Portuguese guy here and, as much as I’d love to have you find a home away from home here, I think you’ve made the right choice, because Portugal has become a lot less attractive for people in your situation, especially in those two items you mentioned. Albania is a beautiful country and absolutely deserving of the praise you lavish on it. Good luck over there, make the most of the experience!
I'm American, 70, and disabled. Been too poor to travel all my life. I've traveled through books, films, music, foods, and,of course, friends from all over the world. After last Tuesday I'm committed to figuring out a way to get out of Dodge. Albania is looking like the best option.
Nobody is too poor to travel, it's just about priorities and what we spend our money on. I saved for whole year once to go on holiday because it was something I really wanted.
What's not mentioned is the poverty that Albanians live ,hoping to some place better. There is no health care and no freebies from the government . I am right now in Albania. I am touring Eastern Europe, but sorry, the cost of living may be slightly lower, but no thanks you. I am glad to have th US Don't believe the crap this woman is taking
im an albanian and you have no idea how many people from albania want to go to america, and seeing you come here is so cool haha! people here are not realising how beautiful our country is, and don’t see its values and wanna leave. im really happy for you! 🫶🏻
I'm an American who came here almost 2 years ago. I ended up deciding to live here for alot of the same reasons (American culture was changing for the worse, great location to travel all around Europe, Albanian culture and the people are amazing, Tirana is very easy to get used to and navigate) All of my friends are Albanian, I don't associate with other expats. I find Albanians to be more sincere and friendly and I've got friends here I call family. So I'm grateful for the reception since deciding to live here. I now just married to an Albanian woman. The people here truly do value tradition, family, and just core values I find highly respectable and refreshing. Albanian has officially become my 2nd home and I'm beyond blessed I gave it a chance. If you have any questions or would like to speak with another American and my Albanian wife for any info reach out. I've got a friend for just about everything, and if they can't help surely they have a cousin that can. 😂 Cheers and welcome.
My partner and I (we are retired) are planning to visit Albania in February/March for a month. This will be our "look see" to determine where we might want to reside permanently. We will be bringing our 15 lb dog and are looking (online, currently) for "pet friendly" lodging for the month (maybe longer) that we will be there. We don't want something in a "city center", as we prefer something a bit quieter, but still walkable, and near an indoor pool (for working out). So far I have found Durres with their huge sports center, but I'm not finding a lot of lodging - can you recommend where to look for this online/other? I want to have everything set up before we arrive, so we can rent a car and drive to the place that we will be staying, as it will be a long travel from western U.S. - thanks!
@@Cunat121 We don't want to be in the center of a City (noise) but would like to be near enough for amenities, including the use of a swimming pool for daily workouts. I have found the Vesta Sports Center in Durres and am now looking for a dog friendly place that is within a mile so that we can walk over
@@karlaelvis9815 Your best bets are Tirana and Durres which you have already found, most places are dog friendly so I don’t think that should be an issue especially because of the hospitality of locals, I could ask one of my cousins if he has any places free but most are in city centres so no interest to you. Continue searching the internet and you should be able to find one
I love this! Albania has been on my radar for a while, so I’m thrilled to see this video. Thank you for highlighting awareness of the local situation and ways to support the community-it’s something that’s often overlooked. I’m excited to follow your experiences in Albania and hope to plan my own trip there someday!
Full of history, ignore saying Greek, Roman or ottoman empire history, it is all Illyrian history. Illyrians ruled the Europe. Every single town has a castle, the most friendly people in the Europe. Food is not all my choice but turist will love it different type of food, pleanty of adventures such climbing, sea whatsoever you like it.
