BBF! (budget bonanza flashlights) I like it. Been eyeing that x29 for a while now, looks good for modding, but not sure if it has a shelf. Thanks for the review and teardown. Got a sub just for this kinda stuff
Thanks, It might be hard to get a driver to fit because of the placement of the switch, if you only want to mod the led it will be okay but I'm yet to get a driver to work.
@@hisokaf6793 yea it's just the reflector holding the LED in place. You should be able to make an e-switch driver work but you might have to glue the switch in place. Alonefire has a model up from this one that might be worth checking out.
Nah not yet, i put a Samsung LH315D in it and i broke the lens when tightening the bezel, i have to find a 14mm lens. Fasttech use to sell all that stuff now they are gone.
I got one of these from Temu (in Australia) and have to say it is the cheapest and crappiest build quality torch I have ever picked up. The Olight S1R should have 2 turbo modes that both last 90 seconds before stepping down to 300 lumens, almost the same as max on the X29, so potentially a stuffed battery not holding a charge?
Nah the S1R has been that way since I had it, I've tried different batteries it doesn't help it's a driver issue. I reviewed it in maybe 2018 I think. Mine would have been one of the first released lights and others had the same issues with the early models. As for the X29 it's under 10 USD for the price it's decent, if i went to Bunnings and spent $10 I wouldn't get anything close to the X29. Besides the driver, it's not to bad for the price lots of lights in this price won't have a proper shelf for the LED. I review budget lights mainly so I could be easily pleased lol
@@everydaysurvivalgear that's unfortunate about the S1R :( I really liked my S1R Baton II but the batterylife with the higher output sucked. Oh you won't get much better for the money, especially not at bunnings. Closest thing is the $10 AUD Stanley 350 lumen but it's got to be 4 times the size 😂
Looks pretty good for it’s size. I’ve just received the X86 and it’s a brilliant little torch.
Here in the Manila, Philippines. its only $6 just got mine today....😊

Yeah the driver looks tight. Is the mcpcb held down by the reflector? I plan to bodge an attiny13 in with an e switch firmware and a small fet.

I need this piece
Any luck on finding a better driver?
