate to Melody... we all wanted to be mermaids after it! Admittedly though, I would have really liked Ariel to be self aware about how she was acting like her father, with a bigger focus on her as a mother than Melody in some ways.
i like how you vent on Mushu's change of chaacter so much because *_same_* . I remember being confused as to how he'd act like that. as a kid i watched the hell out of it just because i didnt see how bad it was.
Same, I didn't realize how ASININE Mushu was acting
What?? I _loved_ Cinderella 2😂
But yeah, Peter Pan 2 is one of the most beautiful Disney films to date. I love how they handled Jane's character, and how it contrasts with young Wendy's innocence.
(Also i had a major crush on Peter as a kid and it was great to see him again😂😂)
Me too
I couldn’t agree with this list more. When I was younger I found myself watching Peter Pan 2 more than Peter Pan 1. I saw Bambi 2 a year or so ago and it was a wonderful movie. I honestly loved it. I agree with more choices but those two stuck out to me. Awesome list! I love it!
Lizzy Fandom Trash When I first saw it as a child it was so amazing especially at the end ❤
Bambi 2 is amazing, I loved it as much as Bambi. Peter Pan 2 was, for me, better than the 1st. For some reason, in the first film, Peter seemed a little bit of a jerk (I should rewatch it to have a better opinion, but that's the idea I have) and Jane was a more complex character for me than Wendy. Peter Pan 2 has more depth.

Okay yeah I get that logically it will never ACTUALLY happen but the fan art is cute and they'd make a great couple so yeah, I ship it
21:34 they could have done a basic fanfiction "lost brother" and it would have worked better. Because maybe the brother ran away and got turned
into a beast or something by the enchantress, who went to check his house to see if the rest of his family are worth saving. We could actually see the animation of her going to beasts' house and meeting him, showing us that she was actually the villian all along like in matpat's theory. The beast goes to find his brother after turning human. And the movie is better. Sure, its like a fanfic. But it is one since i just made it up.
My Worst:
3) Hunchback 2 - I could see potential in the story (surprisingly), but it all was wasted on a safe dumb script
2) Belle's Magical Trash - The writing and animation were awful, and good grief the characters were butchered
1) Fox and the Hound 2 - Because when I think Fox and the Hound, I think of a pointless cliched band/liar story
My Best:
3) Peter Pan 2 - Good animation, and I personally love the plot line, glad I'm not alone in that.
2) Cinderella 3 - Dumb idea somehow was made amazingly epic
1) Rescuers Down Under - Perfect storyline, epic animation, and I love everything about it

Tara Strong actually considers Melody her FAVORITE ROLE. She voiced Raven and she thinks THAT was her best voice role?
I read that too.. Funny isn't it? Nothing inherently bad about the character. Just wasn't in a particularly enjoyable movie to me.
Sam Silverman I didn't know that until like 2016-17. And there are loads of better voice works Tara Strong did.
I asked her a same question at ComicCon.
Sam Silverman really, she did raven, Ben 10 ,unikitty, timmy turner and bubbles and melody is her favourite
Tara Strong is awesome she is actually my favorite voice acter, any character she voice is cool at least to me

Peter pan 2 made me cry when Tinkerbell almost died, still does till this day, its just a freaking emotional scene!

I completely agree with your best list. Return to Neverland was always my favorite and always left me with a huge grin on my face.
Where the hell was Pocahontas II? It's lame, ugly, predictaple and ruins the entire character of pocahontas. It makes her look blunt and weak. I loved pocahontas as a kid but after seeing the sequel i just tried to erase it from my mind.

Agree 100%!!!
The sequel is also historically inaccurate and insensitive to Native Americans
It was bad, but it wasn't as awful as the sequels listed in the video. And that is saying something.
YES I AGREE
Peter Pan II is my favorite too! It even got a theatrical release!
BeanBag343 That's also why I personally love this sequel. But the only downside for me with this movie, was that it didn't get an Oscar nod for best animated feature film. But then again it can't exactly compare to Spirited Away in my opinion. But overall I love both of these movies.