LOVE this! I also left America for Japan this year and the quality of life is AMAZING compared to life in the states. My friends from back home watch my yt vids and they're like 'wow, you go out so much more out there' uhh yeah, because the quality of life is better LOL other than family and friends, the only thing I miss is WingStop 😭

Hi Abigail 💕 good luck with your move. I am Albanian that emigrated in the US 30+ years ago. I feel it’s time for me to move back. Can’t wait to see how this move will unfold for you…
Hi Abigail, I am amazed for your decision to move to my city I was born and raised….There are great restaurants if you like to eat out or if you love to cook, some great fresh fruits and vegetable markets / locally….. I had a great summer vocation in 2024…. Will go back again in 2025… we usually visit Durres beach/ Adriatik Hotel ….. great seafood in that area top notch / grilled octopus / shrimps - karkaleci,,, steak- biftek vici etc…. You seem smart and know what you are looking for in a place you can call home…. You will learn the Albanian - Shqip language…. It may take time… but once you know the locals, they will be friends with you…good luck.
girl, I am so happy for you & I love this!!!! I moved to Spain about 7 years ago; it was the best decision ever. Safe travels and I hope you enjoy Albania!!!
Hi Abigail! New subscriber here...I'm really glad I came across your channel and I am relocating to Thailand on January 2, 2025 on a retirement visa. I am so proud of my African-American sisters who are going out and seeing what the world has in store for them. You made a very good point in regards to foreigners over-paying for rents and other services and making it harder for the locals as well as actively trying to patronize local vendors. Keep up the good work!
Hi. Just found your channel. I'm a native New Yorker moving to Tirana 11/22/24. Been there twice already and it reminds me of a mini NYC. Cost too much too live in US now. I've been to europe 5 times and will live out my life there. Hope to meet up soon. Mario
Cool, I recommend you to see breathtaking places in Albania, Albania is an ancient country with stunning landscapes and has a stunning history, hidden from Europe.
I left the US 6 yrs ago. I'll be 66 this winter. Most rents in the US were more than my SS income. Not listening to the constant political discord, shootings, racism, extreme cost of living is HUGE for ones mental health.
You have my full sympathy! My situation ist rather similar here in Berlin, Germany: 68yo, a monthly pension of 850 Euros, most rents are equal or even higher. Currently I live in with old friends or my seperated wife. Been to almost 80 countries during those cheap days during 70s, 80s and 90s, when working one month in Germany could pay for 6 months in India, including air fare. These days are over. 😮 Do you know a place where our retirement benefits are sufficient?
Albania's stunning landscapes and rich culture are truly mesmerizing. Proud to see our beauty shining for the world to see! I recommend you to visit porto palermo, an beautiful castle, kruje, the museum of skanderbeg, gjirokaster, an beautiful famous city with an beautiful fortress and has an beautiful old town, apollonia & butrint where the ancient archeological parks are, dhermi, an famous village with idyllic landscape and has old buildings, which is very beautiful, you should visit the Albanian alps, which are very beautiful, visit voskopoje, visit korce with beautiful old town, visit velipoje, visit the theth national park, I am not forcing you, I want to recommend you, I want you to see breathtaking places in Albania. Hope you have a great live, greetings from an kosovar albanian person👍
I'm a woman from the UK and I've been thinking about moving to Albania for the last couple of years as I've visited many times and love the people and their sense of fun. After seeing your videos I've finally decided to do it in June 2025- wish me luck! 😁
about 200 Brits live in Albania for many years, Albania and Kosova are pro west and they welcome any west ppl, dont forget in Albania is easy to buy property and payment are cheap, thas way 93% of Albanian own their property
I just spent three weeks traveling throughout Albania as part of a longer Balkans trip. The country blew me away! I was already thinking about it as a longer-term stay option, and now with the election results …
I was in England doing a 2 month house sit when Albania came on my husband's radar. He was looking at all these Albania videos made by a guy from Texas. He moved there 6 months ago. We are checking out Albania after our house sit in Mexico.
Some people are saying gen z in Europe are more conservative and right-wing then Americans but its mainly due to illegal immigrants destroying some European cities and way of life. So that makes sense. I’d still choose Europe over America due to better quality of life. I am also conservative myself so i got happy that a lot of young Europeans are also conservative
Won't it be nice NOT to have an opinion about politics but rather where to get a good cup of coffee... Hope you make the right choice for you and enjoy.
