Our Albanian son-in-law guided us through Tirana where he grew up and Permet where his mother grew up. We're hoping to return. It was unlike any other place we've traveled.
I recently had the chance to visit Tirana and was blown away by the city. From the friendly locals to the delicious food, there was so much to love about Tirana. The city has a rich history and stunning architecture, and there are so many interesting sights to see, including the Skanderbeg Square and the Et'hem Bey Mosque. Overall, I would highly recommend Tirana as a must-visit destination.
We had the most wonderful time in Albania. We hired a personal driver for my wife and I and saw almost the whole country. Everything from the cities to country communities. Albania has such a rich diversified culture and the people are amazing. The food is superb and the views are spectacular.. we are already trying to plan to go back. If anybody is planning on going and you would like to do what we did then I can send you some info about our driver. He was a wonderful addition to our trip and became friends almost immediately. We did nit run into any place that took US dollars but we had plenty of leis and euros. And forget credit cards, almost non existent.
Oh! You should go to Ksamil, Sarandë! It’s one of the best and cleanest country’s/beaches in the world! You should definitely go there, and the food in the restaurants there is AMAZING! I love a full plate of shrimp pasta, and it’s very cheap! (Ex: Large plate of shrimp pasta: 5$ US dollars) Every August when I go to Albania I always go to Ksamil! Another thing! The hotels are so luxurious and very affordable! There are coffee bars everywhere and even gambling bars! And a recommendation: GET FRIED CORN! It’s soooooo good, even if it is a hot day and the corn is hot, it just suits the beach style and it’s very delicious!!!! ANDDDD another thing I like about the beach is that there’s like 2 floors, the first one is where the beach is with the seats, and the 2nd is where the restaurants are, so every time you book a seat (3$ US DOLLARS FOR A WEEK) they give you this phone where you can call the nearest restaurant and order what you would like, then your seats always have numbers so you can tell them where you are, when the food arrives it’s hot (or cold if you ordered something that’s usually cold). And the best thing I like about going to Ksamil is that a night walk is the best! It’s full of people and there’s boats everywhere with colorful lights around them, for you to take a sea tour! There’s people selling stuff to kids, from colorful light balloons (that don’t pop) to things you launch in the sky and always come back! The restaurants at night are so pretty and very good to enjoy dinner!

Thanks for this nice video. It's so well captured and presented. Good to know about all the important factors like what to eat, when to eat, and how to travel around. Thanks for the tip on carrying cash.. Greetings from Oman
Actually a fancy restaurant or hotel would cost around 170Euros breakfast and dinner included depends on what part of albania it is but southern albania is much expensive then the rest
As a albanian the most needed info was the one to carry cash , cause of pyramid schemes that is mentioned in vidio albanians are not really connected with banks 😂
You also have to know that traffic on main roads in horrible: very busy, agresive driving, white lines missing on the road, the freeway is not really a freeway because it's not isolated from the outside (limit is around 100 km/h, people are selling vegetables and stuff on the side of the road, cars stop on the emergency lane, people or animals can cross the highway, etc.). You have to keep this in mind when crossing or visiting Albania.

l'm a torist in Albania from Azerbaijan🇦🇿☺️ l spent 1 week here and l want to share my experiences about my ongoing vacation✨ Albania is a beautiful country with crystal clear waters and towering mountains as video says. Here’s my experience and a breakdown of the pros and cons of visiting this wonderful place. Pros 1. Stunning Nature: The landscapes are breathtaking, with pristine beaches and majestic mountains. 2. Affordable Prices: The cost of traveling in Albania is low, making it budget-friendly.✨ 3. Delicious Food: The local cuisine is satisfying, especially for someone from Azerbaijan, which is a country of various food culture, Albania offers flavors reminiscent of home.😋 4. Friendly People: The locals are generally welcoming and hospitable.😍 5. Quiet and Relaxing: It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the serene environment. Cons 1. Stray Dogs: We came across aggressive stray dogs, which was a frightening experience. There were 11 of them, and they came out of the dark suddenly, like a horror movie. They started to jump and show their scary teeth. l haven't seen tags on their ears, so l freaked out... It’s advisable to be cautious, especially at night. l stopped a random car and jumped in to save my life🤦🏻♀️ 2. Transportation: Public transport can be unreliable, and some tourist spots are not accessible by bus such as "Blue eye".(taxi id over 50-60€ from Sarande) Renting a car is highly recommended to explore the country efficiently. 3. Taxi Scams: Be wary of taxi drivers who may overcharge and drop you off at incorrect locations. Always negotiate fares beforehand and consider using a reliable map or GPS. Cause l had this experience, and my driver claimed that he doesn't know my address, and his map is not working well. But he forced me to pay 15€ for 600 m. l could have walked to my hitel, but after facing the attack of stray dogs, l didn't want to take a risk at night, but he dropped me 7 minutes by walk from my accomadation anyway... Recommendations • Stay Alert: Be cautious of stray dogs and avoid walking alone at night in less populated areas. • Verify Taxi Fares: Always confirm the price before starting your trip and use reputable taxi services to avoid scams. Overall, Albania is a wonderful country to visit. Despite some challenges, the beauty and charm of the place make it worth the trip. l plan to return and continue exploring this amazing country. Because every rose has its thorns😇🫶🏻🇦🇱
Thank you for your detailed tips and advice! The people are warm and welcoming and we love the nature! So sorry to hear about your experience with stray dogs? Was that in the city centers or rural areas? And yes the public transportation isn’t he best, especially during the busier times of the year which is odd! That’s a great tip with taxis, always check they are verified and using the meter - if in doubt, avoid! Thank you again and we hope you enjoyed your trip overall! ✈️