I watched it on Disney Channel for some reasons. The best part was when Tink is dying from poison and Jane was crying. But it's pretty much everything about relatable characters.
I don't like Peter Pan that much or return to Neverland but I got to admit the first one was way better

I have to say this... I have not bin a fan of 3D animation... I don't hate 3D animation... Wreck It Ralph, Tangled hell all of the Pixar movies would work in 2D... But for the very first time i fell in love with a 3D animated movie... Zootopia Is The Best Looking movie and is the first one to deserve being in 3D animation... You may not like it but 3D animation is here to stay... Moana may have worked in 2D but that 3D water effect no way that would have looked as good in 2D... If you can't look past animation then i feel bad for you... The Animation is just one part of it... The stories and characters are just as important... If your just looking at the animation... Thin you are just getting a quarter of the movie... And if you are avoiding the movies because they are 3D animation then you are missing out big time... Zootopia needs a Sequel... And I'd like to see Moana get one too.
I'm not really a fan of 3D either. But I was planning to be as animator for Pixars someday or creating my own show. But I do believe that CGI nowadays are just bleak, exception for Pixars and Dreamworks as well as Illumination Studios.
Sequels can be bad sometimes only if you messed up the plots and originalities.
The reason why Hunchback of Notre Dame 2's animation is so....poor is because the team that had to try recreate the Disney style, the problem is that they do much better with darker styles, particularly with Batman: The Animated Series, so it's not 100% their fault, with a combination of out of element, and to try to copy their style. Okay, now I know someone will point out the original is a bit of a dark film, so I don't know how to explain how they messed that up
Edit: Honestly I'm shocked I got over 110 likes, I know its ironic to say I've never got so many likes, though I'm serious, I'm suprised so many people like this comment :0
I loved Little Mermaid 2. It's my guilt. Loving it.
I love it too
Same
Better than others and I grew up with it. Plus Tara Strong is amazing.
I loved it aswell
Same it was one of my favorite sequels in disney. Same thing with Peter Pan Returns to Neverland.
I remember watching The Rescuers down under as a kid, and it was so good I had no idea it was a sequal. I HAVE to show that video to my son!
I personally liked melody and most the other sequels but as long as there’s worst stories there’s always improvements.
Interesting fact on Jennifer Hale: She voiced Samus Aren for a dialogue. It was cut to make Samus silent in order to fit game’s isolated atmosphere.
Plus Cinderella is even a lookalike of Samus Aran in Cinderella III!
LONG LIVE FEMALES AND ANYONE IN GENERAL WITH SKILLS AND OPTIMISM!!!!
Cinderella meeting Samus, possibly also visiting the realm of the Metroid franchise... Now THERE'S a crossover I want made!
There's an awesome picture book called Interstellar Cinderella where she's a spaceship mechanic 😃
They eventually did gave Samus dialogue in Metroid: Other M and it among a lot of other things ruined the game as a whole. Metroid went on hiatus for several years before butchering it up again with Federation Force! And then finally they learned their lesson with a proper 2D Metroid not seen since the GBA, and the promise of a 4th Metroid Prime game for Switch!
*+Cyberbrickmaster1986* Nope, that wasn't the first time they gave her *dialogue.* The first time was in *Metroid Fusion.* Now, *voiced dialogue* is quite different.
The Rescuers Down Under was one of my favorite movies growing up. In fact, I didn’t even know it was a sequel until some years later when I watched the original movie. I prefer Down Under over the original any day of the week. The best part about it was casting John Candy as Wilbur. He stole the show and made the movie even better. The golden eagle flying scenes were spectacular too. I agree 100% that it’s a totally underrated movie and should’ve gotten more respect than it did. Apparently, it was a box office failure. I don’t see why. I thought it was really good. And I wish there could’ve been a third one.
Rescuers Down Under was made by the studio's TV department in Australia, the same studio that also produced all the shows and was later asked to do the sequels. If you watch the order these sequels came out in parallel to what TV shows were coming out at the time you will probably see the quality dip around the same time. You have probably also noticed that most of these "movies" are failed TV pilots recut into movies. Thinking especially of Belle's Enchanted Christmas, Tarzan & Jane, and Atlantis: Milo Returns.
OH MY GOD! You're reminding me why I loved Return to Neverland sooooooo much! When I watched it as a kid I liked it, then I rewatched it (as one does). I never owned a copy and they played it on tv on Toon Disney and stuff and I just loved it. My favorite parts as a younger child were of captain hook and the squid and for a young kid it will crack you up. And being able to explore neverland when he brings Jane in is a DREAM! It brought so much fantasy in my young childhood. I would reenact my own captain hook and Jane/wendy scenes with some of my toys. And the movie provided me with enough for my young child instincts to awaken and for me to feel entranced. And even though the movie did later become heavy as a kid it was structured in such a way that it isn't a overbearing theme that will distract the gist of the story for a small conversation about it with younger elementary school kid.