Congratulations on finding your own little piece of paradise! I left NYC for Vienna, Austria over 20 years ago and I'm LOVING every second of it! You're absolutely right, the US has become unlivable and many Americans don't seem aware that there's a higher quality of life outside the US. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey...
There is also piece of paradise in Africa for Africans. Literally you don't have to see fat americans or europeans like me, which I know is a lot of African's dreams
I was looking at Albanian too, but I had some questions about the trains and the connection to the rest of Europe. So I started looking at Bulgaria.. originally like you i was looking at Portugal then switched to Spain.. but I want to live below my means so I can travel too. I live off my disabled Veteran pay. Glad I found your channel. Good luck 🙌
@aubreylynn8751 they are supposed to.. technically we should be able to get them on the moon. I think we still get them even if we become a citizen of another country.
There are no trains in Albania anymore, the main means of travelling is via buses/cars, and flying. Connections to Europe via flights are pretty good, and fairly inexpensive.
Please can you discuss: 1. How to research long stay rentals and estate agents recommendations 2. Getting around the city by public and taxis. 3. Is there Amazon? 4. Opening a bank account 5. Night life Thank you
Albanian here i live in the NY rentals work online just find a realtor Public transport isent any good theres buses and taxis but other than that railway is only for goods No there is no amazon whats worse is if you try to buy somthing online the tax is like as much as the package itself Opening bank account id go with opening one in germany then using that in albania Nightlife is we have nightclubs but usually everyone sticks to theyre own social groups its not like i uaa
I spent December in Albania, it was dead, empty, boring and an eye sore. I hated it and questioned why I vacationed there. It’s kind of boring if you’re from a big city. People nice, but food, is a hell no. Boring plain Balkan food. Go to Greece go to Italy, go to Spain or Portugal. Albania is not comparable
I currently live in Poland and the temporary residence permit wait is so long! I've been waiting a year to hear anything from them, so you definitely made a good decision by just living in Albania.
The thing that bothers me so much about travel influencers / digital nomad folk is when they go to a poor country and practically brag about how cheap everything is and how they can move there and have such a great quality of life, while completely neglecting the fact that that is only the case for them because of their privilege of being from America or some other country with access to high paying jobs. I really really appreciate you taking the time to mention that this is not the experience of the locals. It's honestly such a breath of fresh air that you not only mentioned it, but that you included several things people can do to support the locals. Best of luck to you, and I hope Albania is everything you want it to be :) And definitely visit the beaches when you have a chance. Korce is a lovely little city that can't be missed, go to the nearby village of Voskopoj in the winter and try the wild rabbit. Permet is amazing in the Spring. I would go there to eat the pule fshati me rosnica or their homemade jams and bread. The river is so pretty, and there are hot springs nearby. Theth and Lumi i Shalës are musts in the summer. Have fun!
@@theladywhotravels Hi! Im an Albanian and im so happy that you are moving to our country! To answer your question the hot springs are near Permet but they are in a small village called Bënjë. They are so cool since i have been there personally. They are a tourist attraction and very much deserved, they are soooo warm and cozy, its a great destination. (tip: if u wanna go there i beg you to get a rental car or preferably get a tour guide. It would be so nice to meet you since im also pretty close in Tirana. Have a nice time living here
Guess what? I'm Albanian, I don't like to see black people, especially when they come to be seen as if they are special or some relics. I feel the vomit of your mop hair dreadlocks. Albanians have fought for 4000 years various empires with much territorial loss, and then you came for us just to see you as if it was some human expo. that's narcissistically irritating behavior. What's so special about you that we should see you over our own people or even neighbors? We are not yet brainwashed like the western Europe and USA whites to think white culture is trash. It's not, in fact its the best, if you ever come to think of it, that's why everyone moves to where Europeans live.