I just came from my albanian 🇦🇱 4 weeks holiday and feel it wasn't enough The country is stunning, it really has everything the whole planet 🌍 has in that just small country, from beautiful beaches to snowy alps and green lushness My only concern is that the country's tourism has shot up recently and it may spoil it,.... otherwise it really lives up to the reputation as Maldives of Europe and Switzerland picks all in one
It’s such a beautiful place and yeah one of the reasons it’s so special is because it’s a lot less visited than other places in Europe! We are glad you could explore it before it gets more and more popular!
Now I am in Albania for the fourth time, and I would love to visit the contry again. But there is something that we foreigners should know: In a number of places, we are not allowed to drop used toilet paper in the toilet. They explain it by saying that the pipes are too narrow. So used toilet paper must be placed in a small container next to the toilet. This does not apply everywhere, but in some places.
Im going to albania in two three weeks,im going to durres vivas hotel, cant wait to see albania, seems great 😍 i wonder does they use euros beside albanian lek,can someone answer, thanks
Thanks for your info about Albania ,it is so useful ,Albania is a nice country not only to visit but you can learn so much, people in Albania are very nice and respectful as well. The food is good but i want to suggest visiting another Albanian country Kosova(Kosova was divided from Albania by force in 1878 and another time in july 1913, however on 1999 after the war it became independent) where they also have nice people like Albania. It is also rich in history and you can find a castle in every city which were there since BC.
Kosovo is a temporarily occupied Serbian country. There were no Albanians until the arrival of the Turks in Kosovo. Even in Albania you were a minority.
@@МиланПотић-б9х nonsense. The Serbian government should just admit that the times of Yugoslavia are gone. Kosova is now a democratic and free country.
Hi! I'm from Albania and I was born from Albania I live in a small city of Albania named "Krume" Prices are pretty cheap and there are a lot of friendly people And our history started when we had a war when 🇹🇷Turkey wanted to make Albania not speak Albanian but Turkish
I’m planning a travel soon, glad to see positive comments on people welcoming and being kind. I’m just curious of people perspective with Hajab head scarf? Is there discrimination in this regard?
Contrary to what the UK media told me I decided to visit Albania. I was right the media was wrong. I was made welcome and managed to get around Tirana despite not knowing a word of the language. A challenge ? yes, but great fun. Certainly cheap but being honest I have to say the language barrier limited my experience.
Cash? I hardly used any. The country is not that nice. Very strange feel to it. Groceries were expensive, at least anything nutritional. €20 for a newer apartment in Durres is hard to beat

You are making Albania a Muslim country by showing all the mosques in the country. In fact Albania is a non religious country but for some unknown reason foreigners like to believe that is a Muslim one
Wrong. Statistics and fact show that 62% of Albania are muslims. Of course, the state is secular though. Albania were non-religious in Enver Hoxhas time, that's because of communism. Kosovo is 95% muslim, and albanians in Macedonia are 99% muslims. So you can basically assume that most Albanians are muslims.
@@Albaneren Which facts and statistics are you talking about? I know for fact that a very small minority practices any kind of religion, the majority of them don’t give a rats ass about religion. I live in this country and I know the reality better than anyone. According to the last census that was held in 2011, about 58% declared themselves as Muslims but that census was considered to be unreliable for many organizations including the Council of Europe.
@@MrYllipolar Lol, other statistics point out that muslims make up to 80%, including world christian factbook. You dont like muslims, and it burns your heart knowing that most albanians are muslims. And again; what people do (practices or not) is something you cannot measure, because that's a completely private thing. You see people drink rakija, and pray at home. You are not in a position to judge people, only God can.