I never quite got the whole WWII thing because I was too young on my first watches as a young elementary school kid to and hadn't studied enough of it in school to make heads or tails of the time periods significance. But the movie (minus those parts) for a older elementary school kid which is slightly uneducated (about complex history topics) the movie really made me feel something truly spectacular. These emotions that I was now feeling I had never been able to feel or grasp as a child in any other movie this movie was still able to maintain a whimsical and fun charm. When you commented on how Jane picked up one of the lost boys and said "I have to go home " it hit home and I remember feeling the emotions as a kid. *Brief intermission here as I take a moment to calm my emotions because of my fond memories of this movie* *cries internally thinking about it* When Peter talked to wendy (as a younger kid it wasn't a big deal, but as a older kid on a new rewatch it was) it hit home and I remember having memories of crying and getting teary eyed. Right now I almost cried. Not because thinking of the scene makes you cry. But because of my fond memories of thinking about the scene and how I felt as a child when I finally got it and understood the meaning and significance of having to be grown up but not really having changed. The best part (after a clear explanation of the bomb shelter in the movie and all the WWII stuff as explained from my mother) was when the dad came home. And after I finally was old enough to understand what it actually meant for her father to return, as a slightly older kid self (older than my previously mentioned "old elementary school kid" me) I remember crying because I understood it.
I never wanted to believe I could love a stupid disney sequel sooo much and I always thought it was wrong to. But you made me believe otherwise today and your review changed me. I just want to say thank you for reviewing these movies. It means a lot to me. Especially the Return to Neverland review. It brought back lost memories from my childhood, of loving the movie and playing make believe with my toys. This movie is a masterpiece and if it could keep a young elementary schooler entertained and later evoke emotions in a oler elementary school kid it just goes to show how amazing this movie really is.
If you've actually read this or gone this far, just go watch the movie if you haven't already. But really though, even if you already watched it, WATCH IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!
09crafty09 me too! I really love the sequel because Jane had to grow up fast, just like me.she still had childlike behavior but had suppress them and think/act more mature.she had an understanding of how their lives are in danger. she was a child still though and deserved to be one and that’s were Peter Pan comes in to show her it’s ok to have fun!
I used to watch it at my grandparents house on VHS, that and Lady and the tramp 2
I do deeply relate to this sentiment even as an adult though, it's a good movie just in general not even just for a Disney sequel, and I personally really related to the themes of it as someone who had to grow up too soon
Cinderella 3 is the final film from Disneytoon Studios to be a direct to video sequel as they now focus on spinoffs and original films, and was shut down In the summer of 2018 because there weren't too many employees for this small studio.
Yeah. Like Hanna-Barbara Studios, it was completely shut down because of bankrupts but the building was existed to this day. But only surrounded by construction sites.
Ray Sipe And thank goodness for that. Don’t get me wrong, I was a huge fan of DisneyToon for movies like Mickey Donald Goofy: The Three Musketeers, and anything from the Tinker Bell series, but they were making another god-awful Planes movie when they shut down.
Well, if some fans of DisneyToons saw the news. They will freaked out!
Honestly, Peter Pan II and Lion King 2 really feel like a hearty meal of a movie.
I love them both SO much, I LOVE Peter Pan, and as a cosplayer, I have always wanted to get his character (working on it!) and I relate to him on a personal level. He's snarky, childish, and a little selfish. The ambient music was gorgeous, as you said. I ADORE Jane! The setting of WWII is lovely too, we finally get a movie with children (That isn't The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas) based in that time that gives us insight on how it affects the characters. How Jane sometimes doesn't act like a child. But there is still the childish heart of it, when I hear "Quick, Nana two!" My heart warms. Jane has obviously heard stories of her mama's and uncles dog, as not even Wendy would name a dog that, and named her Nana II
And this, Lion King 2, the one you may not agree with, I think it's amazing. Zira's villain song I can recite by heart whereas with Scars I every so often just end up going 'mmhhphfllll' because the song is composed in a way where I get the lyrics mixed up, Zira's song holds a lot of weight to it and gives my brain marks in the animation I can link to where I'm supposed to be, such as the tail-stepping scene, the breaking through the dirt etc. Though I love Scar and the original movie but Be Prepared (I shit you not I had to look it up to recall the name) just felt like they were flexing their budget. I mean, even their chemistry seems a lot more fleshed out and I can sing all of the songs. I can't do that with the original.
I wish there was more merch for both sequels.
11:19 Watch his eyes, trust me.

