As someone who worked at red lobster, the box is pretty accurate, water works fine just add like 1/8 cup more water,
the difference is they use liquid butter with the garlic mix, and we dump a lot of it on the biscuits, and it works better by mixing it with a gloved hand instead of spatula, and use a ice cream scooper to get the biscuits amount right 👍

I remember her telling a friend about adding more cheese and using buttermilk, because she couldn't get it to taste quite like there's, but after that tweek, it worked. Lol! biscuits:
    2 cups flour
    1 tablespoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
    2 teaspoon sugar
    1 cup shred cheddar cheese
    1 cup milk
1 stick room temp butter cut up
baste: 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt and 1/4 stick butter melted
the temp of rhe butter is key, if it's cooler you get a flakier biscuit, if it's half melted you get a creamier busicuit. room temp is the perfect middleground.

Also bake bacon real crispy, chop it up and add it into the bowl before mixing. Using a 1/4th cup to form the biscuit helps.

I work at RL it's 1 cup of cheese per bag, but the store bags are a quarter the size of the bags we get from the supplier.

There is a spice called the blend...at Walmart...use it in the biscuits. Done. It will taste exactly the same. Also, add butter to the batter.

What makes the different is the clarified butter instead of water or butter milk. Bisquick, cheddar cheese, and clarified butter. Fattening but good.

An additional thing to make them less than diet compliant. Take the melted butter from the recipe, but instead of at the end try this instead. About halfway through take the melted butter right from the microwave to the stove and, using a turkey baster, squirt every bit of that butter onto the biscuits. Be quick so you don't lose too much heat. Then when they are done use the same amount of butter - yes that's double the butter in the recipe - and turkey baste the biscuits again before they cool. Take your time the second time so you can be thorough. Salted butter is better.

I worked at Red Lobster, water works fine but remember to Also grate your own cheese, (Def add at least double what they say) not the pre shredded kind, and butter tops HEAVILY. Do it before, during and immediately after. Let sit 5 min before serving so it soaks in real good. U shouldn't have any leftover garlic butter afterwards🙂

I usually made my own with bisquick added all my herbs and butter in the dough. Then i'd melt butter, add garlic and herbs to it and once out oven add the mixture to the top! They never make it next day they were demolished!! 😊

Thank you, Jordan! I've actually never been to a Red Lobster, but I've both made the biscuits from the mix and gotten the new premade frozen ones. Neither has impressed me with the amount of cheesiness, so I was thinking that the next time I make them, I would definitely up the cheese. Now I know by how much, and to use buttermilk! 👍👍

Also at Red Lobster they brush the biscuits with clarified butter. You can make clarified butter by melting it in a cup, cool it in the fridge until the fat is floating on top & take the fat off.