Travellers in a hostel in Shkodra consistently sais that it was the best country to vsit because of the people , the scenery , the fresh food , the music , ...but to me it a place that you can just be ...many of the films footage is from Shkodra ...a great pace which is often used as a base to explore the mountains or to cross to Mali e Zi ...sitting watching the sun by the side of one of the lagoons is awesome ..love Patok
I Liv in Albania its nice fun the beach Is are Amazing go viste when you Want and viset Apollonia its somthing like a Museum

Congrats for your info!
Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoyed this video 🙏
Am visiting Greece soon
Beautiful new bans and the season is still going on. Who's crazy here !?
Thanks for this nice video. It's so well captured and presented. Good to know about all the important factors like what to eat, when to eat, and how to travel around. Thanks for the tip on carrying cash.. Greetings from Oman
Actually a fancy restaurant or hotel would cost around 170Euros breakfast and dinner included depends on what part of albania it is but southern albania is much expensive then the rest
As a albanian the most needed info was the one to carry cash , cause of pyramid schemes that is mentioned in vidio albanians are not really connected with banks 😂
Thanks for your feedback!
@Bill Smegma tell me another europian country to go on vacation that is cheaper than albania ?
@Bill Smegma are you serious ?
Oh come on those pyramid scenes were a puff, cash bc the few banks are rip off
Please is good for International Students from Africa to study Masters Program in Albania?
Very good video Short but informative.
Glad you liked it!
Albanian: Faleminderit per kta fjalet edhe mire dita/naten. English: Thank you for these words and good morning/night.
Good and informative video. Me and my wife with our 2 grand kids will visit Tirana in the end of November 2024😊
I will be traveling to Albania on October, see you soon Albania ❤️🔜
Lucky, I haven't been to my country Albania in 8 years
Have a wonderful time!
Welcome
Going to Tirana in April of 2022 to celebrate my birthday. Where can I buy beer? lol
Hope you have a great time there! There are plenty of great spots for nightlife in Tirana - perhaps check out Hemingway Bar and Bunker 1944.
The Bllok area that’s where the nightlife happens you even have an Irish bar there
Wow what an education you have given me!! Not much into foriegn holidays but I might make Albania an exception!! I'm from the UK and have only ever been abroad to America but this certainly does look great.
It is a very beautiful country and with the right management, it will become very rich.
@Nastro Adhesivo same was USA Italy....etc....people evolve and move on.

Albania is more safe than many EU country center and Albania is not selling drug from 2018 , soon there will be a cannabis legalisation but Albania has never sell weapons , since 1991 Albania was looking to build tourism and is predicted to have 9-10 milion tourist all the 2022 year to visit Albania in 2021 data tells that 6.4 mil foreigners enter Albania so tourism is increasing and the fact is when you will vist
Albania the antik country in world ❤️🦅❤️
Albania has come along way. Looks like an amazing place. Before 1991 it was known as the North Korea of Europe. Look forward to visiting.
since when was Albania North Korea , Belarus more like NK
@@shqip_sumejja Look at its past history under Xoxha. It was the most isolated country in Europe until 1991. It's sole ally was North Korea.
Thanks for sharing this guide.
Another nice video guys - well done.