*”UGHHH!! THIS ONE IS SHUDDERINGLY BAD.”* I’m sorry I laughed so hard 😂
L Lawliet hi l I'm kira
Bob Hastie That’s cool, kid.
Lion King 1 1/2 to me was funny, but you can really only watch it once. Lion King 2 (other than the animation) to me is better than the original. The motivations are much clearer and it’s it follows up the original well.
Agreed
and it didnt end like romeo and Juliet
StarryNight1313 Finally someone agrees!!!!
To be fair, the original Lion King didn't end like Hamlet, either.
I don't like Lion King 1 1/2's irreverent tone towards the original. Really, that scene where the reason why all the animals kneel is revealed to be because of Pumbaa farting was just too much. It's not bad, but I greatly prefer Lion King 2.
I actually haven't watched many of these Disney sequels myself. So I'll say that Lion King 2 is my favorite sequel. And Hunchback of Notre Dame 2 is the worst one I've watched, for sure.
I'd have to put Rescuers Down Under at #1 personally. I saw it in the theater when I was about 7, and it was just incredible on the big screen. It was also really one of the first times I saw cgi integrated into traditional animation like that and looking back now, 30 years later, i have to think that it may have been an influence on my love of animation as an art form. Also, Joanna the Goanna doesn't get nearly enough love as a villain's sidekick.
“Bambi 2”
Me- there is a second one?
Yeah and it’s amazing!
Hunchback II doesn't even look like the same universe as the first one. If they had to make a Hunchback II, they should have done a midquel about a younger Quasimodo trying to venture out, making one friend but eventually, Frollo finds out he's been sneaking out and he never sees that friend again. It would end with the gargoyles coming to life and becoming his new friends (possible hallucination implied for the adults watching), giving him a happy ending. It would still be stupid, but it might work.
Hannah Shribman-Brown Actually, that isn't even _that_ stupid.
@@Midnight.Creepypastas At least it has an excuse to bring Frollo
back.
That actually sounds like something thatd be good. I never even bothered to watch that sequel
YES! Return to Neverland was one of my favorite Disney films growing up, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who likes it! "I Try" is also one of the most beautiful Disney songs ever, as well as arguably my favorite.
Y E S
I loved this one way more than the original!
Yes of course it showed a much darker aspect of Peter and his immortality
YES! Every time I have a bad day, I watch Return to Neverland. It was my absolute favorite Disney movie, PERIOD! Still is to this day. I'll Try is also the best song to listen to when you need a good cry.
YES!!
20:41 they way he says "but they're my favorite" is sending me
About that part with the daughter hugging that lost boy instead of dropping him..I had a moment when, in rage, I was about to rip my gold ring off my left hand, but remembered the guy I liked..and started to cry. I fell onto the ground. I was switching from rage to depression faster than I could even think about stopping. Love is a powerful thing. For the people who have no one...you will someday. I promise.
Ariel, give her that necklace back and tell her about Morgana or I will take your past self to see what you become-TRITON!
Not only that, but Princess Ariel also became Donald Trump by unfairly having a banning wall!!!
Kieran Stark I get it, but Ariel was just overprotecting Melody where as Trump's just a racist.