You're awesome. So nice that you understand the salary difference and not just brag about how cheap everything is. You wanting to try and be an asset instead of only thinking of yourself. First time seeing you. Best wishes to you!
Thank you for this video! I'm about to head back to Canada but am planning to head back to Europe for as long as I can. Albania has been at the top of my list and now I'm going to start researching more. ❤
We love Albania! We have visited three times (Tirana March, Durres June, Tirana November) in 2024 and always look here first to take holidays. We are two Americans who live in the Netherlands. Eindhoven Airport offers direct and cheap flights to Albania, so it's the perfect getaway spot for us. Our favorite pizza spot in Tirana is Pizza Seni. It's tucked away from the busy streets, but we love the people and atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit! Enjoy Albania
You should visit Korça!! It’s beautiful, there’s good food also because that’s where I’m from 😭 But also u should visit Vlore it’s so beautiful there the oceans are so beautiful and it’s so so beautiful there
Oh too bad to hear, since the intense smoking everywhere in public areas and beaches is a big reason I can’t see myself living in Greece even though it’s one of my favorite countries.
The best part about Albanian is the welcoming culture. Great job describing the reality on the ground. It is not all rainbows and roses but overall it’s a good place to live. The publicity from your videos will definitely benefit Albanians.

Never ...ever..move somewhere just because everybody else is moving there...go where you all loved...go where you have your peace...happy to see my sisters moving just because they want better options for living life...I'm a new subscriber...I will be watching your journey
We've been hearing so many good things about Albania! As Americans who left the States 2.5 years ago, we totally understand your reasons for leaving. Thanks for sharing your perspective with us. 🥰
Oh absolutely, shop local, and avoid the big supermarkets where foreigners tend to go. We don’t buy our produce, bread and meats there generally. If it’s looking pretty and packed nicely, it costs double and it’s not even local or organic. Discover the farmers markets, that’s where the best cheeses, olives, fruits and vegetables are. And they are dirt cheap and so much tastier. Don’t make this foreign German and Italian supermarket chains richer, help that local farmer survive.
Hello, so glad I found your channel, I’m a remote work planning my escape from the US and I really had my heart set on Thailand or Portugal but after seeing multiple videos of people exploring Albania I think my mind is made up! 😌
@deafheart23 when do you think you will go?? I am going to Thailand for a year but think Albania might seriously be my next stop! For all of the reasons in this video. Either Albania or Paraguay!
@@SEOshogun I was in Thailand last year. It's great but Albania is slightly cheaper and less visa issues. Thailand has increased in housing due to tourism coming back and making up for what they lost during the pandemic.
During my “let’s explore the Balkans” wanderlusting moment a hundred years ago (though not really, cause I’m not that old 😅) I visited Albania many times and learned the languages a bit though not well. I will say this though, share the countries beauty and culture, though when you happen upon a hidden gem keep that so secret. The country’s beaches were in a Lonely Planet list years ago and people from other European countries started flocking to them which stressed the infrastructure at the time. Learn about Besa, speak Albanian as often as you can, find friends, and be discerning if and when you decide to date (tell them you plan on staying in Albania forever and see if their interest is still there). Have fun! 🎉
Fabulous country. I spent a few months there in 2021, and plan on returning next month. Each city is unique; worth seeing as many as you can. Excited to see the pyramid; it was under re-construction when I was there.
I'd love to see videos about you learning the Albanien language! As a language learner, definitely try and listen to as much as you can! You're brain will pick up patterns!
What a great video! I really appreciated the fact that you informed us how to support the local culture. I moved to Mexico for years ago and I'm now thinking about Eastern Europe. Thank you for your work!
The balkans as a whole have been slept on as a travel destination (mostly due to recent tragic history) - I lived in a balkan country for 3 years and I miss the food and people and nature ❤ hoping one day I can return to live there again 🤞
Definitely amazing 👏 Wishing to you a very and attractive time. All your saying are true ,it sounds so beautiful hearing your emotions from far distance. I miss being there. Have a wonderful time and best of the luck to you.