Very helpful info! Thanks
I’m going next May to Tirana and visiting a friend in Pogradec ❤
We hope you have a lovely time! It is a great place to explore!
l'm a torist in Albania from Azerbaijan🇦🇿☺️ l spent 1 week here and l want to share my experiences about my ongoing vacation✨
Albania is a beautiful country with crystal clear waters and towering mountains as video says. Here’s my experience and a breakdown of the pros and cons of visiting this wonderful place.
Pros
1. Stunning Nature: The landscapes are breathtaking, with pristine beaches and majestic mountains.
2. Affordable Prices: The cost of traveling in Albania is low, making it budget-friendly.✨
3. Delicious Food: The local cuisine is satisfying, especially for someone from Azerbaijan, which is a country of various food culture, Albania offers flavors reminiscent of home.😋
4. Friendly People: The locals are generally welcoming and hospitable.😍
5. Quiet and Relaxing: It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the serene environment.
Cons
1. Stray Dogs: We came across aggressive stray dogs, which was a frightening experience. There were 11 of them, and they came out of the dark suddenly, like a horror movie. They started to jump and show their scary teeth. l haven't seen tags on their ears, so l freaked out... It’s advisable to be cautious, especially at night. l stopped a random car and jumped in to save my life🤦🏻♀️
2. Transportation: Public transport can be unreliable, and some tourist spots are not accessible by bus such as "Blue eye".(taxi id over 50-60€ from Sarande)
Renting a car is highly recommended to explore the country efficiently.
Recommendations
• Stay Alert: Be cautious of stray dogs and avoid walking alone at night in less populated areas.
Don't get put off by the negative comments from some people in the UK it's truly a wonderful country to visit
We love it but I appreciate everyone has different experiences and opinions!

I just came from my albanian 🇦🇱 4 weeks holiday and feel it wasn't enough
The country is stunning, it really has everything the whole planet 🌍 has in that just small country, from beautiful beaches to snowy alps and green lushness
My only concern is that the country's tourism has shot up recently and it may spoil it,.... otherwise it really lives up to the reputation as Maldives of Europe and Switzerland picks all in one
There is so much to do in Albania and there is never enough time!!!!
We agree! There are lots of great things to see and do here!
ive already been to albania, since i was a little kid actually. its all because my parents (both of them) are from there.
i also love the beaches there and one is close to my grandmas house in albania
Im going to albania in two three weeks,im going to durres vivas hotel, cant wait to see albania, seems great 😍 i wonder does they use euros beside albanian lek,can someone answer, thanks
We hope you have a great time! They do accept euro in Albanian too but not all smaller stores and sellers will
@@CreativeTravelGuide thank you so much,oh thats great, and awesome informative video👏
Yes, they use euros everywhere here.
How u like Dorres? They have a nice fish and pizza restaurant called Rehat Fish and Pizza
Yes they use euros but converting you money to LEK will be better and cheaper
Very Very nice information madam thanks for you
Albania the best
The Albanians. A great bunch of lads.
Welcome to Albania 😍😍
Hi there how are I'm going to Albania in this January
@@sm3675 So free that even European officials who run in Kosovo have no interest in doing enough for you to be able to travel without visas.
Hi!
I'm from Albania and I was born from Albania
I live in a small city of Albania named "Krume"
Prices are pretty cheap and there are a lot of friendly people
And our history started when we had a war when 🇹🇷Turkey wanted to make Albania not speak Albanian but Turkish
Beautiful video, love your video lot, please make video on Pakistan. Good luck
Thank you so much!
Estaré en Albania pronto!!
Im from albania and albania food is so goof
I’m planning a travel soon, glad to see positive comments on people welcoming and being kind. I’m just curious of people perspective with Hajab head scarf? Is there discrimination in this regard?
We haven’t ever seen discrimination here but that isn’t to say it doesn’t happen; I am sure you’ll be fine in popular tourist areas
If you go there listen me and try baklava just try it youre gona fall in love
Thanks for your suggesting!
My ferst time in Albanian 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hope you have fun!
Thank you 👍 🙃
You're welcome 😊
We are headed there for a honeymoon not really sure where we're going to stay
I hope you have fun. Visit Shkoder cuz its a beautiful small city 😁😁

I will visit maybe even Stay.
I'm not going to Albania my friend is I wanna see how it is like
I was there in 1996❤
We're going to Dublin
Cash? I hardly used any. The country is not that nice. Very strange feel to it. Groceries were expensive, at least anything nutritional. €20 for a newer apartment in Durres is hard to beat
ALBANIA STRONGEST COUNTRY
Hello am from philippines
Hi, I am thinking about traveling to Saranda via Corfu by ferry and staying for about 7 days. I was just wondering if I travel from Corfu to Saranda, do we need a PCR test(covid 19) to enter Albania and do I need one on my return to Corfu. The about going in September this year 2021
You don't need a covid test to go to Albania, but maybe you need one when you'll come back, it depends on the country
Not test from may 2022
Italys food : finally a worthy opponent
LOL over 60 percent Muslim.
Please leave religion out. We just want to know about the country's beauty. You can be what you want.
