Hey Chris, I just got a Sofirn HS21 headlamp - very impressed! 2200 lumens, flood/spot/mix/red, rotary mode dial, great level spacing inc moonlight (kinda), buck driver! The high CRI flood is so nice, really easy on the eyes first thing in the morning. There's a couple of reviews up, check it out matey!
@@MrSimonj1970 Hey mate, yea I will give it a look it sounds interesting, I have so many headlamps i own like 6 of the D25 headlamps lol. Headlamps are so handy I use them when working on the car and when soldering actually most DIY work, and also fishing, so many uses.
Did it come with the 3 volt driver or did you change it from the driver it came with. And if you did where did you order the 3 volt driver from. I can change drivers easily im old school lol. I just need to know where to get it if I do have to change it. Good video. I enjoyed it.
@@TerryWhite001 Hey the driver is the 20mm 5amp driver from Convoy but I bridged the sense resistor on the driver to get extra power, I have a video on how to do that if you are interested., You can probably fit the 22mm 12amp driver from convoy in the M21A you just have to sand the PCB back a tad that should perform similar. I am releasing a video soon on the 6v XHP50.3-HI I used the Convoy 17mm boost driver for that test and it performs well.
@everydaysurvivalgear Are you sure the SFT70 is meant to compete with the XHP70? because if I look at the documentation the SFT70 looks more like the XHP50 than the XHP70
@HyugaGenza kind of as the SFT-70 is a big single die LED and is the same size as the XHP70, they are both 7070 foot print but the XHP50/ XHP70 is 4 LEDs dies in one so it performs better output wise. The SFT series should throw better than the XHP series for that reason.
@@everydaysurvivalgear After doing a quick search by double checking the SFT70 datasheet and reading the SFT70 test on the BLF forum I am now 100% sure that the SFT70 is a 5050 led with 4 leds which makes it more like the XHP50.3 HI than the larger XHP70.3 HI
@HyugaGenza I just read the data sheet yea you are right, it's a 5050 LED that has 4 dies. The SFT-40 is also a 5050 foot print but a single die, I have never tested a SFT-70, No idea why it's named the SFT-70 but it's a 5050 foot print some LEDs are bigger than the footprints they sit on.

@everydaysurvivalgear thanks very much.
How does it compare to the SFT70?
Hey, I am not sure as I have never tested the SFT-70. The SFT-70 is made to compete with the XHP70 not the XHP50. .