As you go West to East in Europe the tolerance and acceptance for minorities/people of color go down drastically no matter what your passport says. I wish you good luck though, you'll find out more about your new host country over time.
$1 USD got 106 Albanian Lek in December of 2022, on my first stint there. Now it's at around 93 Lek to $1. Rent prices have also increased a lot in just the past two years and will continue to go up. Renters must also fork over 3.5 months up front to move in. That's a lot considering that landlords in Albania can be unscrupulous and there's no guarantee at all that a renter wouldn't have all kinds of drama with their landlord. That said, the food is good in Albania and it's still cheaper, for the time being, than major metro areas in the U.S.
As someone who traveled extensively before, we gotta stop glamorizing nomadic lifestyle. Frequently traveling is brutal… cultural and language barriers can be stressful. Constantly navigating new cultural, customs and communication issues takes its toll, especially if you’re in places where you don’t speak the language fluently. Also, Travel burnout is real. The constant packing, planning, and adjusting can wear down even the most adventurous spirit I’m so glad I stopped the nomadic lifestyle and came back home. I missed my family.
I can agree with this, it can be exhausting. But she seems to be looking for a new home base first. Then travel for leisure as she feels from there. That takes a huge load off of constant planning and packing. She'll get adjusted over time to Albania or wherever she ends up choosing.
Im from Albania and i can 100% day that Albania is a great place to live even though the language is hard but u will master it eventually and love the place
Hi Abigail. I suggest you listen to their music like Shqip pop music. Artists like Dafina Zeqiri, Butrint Imeri, 2ton,, Capital T, Rina etc... Even though you may not understand the language, It will help you understand their music & culture. Thank you Abigail
I've booked my flight; hostel stays and speaking with a real estate agent. Found apartments ranging between 150 euros to 350 per month through them. I will be signing a lease in January once I arrive. Looking forward to calling Albania my new home.
You should definitely learn the language as one it is ancient and one of the oldest in the world and two ! You should become a TV host in Albania, you would be great with your open mindset that you give off ! Your vibe is great !
Thank you so much for sharing your relocation journey with us! Are you in the capital city of Albania and would you say it’s a safe place to live? Low crime rate? Political unrest? Lastly, I would love to know more about working as a travel/digital creator or working remotely.
I'm an Albanian who lives abroad. I have visited a lot of cities in Europe and I can really say that Albania is the safest country I have ever gone to. This is because there is a strong sense of community. I cannot leave my car unattended in the middle of Berlin because someone will scratch it, hit and run, steal my wheels or worse. In Tirana, this never happens. The only downside is high car traffic tho.
Wolcome, and enjoy your stay. If I had to recommend a place to visit it would be Shkodër, my home city. It is a very walkable city, a lot of beautiful bars, the largest lake in Southern Europe and a stunning old castle, the "Rozafa" castle which was built in the 3rd-4th century BC, before the Romans conquered the land.