Yeah, let's face it. People like me have a very rough history with Princess Ariel because in The Little Mermaid 1, she never developed from being ungrateful, selfish and a female stereotype in general. No wonder The Little Mermaid II would be horribly executed, but there is more reasons why such as PhantomStrider's points to why The Little Mermaid II: The Return to the Sea is another example of how charmless a sequel made by DisneyToon Studios can really be while the film's on this list of greatest Disney animated sequels are total exclusions). However, apart from its stereotypes, The Little Mermaid (1989) is actually partially well-made because of what the animators could do although it is a film released in the late '80s, actually beautiful songs by Alan Menken and specially badass villain Ursula.
Kieran Stark Okay, Ariel wasn't ungrateful. She just wanted to discover a world outside the ocean. TRITON was the SELFISH ONE! He destroyed her trinket collection to teach her a lesson and in doing so pushed Ariel to lose her voice until the end of the movie.
Oh, Triton too pissed me off in The Little Mermaid because of what you just described he has! But HE was the one that actually developed his attitude by having a MUCH more controlled temper. Princess Ariel could have journeyed King Triton to the human world so that they could give it a chance to see if it is that bad like in the near past or not. That's one of the many reasons I would be honored to remake (and/or parodize Walt Disney Animation Studio's The Little Mermaid) besides the fact that no matter how much she would want to be at or at least check out the human world, she could at least be grateful of the sea realm she is at. After all, it has magic! I know you disagree that Ariel is ungrateful, but I elaborated on why I respectfully disagree with you and find my opinion to be objective and try to be as respectful about it as possible.
I had never seen return to neverland, so i decided to check it out. I CRIED 6 TIMES!!!
the first half of the movie is really dark and sad, there's war, jane's emotions throughout the film, and several moments where you just can't forget that through the whole adventure there is a war going on, that jane is away from her family through very hard times. The scene at the end especially got me when peter ended up seeing wendy again after all these years. There was just something very heartwarming about peter meeting her again.
Thanks for recommending this to me! :)
IKR? It was the most heart-wrenching movie out there ;-;
Utterly delightful to watch. You kept cracking me up :) Thanks for that

Beast: BUT THERE MY FAVORITE
The soundtrack and songs for The Lion King 2 was absolutely amazing!
how tragic He Lives in You and Not One of Us give me chills every time. My Lullaby also invokes much of the same power as Be Prepared but in a creepier, darker way instead of a powerful way.
I love them too!
Yes.
I first saw Kronk's new groove when I was about 9, I think? And I loved it! I still really like it. It's definetly not as good as the original, the original is basically an unpassable film. But the second one still had some great jokes, but just a bit less effort put in. If youre in the mood, and know its definetly not gonna be the best, you can really enjoy this film.
I will fight for Kronk's new groove with sword and banner and I'll gladly lose my head for it
@@JJ_-fp9sj As will I! I will defend Kronk's spinoff sequel UNTIL I DIE!
Crystal Controller / shinee-p it’s amazing because you can’t go wrong with Kronk
@@coenlastname5574 agreed!
I actually watched Kronks new groove before the original, anD I AgReE
Even dough Peter Pan 2 was good, Tick Tock Croc shouldn't be replaced.(He's the best character)
Yes! I didnt even know The Rescuers Down Under was a sequel until I was older. It seemlessly fit in as an original Disney animated masterpiece to me. Love your lists man keep it up.
