3:34 I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. Super Punch-Out was one of my favorite arcade games. THIS song was one of the best in video games!
Wow. This kind of digitized speech synthesis is REALLY good for its time in 1983. Long sentences, lots of speech, and all in a decent quality, one year BEFORE Atari's System 1 & 2 (which also had speech synthesis, starting with Paperboy). The game too with the sprite scaling! It's smoother than even SEGA and Namco's arcade games at the time.
This is why i wondered why home consoles did not have an strong aspect of arcades (Arcades were the king of quality) I know the neo geo home arcade console exists
The way I remember the game on the nes and snes and wii systems bald bull ain’t going down that easy and the sandman damn sure ain’t going down on no second knockdown

MAME-RR? I gave it a try, but how you are suposted to do the slow-motions? Or there is no option for that?
TASes are made to demonstrate programmable optimization skills, not to "impress" anyone. Some games showcase it better than other and this isn't one of them. If you were already biased towards traditional speed-running, then you already had your answer from the start.
No way. NES has more variety of fighters but back in the day this was an arcade game and the NES was home console. Home consoles weren't even close to looking or sounding as good. This held true until xbox/ps1 era
Donkey Kong is in the audience...probably contemplating a possible career in this sport.
Glass Joe was at the height of his career here. Rank NUMBER 9 in the world.

The speedrun
you can't say someone is "down for the count" when you haven't started counting
Well, they have to be down before you can start counting...
@@therealxoc yes, "down for the count" means that you finished the count and they were down for the whole time
And then after Scott Bakula won the World Championship and the Title Belt everyone hoped the next leap would be the one that gets him home.
This guy referees these bouts like he's got somewhere else to be

it should include any loops that change how you play the game. I know there's at least one, but I haven't been able to get beyond that.