It's still warm in the south this time of the year! I took at dip in Ksamil on December 2020, so you can totally enjoy the beaches! Less tourists now too 😉 I miss Albania 🫶
2:33 ok, um, as an immigrant to France, not an expat, a full on immigrant (I'm originally from California), the Portuguese process for obtaining a permanent visa (there really is no such thing as a permanent visa or residency in any European country, just different kinds of long-term residencies, and yes, usually, when you receive the highest long-term visa, usually a 10 year visa, it's easy to just keep renewing it over and over again if you don't pursue nationality) I think is quite reasonable, like really reasonable, because here in France it can be quite a lot of work to obtain a 10 year residency, like for me, I entered France on a spouse visa, if you enter on a spouse or family visa in France it's ONLY for one year, and you have a lot of appointments and language tests and classes like language and civics and documents that need to be filed in that first year, and if you don't get it done you might not be ale to renew or you can only renew for a single year visa again, if you do get it all done your next visa is ONLY for 2 years, and you have to take another language test within those 2 years before you can apply for the 10 year visa, and then there can be admin problems where you have to wait a long long time to receive said visa, like for me between my 2 year and my 10 year visas, I was in immigration limbo for 8 months and couldn't leave the country. I understand if you say a digital nomad things like that may seem unbearable, but you do realize that visas for the US are similar in some ways, if you get a spouse visa for the US, from what I understand you can't leave the country for a year. That being said, Albania seems like it's a good choice because it's a developing European country that is looking for new talent. Be aware though of their culture and history, it's good to brush up on that kind of stuff, because even in recent history they've had a lot of struggles. I have a cousin that lived in Albania back in the 90s for a bit, and had to be pulled out because of a civil war that started there around that time. Also, Albania is a mostly muslim country, many in that area of Europe are actually, they aren't fully muslim, less than half the population are muslim, and they aren't a muslim state, but that is the predominant religion, if you have a problem with that it might not be the country for you
@@aeolia80 Kind of the same here in Czech Republic. I'm from Cali also, came to the EU on spouse visa. My spouse is Czech. After 2 yrs can apply for perm residency- there is a language test with that- B1, but they are "considering" making it B2. The Perm Res is 10 yrs. Non -spouse immigrants have to wait till after 10 yrs to apply for citizenship, spouses can apply from the 2 yr to 7 yr (after their Temp) depending on their circumstances.
I’ve noticed so many Americans moving over to live in Albania recently. I hope you enjoy living there and that you made the right decision. I hope to do this too….move somewhere in a village in the south where life is simple.
Thank for the the tips on helping to support the local industries. I'm planning now to move to 🇮🇹 Italy in August 2025 for my Masters at University of Padova from USA. I found your channel as I was looking into Albania as a place to go to. I used to live in Asia and have been back in Canada for 3 years now and this isn't for me. I feel stuck. It's so hard to connect with people here. When people talk about something that happened "last year" you can kind of understand but when you tell a story .."That reminds me this one time in China..." People's eye just glaze over... it's so hard to re intergrate.. also the cost of travelling here is insane! As a Canadian I can only do 90 days in Albania so currently looking into finding fully remote work (Currently the company I work for only offers hybrid) and once that's sorted... I will look into the residence permit for a year in Albania. I was a little worried about just yolo and go there.. lol
This is awesome! We are planning to move to Europe asap. Would love to hear about the visa process or lack thereof for the year stay in Albania! Can’t wait for more videos.
There is no visa process. By having a US passport, qualifies you for a one year visa free stay. If you want another year, you'll have to leave Albania for 90 days. Upon returning to Albania after your 90 day exit, you'll have another visa free year.
As an American, I can double down on the smart decision not completing the VISA application with Portugal. I wish I was as fortunate. I got stuck in the country for 8 months waiting for my residency approval and card to be delivered. It was such a painful waiting game that I left the country for good less than 2 months after the residency was approved. I hope you enjoy Albania.
you seem like the most considerate, thoughtful expat. i will definitely be taking your words into consideration in a few years when i make my way to europe finally. i want to get PSLF before i move.

I'm American, 70, and disabled. Been too poor to travel all my life. I've traveled through books, films, music, foods, and,of course, friends from all over the world.
After last Tuesday I'm committed to figuring out a way to get out of Dodge. Albania is looking like the best option.
What happened last Tuesday?
Nobody is too poor to travel, it's just about priorities and what we spend our money on. I saved for whole year once to go on holiday because it was something I really wanted.

im an albanian and you have no idea how many people from albania want to go to america, and seeing you come here is so cool haha! people here are not realising how beautiful our country is, and don’t see its values and wanna leave. im really happy for you!
- thanks!

@@karlaelvis9815 Your best bets are Tirana and Durres which you have already found, most places are dog friendly so I don’t think that should be an issue especially because of the hospitality of locals, I could ask one of my cousins if he has any places free but most are in city centres so no interest to you. So you must have to move every few months, right?

