the good thing is, that keeps him safe. every restaurant wants to shut him up but none of the restaurants want any other restaurant to get to him and learn their secrets.
Maybe he's gained a friend in the staff of RL restaurants tho - most other chains end up becoming 5x busier after his secrets. This sounds like it'll keep people at Trader Joe's instead of in the Lobster
If this man gets man assassinated like Kennedy,2pac,mlk, and biggie small then know it was either the government or a united front restaurant businesses for exposing secrets
As someone who worked at red lobster, the box is pretty accurate, water works fine just add like 1/8 cup more water, the difference is they use liquid butter with the garlic mix, and we dump a lot of it on the biscuits, and it works better by mixing it with a gloved hand instead of spatula, and use a ice cream scooper to get the biscuits amount right 👍
Also worked there and yeah you're right. If I remember correctly it was 1 1/2 or 2 cups per batch which (forgive me this was nearly 10 years ago) I think was 28 biscuits. The "butter" (i think it was called whirl) plus garlic topping is why they're so good.
I don’t even live in America, so we don’t get a lot of the foods discussed here (Australian) but I am addicted to your videos, and the cone here 😂 You should absolutely do audio books brother - you have such a great timbre and cadence to your voice
If you don't have buttermilk, you can easily substitute by adding 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to a liquid measuring cup, then topping off with regular milk to reach 1 cup. Let it sit for 10 minutes or so, and you've got a thick buttermilk substitute.
All I will say is thank you for not warning me how much better the biscuits are when home cooked from these alterations. The surprise was fantastic. Also thanks for the tip.
I followed his instructions and folks it was life changing! My whole family devoured them. I also tried it with a dollop of sour cream to the batter. Yes it's amazingly good!❤
My Mom made these when I was little all the time. She had somehow figured this out, and made them exactly like this. I remember her telling a friend about adding more cheese and using buttermilk, because she couldn't get it to taste quite like there's, but after that tweek, it worked. Lol! She could taste a lot of things and figure out how to make them. I always thought it was such a neat talent, but maybe it's just something I've never been able to do, and everyone else can. Either way, I love this memory of her and i hadn't thought about it in a long time. ❤
As a former employee of Red Lobster I can attest this is true. It’s not just an absurd amount of cheese, but a ridiculous amount of butter as well. One time I commented on how much cheese and butter we used to my general manager and he said, “yeah, you’re pretty much better off smoking crack” 😂
Cheddar Bay Biscuits. 2 cups bisquick, 1 1/2 cup shredded cheese 1 cup buttermilk. Mix until just comes together Using 2 tablespoons drop dough on a greased baking pan. bake at 450 degrees until golden brown 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1/4 cups butter melted. Add garlic powder to the melted butter. When biscuits come out of oven, brush garlic butter on biscuits.
I tried this with my wife and it has changed the game. I’ve been telling so many people and I will continue to spread the good word of our lord and food savior
Water is also to make it cheaper... not on their end because you already like it enough to buy it but cheaper for the homecooks to make. Not alot of people just have buttermilk
I love this, I’ve always put extra cheese bc it definitely isn’t enough to really get you that cheesiness if you only add 1/2c. On top of that DO NOT FORGET THE HERB PACKET I did once, and my biscuit nearly killed me. I butter herbed the rest after that 😭

An additional thing to make them less than diet compliant. Take the melted butter from the recipe, but instead of at the end try this instead. About halfway through take the melted butter right from the microwave to the stove and, using a turkey baster, squirt every bit of that butter onto the biscuits. Be quick so you don't lose too much heat. Then when they are done use the same amount of butter - yes that's double the butter in the recipe - and turkey baste the biscuits again before they cool. Thank you, Jordan! I've actually never been to a Red Lobster, but I've both made the biscuits from the mix and gotten the new premade frozen ones.
