Life was good as a child in America between 1997-2005 if you had optimus Prime promoting for your favorite anime block. Then toonami started putting some weird shows on. But I still do miss hearing Peter Cullens voice.

Man this brings back memories! My friends and I planned a sleep over when I was 7 to watch Tree of Might but before that my mom took all of us to Hollywood Video where we found more DBZ movies. Coolest night as kid watching DBZ, pizza, and video games!

I'd take him over Zamasu any day! That being said, and in hindsight, I'm surprised the writers didn't have Zamasu use the Tree of Might. Not only would he be wiping out mortals like he wanted, but also be absorbing their life force to make himself stronger. That would come in handy fighting Beerus and the other gods!
@@johnnygyro2295 well that's because it wasn't canon like a lot of the other older DBZ movies. Pretty interesting characters but the older films weren't written by Akira Toriyama (well they were designed by Toriyama but that's all he was involved in)

also I may be in the minority, but I really did love Ian Corlett as Goku.
I really enjoyed the Ocean dub up to the android/cell saga, I feel by that point that Funimation is necessary in that it makes everyone sound older and more mature
That's how I always looked at it. Ocean Dub was when they were younger & Funimation was when they were older.

Yep, that's Corlett. Back when this aired, they used an edited version of the movie and it was before Peter Kelamis voiced Goku. They edited it a ton. They spliced in scenes from the episodes and used different music. This version never got a DVD release. But I have a high quality source that I'm syncing to the Blu-ray movie that I'll put up for download. It's a ton of work but it'll be worth it.

Yeah I love Turles. One of my favorite DBZ villains. One of the main reason Tree of Might is one of my top 3 favorite DBZ movies.

@@shorty235z (Finally replying after 4 years Lol) I may need to see it again but I remember my issues with it were it took a while to actually get to the tree, Goku's friends losing their fights to make goku look good was unnecessary, also gokus actual fight with turles felt a bit to short. My opinion may change if I see it again.

The timeline for this film take place between goku arriving on namek and the fight with frieza so I guess it's around when goku, gohan, krillin and vegeta fighting the ginyu force
@Above Average Gamer Late reply but it's important to know that most Dragonball movies are "side stories" that don't necessarily mesh/fit well into the main canon story. How it usually works is that a movie will start at some unstated, yet somewhat obvious, reference point in the main story (with Tree of Might, for example, it's obvious that this movie takes place around some unspecified time before the events in Namek) and then tangent off from there for the purpose of the movie's original story, usually giving no heed to events that happened in the main story, all while utilizing elements that have happened in the main story that have occurred up to previously stated reference point (Z Warriors teaming up to defend the Earth from Turles' group is obviously borrowed from the Saiyan Saga, Goku using Kaio-ken).