There are no trains in Albania anymore, the main means of travelling is via buses/cars, and flying. Connections to Europe via flights are pretty good, and fairly inexpensive.
Please can you discuss:
1. How to research long stay rentals and estate agents recommendations
2. Getting around the city by public and taxis.
3. Is there Amazon?
4. Opening a bank account
5. Night life

What do you do for work?
Have fun! 🎉

Enjoy it my friend. Albania is a beautiful country. With love from Kosova.
The constant packing, planning, and adjusting can wear down even the most adventurous spirit
I’m so glad I stopped the nomadic lifestyle and came back home. I missed my family.
I can agree with this, it can be exhausting. But she seems to be looking for a new home base first. Then travel for leisure as she feels from there. That takes a huge load off of constant planning and packing. She'll get adjusted over time to Albania or wherever she ends up choosing.

As a Canadian I can only do 90 days in Albania so currently looking into finding fully remote work (Currently the company I work for only offers hybrid) and once that's sorted... I will look into the residence permit for a year in Albania. I was a little worried about just yolo and go there.. lol
Im Albanian and im so happy you tried Albania out❤
Can you let us know your experience as a black woman? I'm interested in visiting, and I'm curious to know how it is.
@@saml849 Thank you!! 🙌🏻
I'm so sorry that happened, that sounds awful!
you seem like the most considerate, thoughtful expat. i will definitely be taking your words into consideration in a few years when i make my way to europe finally. i want to get PSLF before i move.
Thank you for your channel Abigail. Your informative vlog about not damaging Albanian economy by over-paying is very helpful. My husband and I just retired and are coming to Tirana in January. We look forward to really spending time touring around Albania and the surrounding countries and the EU. We aren't interested in living in a palace as our budget is fixed. Just a regular life amongst friendly people.
6:47 A video on it and freelance would be amazing !
It's up on the channel now!
Welcome to Albania I’m an Albanian left Albania in 1997 it was mess then a political turbulence so I was considered lucky to move out and I live in Michigan since 1997. I’m regretting though Albania Tirana my hometown has changed drastically. I was construction engineering and in USA did work all jobs to survive went back to school and I work in medical field. I’m close to retiring age and that’s my plan to come back even it’s a little difficult cause of children behind. But you live in the moment and you take decisions based on the circumstances. Welcome to Albania. Life is more enjoyable there I mean the social life but of course has challenges as everywhere. Ppl are amazing friendly you can get by with English Italian and other languages. There is land of lake foundation, ivanaj American women as well and others you might get in touch with you can get info. Again welcome to Albania ❤
Awe you are adorable! You just did it!
I want to live in another country, but I am scared. I have a house and I am retired and set in a very secure routine.
But I think I would love Albania! Thanks for this video.
I believe a black guy was attacked in Greece a few years ago which really turned off a lots black travelers, when I saw how close Albania was to Greece I was like Oh no!
Yeah, nothing about the elephant in the room. Places like this and Eastern Europe concern me with the lack of diversity.
@@cherylparker1448 That sounds very close minded. Eastern Europe is overflowing with diversity! Certainly not the lack of it.
Hi, Abigail I was just researching Albania and came across your video. I've been preparing to exit the US and went through the same thoughts and processes re Portugal and Mexico. I am now seriously considering a visit to Albania in mid-January
Thanks for your videos.

I’m so happy to see people who aren’t Albanian enjoy my beautiful country it brings a tear to my eye, I’m glad that you are loving Albania so far and hope it stays like that for as long as you live there, I left Albania with my family for USA for a better life ofc and you’d know why Albanians would move from Albania if they had the chance you also touched it a little in this video but I miss my country so much and seeing other people love it and say nice things about it is so refreshing to hear. Thank you so much for this video much love to you❤
As an eastern european, I'm a bit worried. It's a very patriarchal society. Fatphobia and racism is prevalent. Obviously other countries have these issues too. It's a beautiful place and I hope you settle in smoothly.
